    Appreciate it. Your video gave me the kick in the ass to get 'er done. For anyone else taking it on with a newer model, my '22 does not have a reservoir for the hydros. It has a vent plug on the side and a fill plug on top. It's still basically the same process.

    Loved your video. I followed what you did to the T on my ZT Elite and have a problem after completion. I removed each filter and let old oil drain. Put the new filters on. I "bled" each of the holding tanks until the new oil ran out each hole and put the plugs back in. Had to add some oil to each top tank to fill level. Started machine and it seemed to work. BUT, soon developed a grinding noise when operating the shift levers and doesn't have much forward speed. Am having trouble steering it straight. What did I miss?

    • @tomlagesse6635

      Did you bleed your lines by lifting the mower, pulling the neutral pin at the rear, and moving the wheels in forward and reverse several times, then doing the same with it on the ground? That is the procedure for bleeding the air per the PDF I read off the BadBoyParts website.

    Great video! I'm curious why the manual for my mz magnum says the hydro system is a sealed system and requires no maintenence.. yet still says later that it's required at 50 hrs then every 250..?

    • @south_coast
      @south_coast  3 года назад +1

      I am not familiar with that particular model. I know some of them have sealed systems and others have serviceable systems. Look at your hydro gears and see if they have external filters. If so, they you probably need to do the first change at 50 then subsequent changes at 250 like you stated.

  • @58bobw
    @58bobw 4 года назад +3

    Great Video, learned a lot and I’ll refer to it when 50 hrs is due. I have 22 on mine.
    I have a 747 too. Does yours smoke at crank up after sitting a week? Mine does.
    A few questions: Is that oil you bought at TS pricey? Filters? Also on that bleeder bolt you removed. Is that even necessary? It seems like you removed it and then put it back in after adding some oil...how long before you checked it until oil started coming out?
    Great 👍 video, keep Em’ coming brother

    • @south_coast
      @south_coast  4 года назад +3

      I haven't noticed any significant amount of smoke on start up after sitting. maybe a puff or two but it clears right up once I push the choke back in.
      The oil was $30/gallon, not sure what the filters cost, but I want to say $30 for the pair..Could probably find them cheaper elsewhere. The timing is a bit misleading in the video. It takes a long time for the oil to work its way into the hydro-gear. Without the bleeder removed you will get a bubble trapped and you will never properly fill the hydro-gear. Once you hit the 2 quart mark you need to start checking on the bleeder more frequently. I think I had a touch over 2 qts in before it came out the bleeder. Remove the bleeder before adding any oil.
      Thanks for watching. Hope it is helpful for ya.
