I love the Quarter Arcade 1/4 coin ops, as I have all of their original models before they had to change production due to Covid. These still look amazing, and while I like the Turtle arcade games, I'm not a big enough fan of either title to get these. I do plan to get Space Invaders, but with the new higher prices, some of these may only get bought if a good sale happens down the road(I got most of my originals on sale). But if quality is still up to par as on the older machines, I can tell anyone interested you won't be disappointed. And being at 1/4 Vs 1/6 on the Replicades, these are much more playable, well at least the single player games(4 players, probably not so much).
Just grabbed a signed Turtles in time cab and space invaders 2. This is an expensive hobby! Especially when trying to grab all the numskull and NWT models.
I feel you! As someone who collects bot the NWT machines and Numskull quarter arcades, it’s getting expensive to keep up. They are just too dang cool and fun to play with for me to say no to though 😆
Just received mine today. Two of my favorite arcade games growing up. I have to say I was a little dissappointed that the panel artwork looked low res on the turtles in time cab. I thought maybe it was just my cab but I guess I feel a little better knowing they are all like that. Still overall I’m very happy to own these. Hopefully we get Simpsons in the future. I love how you wrote something doesn’t work I agree like the joystick one of the turtles just doesn’t move is that why they made it possible to use controllers that they didn’t do with Pac-Man in the beginning
CoolToy, It's crazy, the more I look at the artwork of Turtles In Time it appeals to me more than the original. However, I've never played the arcade machine of Turtles in Time, so I'm glad I got the original. Now as for the gameplay of Turtles In Time. I've loaded it up from time to time on Mame, but never played past the first stage. Something just doesn't feel right with the hit detection, and when I do connect, it doesn't feel visceral like the original TMNT or Capcom Beat em up. So I decided to get a licensed version of the arcade Turtles In Time via the Cowabunga Collection. And I'm dismayed to report, there's no feeling to me when it comes to hitting things. And I button mashed my way to the end, but I was left very disappointed. I'm wondering your feeling on this CoolToy. Am I missing something? Anyway, I'm SO GLAD you decided to pick this one up. I think Turtles in Time captures the silliness of the team much better thanks to the expanded sprite animations and more robust character/bad guys used in the sequel game when compared to the original. Especially in terms of how it relates to fans of the original animated series. But as you mentioned the hit detection is altered in the arcade sequel as a result of the expanded animations. Albeit by very minute timing it is something that distinguishes the two games and sets them apart. I enjoy both games immensely (obvious bias because I’ve been TMNT obsessed since childhood) but I really don’t care for how the bosses show the varying degrees of damage during those encounters. I thought the first game was much clearer in terms of progression for defeating a boss, whereas Turtles In Time changes the coloring and intensity in a not so concise manner.
@@cooltoy technically it is not full sized, but it is a size where it can actually be played like an arcade cabinet. The controls are really tiny on these cabinets, making them cumbersome to play. And the issue with the USB ports kind of sucks. It would have been nice if each USB port corresponding to a specific Turtle, so the controller can just be plugged into the one the player wants to use.
The turtles in time arcade cabinet only had the one speaker hole as it used the same Konami cabinet design as the first turtles. There were options in the arcade menu to change the audio output between monaural and stereo sound. But the cabinets never had two speaker holes. That design was for later Konami games like The Simpsons, X-Men, Bucky O’Hare etc
Because price/expense is subjective to each individual. What's deemed expensive to one person, may be completely reasonable to another. It's up to the viewer to decide what is or isn't a good buy to them, they shouldn't need my opinion on the matter.
As I mentioned in this video I bought this unit from Amazon, it wasn't provided to me. So no one had to approve anything, as this video is just my overview on a product I purchased.
What's to go over with a price tag haha. You see the price of it and you decide whether you want to purchase or not. He's providing a guide of the machine that helps me decide if I wanna drop 300 of my own cash on it. I love the TMNT and this game but I do have it on Super Nintendo and happy with it there. At the same time if this was 200 I'd probably pick it up. I don't need another person to review a price tag. I think people need to start thinking with their own minds about material things over what youtubers show off. Think of youtube as a drug dealer. Showing off goods but it's your choice what to do.
I passed on TMNT (but was highly tempted) but got my SpaceInvaders2 and handful of others. I also agree about the CRT stuff, dont want nor like any of these filters esp the glass. TMNT's are awesome but get me Rampage and I will buy it instantly
LOL. I am sorry, but the logic of including only one game on a $300 plus video game replica device; because they wanted "arcade accuracy; is the most absurd excuse for ripping people off. If they included every retro TMNT game on the device with HDMI out; I doubt anyone would complain about that.
More games included of course would have been more favorable to most, but that would have cost Numskull more in licensing fees and thus raised the product price even further.
@cooltoy Fair enough, but aren't there other mini cabs on the market that at least include both arcade games? I guess theses really are for collector purposes, since there are so many ways to play these games legitimately.

We buy these mini arcades with only 1 game on because they look awesome and we can fire them up and recreate our own mini arcades with multiple machines giving off light and sound. Besides the point but I have a Steam Deck and PC so can emulate as many games as I want to my hearts content but these machines are next level and are worth it to me.
I noticed the dip switch settings that control one hit boss fights don't work on the first TMNT cab. I turned them all on and played the whole game and the bosses still required the normal amount of hits. Hoping they fix that as well.
If you hit start on Ralph on the mini control button then just continue to play on a single controller does that method work without having to plug in all 4 usb ports?

No, the usb controller ports were added because they knew getting 4 adults around the control panel playing the game wasn’t really feasible

The price is literally what I paid for an Arcade 1-up version which is full size. This is insane.

Hopefully Numskull will offer a firmware update. New Wave Toys offers several updates for various of their cabs. I expect NS to do the same.
