    Love this pattern and tutorial. I have a check I want to make into a 1/2 circle and didn't fancy trying to match on multiple seams, so the one panel method looks perfect!
    Can someone please explain, I don't understand why you don't need to add SA to the radius measurement how is there enough space to add the zip? TIA

    • @PaigeHandmade
      @PaigeHandmade  2 года назад

      You are cutting out your waist measurement and then stitching half an inch away from the cut line. That increases the diameter of the circle and gives you enough seam allowance. Hope that helps.

    Just wanted to say I admire your thoroughness! Most online tutorials would never do basting stitches, hand stitches, and making the hem even (and the liner!) after allowing the skirt to hang for a few days. Super impressed! I'm new to sewing but I wish all videos taught and incorporate best practices like you.

    Okay. I don't know if you will see this, but I have to type it. This was absolutely the best tutorial on sewing anything I have seen on RUclips. I am in the very beginning of sewing, literally learning all of the basic stitches but watch dress/skirt tutorials because that is my goal. Not one has ever mentioned letting the fabric hang (I've seen that and thought it was for show) or using pi to determine waist measurement. I think I heard one person mention washing fabric before working with it. And getting on the floor actually showing, forget about it. This was precise and wonderfully demonstrated. I can actually follow this and not get lost in the fabric. You're a great teacher. Thank you sooo much, and you're the one I subscribed to. Again, thanks.

    This tutorial is so detailed and meticulous, it's fantastic. For those who prefer fewer details and working it out themselves, this video may seem overwhelming. But for me, the amount of careful thought and explanation into the tutorial AND the pattern makes me feel more prepared and confident. You even have a pdf file of the measurements and a blog post with extra details! I love the extra steps like the inner lining, the interfacing, and the invisible zipper
    Although I think this skirt is above my experience level, I very much look forward to returning to it again when I'm more practiced in my sewing skills. I baste where the zipper goes and then stitch the center back seam. After that I baste the zipper into place, so the center back seam is sewn before the zipper is installed.
