Wonderful to hear this. I can remember the original with R Wilson having to record all the sound tracks individually and play into them and then the composer saying that the top line didn't quite work and it would have to be played on a piccolo!
I just love it! Music is great, jazzy, makes me want to dance. Visuals are mesmerizing, and they too reflect this joie-de-vivre Reich's music has. Makes me jealous too: i wish I had made it! Keep going, best wishes from a Reich fan.
This is a fantastic performance and it has a very contemporary groove and feel to it. It's not too straight or stiff in it's interpretation and I wondered if you can buy it at all?
Add a backing track to this with some drums and a thumping bass, maybe a synthesizer with some harpsichord-like sound, and it sounds like something Gentle Giant would do.
Hi Steve, wonderful job! Is this all the parts including the solo part? I'm looking for the accompaniment. I was just online trying to rent it and 2 web sites I went to said it was no longer available. ugg. thanks for your help! Lyra Pherigo
Regurgitating the same rhythmic ideas as music for 18 musicians :/... Kinda boring now... Just the harmonies and melodies are different. I dont enjoy this piece much tbh.

Paradise for me would be: listening to Vermont Counterpoint while sitting in the Rothko Chapel in Houston, Tx.
Yes!
I live close to there! What an amazing space!
I came here because I loved Electric Counterpoint. Despite the change of instrument, I am not disappointed.
Reich is a treasure.
the visualization tells everything. liked it very much!
Really like this! It's so dynamic and full of life. Multiple flute lines sounding simultaneously creates quite a heavenly sound!

Wonderful performance; will definitely be in my favorites. Nicely done Roberto!
This is fantastic.
Both music and video are mesmerising. Great work.
Great work! Brilliant rendition!
Excellent version! Great work!
this music is very interesting for the counterpoint apparent, static but at the same time moving
Great music and performance. :)

jasper
steve reich the type of nigga you invite to a party and he gets ahold of the aux cord and puts on some enya
VanIsleBC That's me, except I'd do that at a metal party
I did indeed, good work!
Very clever indeed! The history of Western, Classical Music, Avant-Gardism, Pop, Jazz and music from disparate cultures... It's all in Reich's music.

how much Flute voices are written in this work (congrats of course, is awesome)
Yay Joy!
A really intriguing version, thank you for sharing! Have you ever played Alan Hovhaness’s Spirit of Ink?

Actually 10, with a flute soloist who has three different flutes
4:48 - 6:55
What is the name of this song?
Vermont Counterpoint
I wish it were for sale
I began to see faces of Abraham Lincoln at the end, and I am not even American. O.o Anything I should worry about?
How many flutes?
Gooby
Maybe i am stupid but lines dosent represent music "parts" in any other way than time they enter and leave screen. Which is kinda meh.
Илья Кондрашов just visuals bro
only if it had a fire ass beat
Jamel Reyes dude it does
wish it had bass flute
Sembra un concerto di uccelli in un bosco!

This is a classic example of minimalism in music.
I was forced to listen to this for homework. Ugh. So boring! 😕
Pierce_The_Pilots what? why? how?
Oh how i just wish this was my every day homework.
Classic example of minimalism in music. Try Philip Glass "Einstein on the Beach" for some amazing minimalism. It really is quite fascinating.
