I have made this skirt in 4 different fabrics for my “Summer of Barbie” collection! I made a muslin and use that to make new skirts and I have been lining them too. I LOVE this super simple and practically foolproof pattern! Can’t thank you enough!
Hi! That's wonderful, I want to line it too but I'm inexperienced. At what point in the process do you attach the lining? Like how do you go about it in general? Thank you so much
Great tutorial. I really like how you did the waistband. My last few skirts had a waist facing so I was really curious to see your method. You explain things so well, thank you for sharing 😊 Oh, I have to ask if that fabulous ruffle sleeve dress you were wearing earlier on in the video was one you made or RTW:)
Thanks, great tutorial. I like how you finished the edges first. I need to practice finishing the seams so will try this method. Also, could you explain a bit more about "stitch in the ditch" ? Or is that covered in another video?
I am wanting to sew a skirt for my mom as a beginner. The largest size for this pattern is 3.5" short of the size I need for my mom. Can I just equally add extra width to the pattern to get the size I need?
Hey Anastasia! I have a request can you please make a video of basic front & back skirt sloper? You already made videos of basic bodice sloper and sleeve sloper, it was great.
@@SewAnastasia Aww that's so sweet of you. You don't know but, you're such a lovely mentor I ever had in my life. You helped me so many times with my difficulties, I feel so grateful to have you. Thank you so much for everything. Lots of love~❤
Create the skirt the same but just follow regular zipper application steps. If you need help with that check out my video for the regular centered zipper. How To Sew a Zipper Into Anything The Easiest Way | Sew Anastasia ruclips.net/video/d1vqf46_RLU/видео.html
Hi there! So I am sewing this skirt (first time) and all was well until I noticed my waist band is too short when pinning to the skirt before sewing it in. I double checked sizing...ect but have no clue. Help! appreciate your recommendations. :)
There is a good chance your waist fabric stretched out. Run a basting stitch or a stay stitch along the waist to see if you can get it to ease back in. What kind of fabric are you using ?
I was surprised that you installed the zipper, BEFORE finishing the rest of the seam. Other skirt videos i have watched, put the zipper in AFTER doing the bottom part!
You have beautiful glasses.I was wondering why not start your own brand and manufacture your designs through clothing factories. It will be fun and profitable at the same time

Thank you that’s so helpful for mr making an 18 inch orange Harris Tweed skirt.
You’re welcome 😊 That sounds beautiful.
Hello! I have the same problem with the waistband being to short by 2 1/2”! I am using a thin polyester flowy material.

You are so welcome! The ruffle dress I made! 🥰🎀
@@SewAnastasia how did you go about making the ruffle sleeves? Please divulge 🙏🏻. Or did you cover it in another video?:):)
Lovely fabric

Would a walking foot be helpful on those slippery fabrics to avoid puckering?
Totally!

I can. I will add it to my list!

Would you use the same method if you are using a regular zipper?

I’m not seeing the size reference on the pattern. Could you tell me where I can find that to know which line to cut? Thanks!
If its not on the pattern it will be on the site. I will check the pattern and add it if it is not.
I just checked and it is on the skirt pattern.
Lovely tutorial. Could you do a tutorial on a pencil skirt?
Yes! I actually have one!!! Check out my other videos 🎀
@@SewAnastasia, thank you.

It’s much easier this way. Give it a try
This is also just for an invisible zipper
Can you make it outbof flannel
You can make it out of any fabric you want!
Hi there! Do we flip the 2nd back piece before cutting the fabric?
You can flip it or cut 2 at the same time. So layer your fabric. Hope that helps. Thank you for watching and following along :)
@@SewAnastasia THANK YOU sewww much. Im almost done. Time to add the zipper. Im nervous!
@@patriciawatson2619 you got it! Send me pics when it’s done!
If I want to put in a lining at what point should I sew it in?
Before the waist band
What size is the skirt in this video ?
It is a size 4
Is the download not free anymore?
It never was.
I need lower waist no zipper just hook eye and longer but less tight to the hip and body
A basic loose jersey material skirt
Oh well yes that would be a completely different skirt! I’ll add it to my list. Happy sewing 🧵

Been there & done that. I currently work on custom orders only.
I ran my own collection & boutiques for a decade
I'm kind of new to sewing. Why don't you just have a front and back piece instead of two back pieces?
It depends on where you want the zipper. This patter has a center back zipper.
Where is the pattern

I thought you were gonna start with the pattern
The high pitched voice, the non-stopp blubber and the denerving jingle made me leave quicker than walking in!
Excellent, thank you.
Nobody cares girl… and you missed out on a great tutorial by the way 😒
How rude!
For someone who describes themself as a Jesus follower, that’s an interesting comment.
literally no one cares
