Another great in-depth review and good take on S20 FE. Currently in USA, Samsung is offering $599 launch price for the 5G version and that's a marvelous price for a 5G phone with top end SD865 from a name brand, not from the Chinese ones. Regarding the 12MP main camera, it is having a 1/1.76 sensor which is almost similar in size compared to the popular 64MP Cameras like GW1 and IMX 686, resulting 1.8 uM pixel size, higher than the 1.6 uM in both of those sensors. Since it is not using Pixel Binning, Samsung was able to add the Dual Pixel Auto Focus in this Camera. Also, lot of people are thinking 8MP Telephoto is a huge downgrade compared to 64MP one in S20 and S20+ which is wrong. Those two phones actually have 1.3X optical zoom and achieve 3X effective Zoom by cropping from the large 64MP image and then downscaling it to 12MP. Here, with 8MP, you have an actual 3X Telephoto Zoom range which does not need any background trickery. The 3X Zoom shots looked really great from your review.

Thanks for this very good in-depth review. IMHO, I prefer the plastic back (especially with wireless charging). I totally agree with you about the adapter that should be 25W. In Thailand, every model comes with 8 GB of RAM.
I have the s20 Fe I've had it for a little over a month now and I'm highly pleased with it I haven't had any problems out of it especially the ones that you've named off it might be just the phone you have cuz mine's been spot on
There's a very good reason only a 15W charger is included. Most people don't care and they're happy with what it is and it'll last longer this way if it's charged slower. For all tech users, people who even know what 25W charging is, they can go out of their way to buy the 25W charger and charge it quicker. I purchased the S20+ (curved) and getting a proper screen protector for it that would work with the Ultrasonic 3D fingerprint reader was HELL. (FE is optical/flat screen). I ended up returning the S20+. Interestingly, the memory used typically was 5-6GB out of 12GB. When I ran many many apps I think the most it went up to was 8GB/12GB. Interestingly, in your Oct 22nd OnePlus 8T review at 7m you mentioned the memory management. I do recall when I was opening a LOT of apps to test the 12GB on the S20+, if I went back to the apps in some cases they didn't fully start and/or it appeared to have an "effect" like you had where it then paused and opened the app (as if it was not actually waiting in memory). Under normal conditions with no apps running, what does the SammySung app say the used RAM is and does that effect also happen with this one. I am thinking it may be less Samsung and more Android. (IMO Memory management tends to be OS related not app/brand related).
Is it still a good buy in August 2021? I am planning to upgrade from M51 to this. I wanted A72, and this one is in the same price bracket here in Turkey. Now I can't decide between this and A72. Also, Vera
I've watched a bunch of reviews of this s20 fe and I gotta say. this phone looks huge in this guys hands. I don't know if the other reviewers have big hands or this guy has small hands lol.
Great review Chris! No DC dimming means no buy for me, my eyes are sensitive to this kind of flicker :( If Samsung ever fix this with a firmware update, please do an update video! By the way, are you going to review Galaxy Tab A 10.4 (2020) and Sony's Xperia 5 II?
What are other options to this phone? I see the Huawei P30 Pro, maybe Lg V50 if ever available, xiaomi mi 10...wireless charging and ois are important to me
@TechTablets I would only use the *120Hz setting* if I'm gaming to save battery life. The *North American* version only supports the low & mid band 5G bands. It does NOT support the faster high-band mmWave. Despite not having the high/mmWave band, I really don't mind as you have to be really next to the tower to receive the 1GBps speed it promises. We have mmWave already active in my town and many cities in the USA. The low & mid band provides great indoor signals and great coverage outside even though the speeds only average from about 350-650 MBps. It's still way faster than our current 4G LTE-Advanced bands. It's still a great deal for us Americans and/or Canadians who are on a budget and still want to get an S20 series version for 2020.
I have watched a lot of videos on the s20fe, and this is by far the most in depth and enjoyable watch! I have a question, would the in screen fingerprint scanner work with a tempered glass screen protector? Thank you.
Great review and in Thailand only 550 euro for the 5g version in pre order. "Sadly" I have a OnePlus 7 pro, but otherwise would pick one up. Do much prefer Samsung's oneui over oxygen
I don't want bigger screens but their decision to make this a bit of a big boi 6.5" gives them a bigger physical heatsink. I don't think people think that way but it makes sense to me at least. Unsure what plastic back does for thermals as well
Hey. I do like your reviews, they are really through. Just one omission that I saw. You said theres no Video Pro Mode, but I think I saw it on the screen, just not right next to stills pro mode but one row down. Cheers !
I agree with Samsung's decision to ditch the chager. They're right - most of us have multiple chargers piling up and the reality is they add to the purchase cost of the phone and end up as e-waste. I'm glad Samsung is looking for ways to reduce our footprint and reduce the overall cost of the device.
Thanks for video! If we consider that will use case, does not matter plastic or glass. I have also complained about 6 gb ram with base model and no type c to jack adapter. I don't prefer fast charging because there are 20 minutes different between 15 and 25 watts. Hope stocks never expired before I buy :)

Under normal conditions with no apps running, what does the SammySung app say the used RAM is and does that effect also happen with this one. I am thinking it may be less Samsung and more Android. (IMO Memory management tends to be OS related not app/brand related).
Do you know if the S20FE exynos Chipset has the same ufs 3.1 storage??? Here in Brazil just the exynos is available. +1 sub nice review pal.
Good job Chris!
2021...Just orderd this S20 5G Navy Blue. Coming also from the Galaxy S10+. 👍
Nice enjoy!
@@Techtablets thanks so much 👍 i
Please, can you do DEX review, wireless and normal one on S20 FE?
Is it still a good buy in August 2021? I am planning to upgrade from M51 to this. I wanted A72, and this one is in the same price bracket here in Turkey. Now I can't decide between this and A72.
Also, Vera
I've watched a bunch of reviews of this s20 fe and I gotta say. this phone looks huge in this guys hands. I don't know if the other reviewers have big hands or this guy has small hands lol.
Great review Chris! No DC dimming means no buy for me, my eyes are sensitive to this kind of flicker :(
If Samsung ever fix this with a firmware update, please do an update video!
By the way, are you going to review Galaxy Tab A 10.4 (2020) and Sony's Xperia 5 II?
Excellent review.. I'm thinking about purchasing the S20 FE. Thank you for doing such an in-depth review.
Same here gonna get one on christmas! Finally i'm escaping that iphone 6 and ios.
It's a good choice, but I recommend the Xiaomi Mi 10 T Pro because of the adaptive sync
What are other options to this phone? I see the Huawei P30 Pro, maybe Lg V50 if ever available, xiaomi mi 10...wireless charging and ois are important to me
@TechTablets
I would only use the *120Hz setting* if I'm gaming to save battery life.
Thank you.
Yes it does work with a screen protector
Great review like always
I'm always a bit amused when a "phone" review doesn't mention anything about the actual phone . . . or did I miss it? 😎
great information! i like!
Great review and in Thailand only 550 euro for the 5g version in pre order. "Sadly" I have a OnePlus 7 pro, but otherwise would pick one up. Do much prefer Samsung's oneui over oxygen
the best review so far on youtube...does it get hot while video recording?
Nice review, the best i've seen so far for this phone 👍
Great review. Thanks.
How many years would this phone last, looked after,in a case?thanks.
between this and mi 10 which do you prefer for detailed photos and video stabilization?
Oh wow thanks for the heads-up on the silver ring around the FF camera. As if the punch hole needed more attention drawn to it!?!
I know quite annoyed Samsung draw more attention to it with the silver / gold ring around it is just silly!
congrats Samsung, you totally played yourself and lost my business
@@housegobin5885 damn I'm sure they're losing sleep over this loss LOL
@@housegobin5885 first world problem at it's finest
Awesome and thorough review, thank you!
Kindly compare OnePlus 8t with Samsung S20 Fe 5g, it will be useful for many who is planning to buy a new phone in this price range.
I don't want bigger screens but their decision to make this a bit of a big boi 6.5" gives them a bigger physical heatsink. I don't think people think that way but it makes sense to me at least. Unsure what plastic back does for thermals as well
Hi, Sir! Compared to Realme X50 pro, what is the better phone?
Simply Awesome review, one more question, Does phone has noise cancelation microphone?
Yes it does
Another great video
Hey. I do like your reviews, they are really through. Just one omission that I saw. You said theres no Video Pro Mode, but I think I saw it on the screen, just not right next to stills pro mode but one row down. Cheers !
Excellent review. Thank You! 😁
Great review! Is the 4k 60fps on the rear camera stabilized?
I believe so
Genuine review dude👍🏻❤️
Daughter is adorable 👍
In your opinion i have a Note 8 would this be considered a decent upgrade ?
The updates really helped this phone
It aged terrifically
Thanks for the good review!
Love the navy blue colour 😁 and coming from the UK the snapdragon processor. Finally!
Yes finally SD865!
I just received mine today
@@AkronKid330 Nice! Enjoy!
@@AkronKid330 worth this money? Us looking OnePlus 8 or S20 Fe.
@@stanislavpoplavskij7717 I think it's well worth the money
What would you say is better, S20 FE 5g or the s10+? I'm having a lot of trouble choosing my first phone.
S10+ if you don't need 120hz. But mines the sd855 version
@@Techtablets Is there really any other difference besides the 120hz? I'm also thinking about how many years of updates the s10+ would have.
Pro Video setting was there when you opened options under "More" settings.
Which one you suggest me to pick oneplus 8t or s20 FE ?
Great review. I was hesitating between the S20 fe and the Mi 10t pro...
Great review sir. I really enjoy it. :)
I agree with Samsung's decision to ditch the chager. They're right - most of us have multiple chargers piling up and the reality is they add to the purchase cost of the phone and end up as e-waste. I'm glad Samsung is looking for ways to reduce our footprint and reduce the overall cost of the device.
How does this compare with the OnePlus 8 Pro? Which would be a better purchase?
Amazing review, very good.
excited to your realme 7 series review
Well i saw them 😂😂
Coming soon! Still WIP
Petition for Genshin Impact for all test. Even low setting is quiet demanding. My SD636 can't even play lowest setting smoothly 😂
The dif between that and 865 is like from a scooter to a ferarri lol
Which one should i buy? S20 FE or Huawei P40 Pro? Consider it's at same price range segment..
11:47 You said there wasn't a video pro mode? Not true, I saw one in the "More" menu right after you exited pro mode...
SAME I saw it too
Yeah, i'm almost certain it does have Pro Video mode
