I've had the 5G snapdragon version since Oct. 2nd. The phone was $599 before trade in, and the preorder deal gave me Galaxy Buds Live for $100. So I got the phone and headphones for the price of just the phone in some places. The phone is lightning fast, 120hz is extremely smooth, cameras are all exceptional, battery lasts, Dex turns phone into a portable mini computer, etc. The Buds Live work seamlessly with the phone, last all day, sound great, call quality is great, and they hardly feel like they're in my ear without ever falling out. I switched from an iphone 11 pro max. Everyone is making fun of me but they're so simple minded. Im not saying I'll never own apple again, but the change is nice and android is awesome! Only downside is that I like using social media a lot and most apps are better optimized/updated on ios. (camera works way better on snapchat in ios). Other than that, this phone is better in every aspect in my opinion.
Just a question, have you noticed any issues with the screen being jittery when zooming and scrolling, or ghost touches? I'm looking into getting a s20 fe, but a lot of people have reported issues with the touchscreen.
@@nolandiff6604 I have noticed weird behaviour on some occasions but no major touch issues that are a deal breaker for me. I have heard others are having issues but maybe this is isolated. My S7 just died last night. Just froze then went into a never-ending boot loop. Even though this is an old review, but looking over what Verizon had available, this was for $600. Compared to the S22 (no MicroSD slot), the S21 and the S20, this looked like the best buy to still get 5g and still have a MicroSD card slot. I have my music stored on the SD card as I hate streaming my music. So your review, even though it's coming up on 2 years, definitely sold me to get this phone.
Same here my s10+ is now slowly dying every phone call everyone complains about it echoing and battery life starting to drain. See I've been on the fence about this too. However just thinking about having to speed an additional £100+ on the S20 FE (5G) edition, just for improved mobile data capability and better performing processor. I think my decision personally will be the 8T, as it's cheaper has everything you can wanted at a cheaper price compared to the S20 FE. The only minor cons that people raise but I'm not bothered about are: - Wireless charging - Proper IP rating Edit: Referring to UK pricing
A lot of other reviews say the FE does support HDR, as does GSMArena. I would much rather believe what you have to say Chris but I just want to double check that one?
ok that helps, he just answered my question. beyond being thrown off by the size ( as I like it fitting into my back pocket), I had been reading reviews currently between it and the S21, and both don't have a standard headphone jack which I don't like bluetooth as it always kills my battery when on my walks or run. So i don't know but thank you for clarifying for me sir.
Swapped over from iphone 11. Apart from better screen on FE and better camera on iphone 11, there isn't much to write home about. Both very good phones and very fast, will probably just come down to personal preference.
I've got a 4 year old s7 Edge and the charging port is dying on me so i need a replacement, I've been looking around for one and this one is quite interesting.
Probably more like Full Excuse - "we specifically put a silver ring around the camera to ensure you understand you are not buying a flagship PS there is a built in screen flaw with touch sensitivity"
I'm about to go pick one up. My only complaint with the latest generation phones is the punch hole camera seemingly getting in the way of every video. It's not that big of a deal though, since if I really wanted a cinematic movie-watching experience, I could just go to the cinema.
The S20 FE is sure great choice for flagship feel + budget friendly device if not for the ghost touch issue on some region. Sadly the region where I live in is having this issue.
@@gameboiwavetv901 eh, camera is worse than the FE but not by much. The only difference tbh is the lack of telephone lens. Smh. Two things: 1) Pure Android isn't what the Pixel runs. Google Apps aren't part of "Pure Android." 2) OneUI is the best Android experience out there.
@@GhettoArabSage oneUi is the best experience? Really? Samsung's assistant sucks, many duplicate apps of Google apps that aren't as good as the originals? Nah, I'll stick to standard Android, or, even OnePlus software, yeah I'd say THAT itself is better than OneUI hands down.... 😏 Oh and don't forget that up until recently, Samsung had an appalling update record for their phones (even now only a handful will get 2 years of updates....)...
@@thedarkknight1971 hey, I get it. A lot of people repeat what the masses are saying. I kept my 1st reply quick but the reality is Samsung is leading the way in Android development and it reflects in their market share. Software wise "Pure Android", as in what it truly is, AOSP, doesn't have anything. Once you download/install GApps (Chrome, Play Store, Maps, Gmail, Play Store Framework) it's no longer "Pure Android." This is why Huawei was able to continue using Android but they were barred from using GApps. Google can't stop devs from using Android but they can stop them from using their private softwares like the ones I mentioned above. So in relationship with Android, Galaxy Store is no more foreign than Play Store. We just accept it because they're made by the same people. (I hope you can understand that technical distinction.) Moving into the meat of the issue here is that Samsung independently develops features for Android that blows Google out of the water. You will have features in last year's Samsung that will be available for next year's "Pure Android." Things like screenshot scroll (taking a screenshot of an entire webpage and not only what's on one screen) and screen record were first introduced by Samsung in their OneUI before it was a thing in "Pure Android." Inferior Android OEMs cannot produce hardware-specific development like Samsung does. That's a bonus for Samsung users. There are whole suites of apps created by Samsung that is for their hardware. Ask any Samsung user who is using GoodLock. You can pretty much customize your phone in any level. Things like OneHand Operation is a God send that honestly if you've never used it you don't know what you're missing. I rather have extra features I don't use than not even be able to have those features if I wanted to. This leads into your other issue of duplicate services. Do you complain if you download Netflix and Hulu and Disney+? On the surface it might sound silly but Bixby handles things that Google Assistant can't. Hardware specific functions is something Google Assistant can't do. Try telling Google Assistant to set up a home profile. I have it set up that when I get home my phone turns on WiFi, removes lock screen, dims my screen, lowers my ringtone, etc. When I get into my car there's a whole new profile of playing my driving playlist or spotify (or whatever I want.) Imagine if Google decides like Apple to ban an app from their store or if they decide to charge more commission most OEMs and users (you) will have to accept it. Even if I don't use it I appreciate it. I don't play fortnite but it was never banned from the Galaxy Store. Apple App Store blocked Xbox from releasing their Xcloud app. Think about how important it is for you as a user to have these options. Samsung Pay is better than Google and Apple Pay. Samsung Pay has proprietary software/hardware that can trick old school terminals (MST) into thinking it got physically swiped. I've been tapping to pay for like 4-5 years now even if the business says they can't accept "Apple Pay" (because that's what they all call it.) Samsung Knox is the most secure software out there. "Pure Android" is not that secure and needs an extra level of security. Knox is the only software approved by the US Dept of Defense to hold classified information (not even iOS has that.) TizenOS (watch software) is WAAAY better than WearOS. The whole Android community hates WearOS. I appreciate that Samsung has their own platform so that if they beef with Google down the line they can stand on their own legs. If Google decides to stop Android every single OEM but Samsung will die and need a few years to rerelease their own platform. It's funny because Google is trying to pay Samsung to not do all of these moves. I'm a tech enthusiast. I choose the brand that gives me the best bang for my buck. I used Samsung during the S3 days but then left around the S5 because it was trash. I came back when they got their act together. And you gotta admit they are the best Android phone makers in the world. They're the only real competition with Apple. Enjoy whatever phone you like though: choices and competition is a good thing to have. Just understand when something is good vs when something is bad. I only wrote this out because you tried to paint something good as bad. Peace
@@thedarkknight1971 oh you added something in an edit: I mentioned about how OneUI has features that Pure Android won't get until next year so that whole software update parrot talk is obsolete. I bet you have to Google to find out what extra features are in Android 11 that wasn't in 10. I know the features in OneUI android 9 that Pure Android 10 didn't have. When it comes to updates the only things that are really important are features and security. Samsung offers 5 years of security updates. That's as good as Apple. Samsung has future Android features in current OneUI regardless of Android version. So where's the real value? And of course Pixel will have earlier Android version because Google has it in their warehouse before any other OEM has a chance to see it and develop on it. That's probably the reason why Samsung does what it does. Funny thing about software updates. Sometimes it's not the best to be the first. Most people effected by bugs are those who jump into software head first. I like to wait for the dust to settle before updating my systems. Even when Samsung updates I don't install it quickly before checking the forums to see if it doesn't break anything. If you are into tech you will see that's what happens. Currently older Apple laptops physically die when they updated to the latest MacOS (Big Sur.) No thank you I don't want to be a guinea pig just to brag that I have an 11 instead of a 10 on my phone and not really know the difference.
@@thedarkknight1971 since I don't like editing I'll mention this. My mother has my old S8 and is still getting security and software updates. That's a 4 year old phone still getting updates. So it's not "recently" they've been doing this. I think you're talking about they announced it. But you have to count it from when the work actually started. In the case of the S8 (and I even think the S7) they've been supporting them for 4-5 years constantly so you count it like that.

The display autobrightness is way better than the Pixel 5, display quality is far superior and it gets much brighter outdoors in direct sunlight than the P5.

How is it until now ?
One thing I know I liked on Samsung phones was their own pay feature working on regular cc terminals vs GPay only on other android phones.
I got this instead of the Pixel 5 since Samsung literally just threw money at me for my trade in versus Google saying “nah, bro!” Got it for $200 after trade in, and OMG I love it! Great review and I always look forward to Friday’s now!

@@lisajohansson4329 Multitasking wise, this phone is a beast
I keep the usual FB, Snap, Insta, messenger, chrome and the occasional dating app (yikes) basically always open in the background, they hardly ever restart and you can switch between them very easily to continue where you left off
Sprinkle in a couple of games, demanding and not demanding i.e. COD and Cut the Rope, and even then, basically all the apps continue where they left off
Chuck in the occasional use of the camera, with heavy video use and the apps will all continue still
One UI's pop up feature for apps works like a charm with any application over the other, same with the double app use, with no hiccups, I tested light and heavy apps such as chrome and youtube or fb and snapchat.
For the average consumer, or even a slightly heavier user, the phone is elite, battery life doesn't stunt at all and the phone gets just a touch warmer

Imagine this phone running on pure pixel software (with camera app), or even Android One.... 🤔😎
Smh. Two things:
1) Pure Android isn't what the Pixel runs. Google Apps aren't part of "Pure Android."
2) OneUI is the best Android experience out there.
(I hope you can understand that technical distinction.)
Moving into the meat of the issue here is that Samsung independently develops features for Android that blows Google out of the water.
When I get into my car there's a whole new profile of playing my driving playlist or spotify (or whatever I want.)
Imagine if Google decides like Apple to ban an app from their store or if they decide to charge more commission most OEMs and users (you) will have to accept it.
Currently older Apple laptops physically die when they updated to the latest MacOS (Big Sur.)
No thank you I don't want to be a guinea pig just to brag that I have an 11 instead of a 10 on my phone and not really know the difference.

Just upgraded from a Noord!! Whatever that is LOL. But I am so excited, I know this is an old review but still seems like it has so much life left and is still a very loved phone. As well as an extreme update from what I'm leaving from. Hot it for 160$ on ebay ! Thanks for the review ❤️
Simply Bly Manor splendid!
I really hated giving up my edge plus 6,but can not get wfi host spot so we got this ,I loved my old phone !

mi 10t (non-pro) soon please? cheers!
Just ordered the orange one. I've researching every phone in this price range and with the current holiday discounts it's a steal! Excited to get my hands on it Saturday!!!
Moving on from my S10+ now, and this is high up there. Love the flat screen, as Curve is not my thing (with phones, lol)
Because of the price on things these days s20 ultra is out of the picture.
Will this bring me the same enjoyment of photos front and back, as my current phone? Or will it be sub-par?
I had many of the same questions. In the end, the S20, full version is sold out, didn't want the lower memory S20, so, I settled on the 256gb FE. Hoping it will be an upgrade from my s9+. I gave up Apple with the 5c, ... I prefer Samsung Platform, and, not paying for 2/3 of an Apple logo.
@@influentialolive hows the S20 FE going?? I'm thinking of upgrading from my s8+
@@sanaa23 I Love It. I Do notice little differences, but, they've all been fairly easy to get used to...
Thanks for a thorough and enjoyable video.
Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G or ONEPLUS 8T 5G ?
8t hands down
I'm definitely copping this phone in January 1000% ❤️❤️❤️
watching this on my S20 FE 5G :)
Have you encountered the Ghost touches on your device?
@@sarmadsadeed2714 I want to know this too since up just ordered the device.
@@adamtaylorlee Samsung is supposed to come out with a update for it soon if not all ready if it still doesn't work tou can just use a password or take it to the store to see what the problem is but u should be fine
@@sarmadsadeed2714 only sometimes when I'm playing games but i think it's my fingers touching the edges
@@adamtaylorlee you'll be fine with it
I have this phone and I live in a 5G covered area which is downtown Los Angeles and so far I have no complaints.
You haven't experienced anything bad from 5G yet?
One thing about I love about my S20 fe is how thin is it, was gonna buy the Sony 5 ii but its too expensive
Not that thin, only average.
Well apparently i had and still have a phone with a faulty battery,it could barely get past 17 hours with normal use, nothing heavy
Only 15w charger, they could do a apple and throw in no charger 🤣
they actually will do an apple and not include chrager in s21
Upgrading from the s9 this weekend excited afff
