1. It ships with Android 10 with one ui 2.5
2. It will get 3 years of major software supports, Samsung treat this FE as a proper flagship
3. It supports dex, again Samsung treat FE as proper flagship so not much corner cut on software side

In Europe this S20 FE5g is actually better then every other S20 and Note 20 because it comes with an 865 processor instead of an Exynos!

5G is not for every market other places get Exynos
@@footballtalk4857 most of places will get 5G variant, even in my country (still don't have 5G) for regular S20 we only got exynos ver but for FE Samsung only bring 5G(SD865) variant for us

This may be the best phone for the price. It’s hard to justify buying a regular S20 when you have this phone available.

iphone imo is boring because they force u to download from app store only and if i wanted to download from a third party source then i can't and u don't get as much freedom as u do with android. android is like a portable pc.
@@jdennis867 I agree. You can do whole lotta jobs easily with an android. At least you don't need an extra company provided app installed in your pc (iTunes) to just fucking copy-paste your files.

As a Pixel fanboy, Samsung hit it out of the park with this. Google has no direction and this is the first year they won't be getting my money and that breaks my heart cause I had high hopes for the Pixel lineup and its future. Samsung has me realllly interested.

Now that the Pxl 5 price has been revealed to be $700, I'm seriously considering going with the FE -- with far better specs -- for $100 less !
Same here, I have a pixel 2 xl. Been waiting for a decent pixel to replace it, but unfortunately doesn't look like it's going to happen. S20 FE is very tempting!
Go for the One plus 8t this time, it'll last year and a half like any other but you will be much happier.
@@ManuSaraswat nope One plus needs to re evaluate their phones. The 6t was a tremendous value at the time and we received free cases, screen protector and only 599. The 7t was a fail and so is the 8 5g the camera have not been updated..I love the value but One plus haven't progressed

3:51 The FE can't record 8k because it doesn't have a 33MP sensor, not because of RAM limitations.

Maybe you could talk about the haptics/vibration motor. Can make a phone feel cheap. Comparing it to the rest of the S20s and maybe the iphone would be awesome.

Metal frame and plastic back that's a good compramise, unlike a glass back and plastic frame" OnePlus Nord" And all the camera are usable unlike the OnePlus nord which has only 2 the front 32mp camera and the back 48mp. Why am I so negative on the nord you ask cause I really wanted to buy that phone and it was so hyped I was happy only to get my hopes crushed like a ant. Thanks OnePlus.

managed to pick this up for £450 with s9 trade in and it comes with a £60 moga controller for free which i can use for XBGP, great deal in my opinion. (FE 5g version BTW, wanted that snapdragon chip for better battery)
Would you prefer this over the S20+ if you are in a region where Samsung only sell the Exynos version of the regular S20 line?
This and the OnePlus 8t will be interesting to look out for. What's the brightness and colour accuracy like for the S20 FE compared to the S20 series?
Does it have problems focusing when using the camera? I know this is an issue on the Ultra but I'm not sure if it is on the S20 line. Also the galaxy note 20 has laser auto focus to help with that issue so does this have that?

in the US at least, you can find an Amazon renewed s20+ for about 50$ more than the s20 FE

Here are a couple things I wish Samsung would fix:
Immediate option to do password unlock screen without having to swipe first.
Fast way to turn on flashlight.
Icons should not move in the notifications when I expand.
Phone should allow me to remove galaxy store.
Should not take 3 seconds to open the camer.
Good portrait mode.
Contacts should be part of the phone app like on Google Voice.
Better file manager. Many people are using alternative apps.
Digital well-being should still be able to work while family link is installed.
Family link should be able to filter Samsung internet. Or Samsung should create their own filter like Apple.
An option to display the Hebrew date on the lock screen.
You did not mention the completely flat display in FE compared to the standard S20 series which is a big improvement for lot of people. Currently all retailers like B&H, Best Buy, Amazon etc. are selling this at $599 unlocked and for a 5G name brand phone with such a high end configuration, this is really a great choice. Another thing I want to point out about the Zoom Camera. In S20 and S20 Plus, the optical Zoom is actually 1.3X, not even 2X and Samsung is using lot of interpolation to provide 3X zoom by cropping from the big 64MP images. This one has proper 3X telephoto lenses which does not need any Software trickery . SO, Zoom picture output may not be that different despite having only a 8MP sensor.
Hey, man please make a quick and detailed separate video on its camera capabilities as I wish to pre-order one on 1st Oct. And it would be my first big budget phone, so I am quite curious on the camera setup. And don't want to waste my hard earned money. I'd go for a Galaxy S10+ in the same price if it doesn't perform well. Thanks.

Hey Matt, I looked at the pixel5 and really wanted it? Until I saw what the FE has to offer. First the price, it can be had for 599.00, then the 865, 120hz display. Dolby Atmos 🔊 ers. That in display 🔊, I keep reading tinny & muffled. E-gadds at 599.00 the FE is a no brainer!

@ That is why one cannot say which phone is better in relation to quality vs price. The Poco X3 in other countries costs from $199 to $269. Here with shipping and everything comes out to me at $338. The best phone is the one that works for one in your country 100% and has good specifications for one and a good price.
@ Well it's not 599$ for them. They also have to pay taxes. It's just not included in the retail price. And I can get the S20 FE 5G in Germany for 630€ with taxes shipping etc.
@@EDIIIZ That is correct - it depends on the state, i.e. in Delaware you have 0% sales tax for instance, but usually it's like 6 to 9%. 630€ is a nice price. One of the stores in CZ I am aiming for has the phone for ~610€ similar to Vodafone. But they don't really ship it yet, so I will wait if the price is real (or if they possibly mistaken 4G for 5G).

@@mahin1926 Yeah, def. I prefer this "FE" approach vs the S10 Lite and Note 10 Lite from earlier this year.
Those phones, while decent, were missing far too many features given their original MSRP, and frankly they had a cheaper, more plasticky look than this S20 FE. They came off as midrange "flagship wannabes" rather than true budget flagships like the FE.
Hopefully it would come to my country... my mom would be happy to get this
Thank you for actually bringing up that plastic is more durable and glass isn't everything. I don't understand where the notion that glass is premium has come in. Glass is glass and it breaks. I like everything about this phone but the 6gb of RAM. Thank you again!

Thanks man! Definitely can use without case doesn't feel as precious as all glass. But of course if it hits the front it will crack.
I ordered the 5G version for a couple of reasons:
1. I don't care about 1440p display or 8k recording, nor about having 8-12GB of RAM.
2. Flat screen and 120hz, YES PLEASE!
3. Snapdragon 865 instead of those disastrous Exynos chips we get in Europe (I'm Italian) on all other Samsungs.
4. All of this while still getting IP68 certification, a big battery (which should last even more with Snap865) and 5G with mmwave antenna, which make it future-proof.
Simply put, it was a NO BRAINER, also adding the 30% discount code Samsung sent for my birthday a couple of months ago.
Does it worth it, compare to upcoming OnePlus 8T? Is it true, that galaxy watch 3 able to ecg track only with Samsung phone? Does it make sense to buy Samsung in terms of proposed ecosystem?
Well if you do a bit of research is really not that hard to choose.
If you're treading your old phone go for the FE but if you're not just get the regular s20. You'll pay 650$ for a flagship phone.
I treaded my s9 so I got 300$for it + 20$ student discount and received a 3 month gamepass for my new xbox with controller included and 6 months of free Spotify and 3 of RUclips premium. In the end I ended up paying $380 for the s20 FE.
Don't buy it from Amazon for $600 you won't get any of the extras there.
If u do just get the regular s20.

Tbh for what it offers there’s not much trade off as far as I can see! This is a much much better offering than the standard trash note 20! The fact that you can use the high refresh, wireless charge and all the other bells and whistles of the s20 is amazing! The plastic back wouldn’t turn me off in fact slap a case on you wouldn’t notice! How many comebacks compared to s20 besides aesthetic‘s can you give me? Cos this is a bargain, FHD is used anyway with full refresh rate anyway! The camera is good enough megapixels aren’t the b all n end all! Plus flat displays are more practical! The colour choices are similar to iphone 11 like the red and cloud mint colour

RIP to OnePlus 8T, 8T Pro even before launch. They will sell, but this, this is what brings smile on many faces.
Still feel the S20 is the best phone introduced this year by Samsung. Cameras, battery, FORM FACTOR, etc. Companies should manufacture more small phones as there are people out there who love such easy-to-hold products.

Samsung promised 3 years of updates on their "Flagship Phones". I wonder if this FE model falls under that umbrella given that it's branded an S20? If so I'd seriously consider this over the standard S20. No curved screen!

It can't record 8K video because 8K video needs around 33 million pixels (that's 33MP) but the cameras are 12MP+12MP+8MP

I get SOT of 5 hours now on medium power save and 60hz QHD. Using camera a lot can reduce it even further. I use phone for photography a lot.

I had Galaxy S5 (Gorilla glass 3) before and i dropped it accidentally with no problems. I read online yesterday Glass 3 is more scratch resistant than glass 5 and glass 5 is more drop resistant due to thicker glass. Regardless both glass 3 and 6 scratches at level 6 and deeper groves at 7

Will the phone still have Exynos in certain regions? My last couple of phones have been Samsungs with the Exynos chips, and have not performed as well as I was expecting from reviews in terms of speed and battery management. I don't think I would ever buy another phone with those Exynos chips
