i got one from my parents for Christmas, my mom shops qvc A lot, so if i ever want to know what i'm getting for Christmas i just need to start watching qvc lol. but even though i didn't think i wanted it i do use it all the time, i use it the most to charge my phone and speakers etc where ever i want without having to stretch a cord from the wall. and if i want to pick it up and move but still use my phone I can. The jump start is also amazing.
I bought two of these from QVC a few years ago but never had to use them yet. I'm charging one again right now (on house power) because we're having continual power outages in California this year and it will charge my cell phones too! Hope it works as well as yours or as they showed on QVC!
Hopefully they will. Btw make sure to keep them at about 50% to 75% charge for long term storage. Lithium batteries like to sit at that range for long term. Letting them drain died and sit like that can cause permanent damage to the cells. Letting them sit at 100% can wear them out faster too. I replaced the battery in my van so I probably will not be using mine very much except to help other motorists. I keep mine at about 50% and it still has plenty enough power to start large vehicles!
I've used these to jump start batteries that have a slight charge, but not enough to start the vehicle. They work good, but when I tried to start a car with an absolutely dead battery it didn't work. I watched a review with a jump starter called Povasee, that jump starter actually started both a small block V8 without a battery in it and a older Winnebago without a battery in it. It didn't just turn the motor over, it literally started the engine and the engine ran for a few minutes. I don't know if there's some kind of electronic in the Halo that prevents it from starting a car with a dead battery (I know those Schumacher jump starters at Walmart have electronics in the that won't allow you to jump start a dead battery) all I know is even after I left the Halo connected to the battery for at least 15 minutes, the vehicle would not start.
I have one of these, a 58830 model. I used it to start a car everytimne I drove for a while, probably 18 to 24 starts without recharging it, and it still had plenty of power for more starts. I can't complain, it's been well worth the price for my purposes.
Got mine from QVC this summer - the longer air hose is bad - let’s air out. Your information on customer service inspired me to contact them I need to get their number I paused your video to see it 😂. I came to learn about jumping tho. Mine turned yellow after being green - alternate jump points were being used. Good video
Mine is 4 years old and still working, I bought a *45 AMP BATTERY TENDER and MAINTAINER* I use my Halo Bolt for power to use the MAINTAINER, instead of having to connect to a Wall Outlet. enough to get the Battery Recharged :)
I think you'll be surprised if you try to start a car with a completely drained battery, 100% dead. I noticed when you opened the door here your bells were ringing so your battery wasn't completely dead and according to your meter it was only about half dead. I've started cars with my halo in the same condition you did in this video and it worked fine. I just tried to start my granddaughter's car whose battery was 100% dead and the car did nothing with Halo hooked up and it was fully charged.
So one time i accidentally drained my battery to 00.9 volts. I thought I ruined my battery but figured I would try to start it off the Halo. I hooked up the halo and tried to start the van but it would not start. After the start attempt, I turned the halo back on and left it on for a few minutes. After waiting for a bit, I tried starting the van again. It was slow but started right up. Weirdly enough the battery survived and recharged and I am still using it to this day. Although the battery has gotten significantly weaker due to it being drained down that far which is expected.
I have the one your talking about AND the newer one with the air compressor. The older one worked for about three years, right now it doesn’t charge, the green jumpstart light comes on but the 4 lines indicating that it’s charging doesn’t light up. It only works if it’s plugged in a wall outlet. Now the newer one with the air compressor I got Dec 2020, because the only one I thought ran it’s course,,,,,,STOPPED WORKING ALREADY!!! I called QVC who I purchased it from they told me to call HALO. Halo said because it’s has a lithium battery I can’t send it the mail, thus I have a expensive PAPER WEIGH. Do NOT buy the one with the air compressor, if you do make sure you buy the warranty. Because well it’s a waste of money.
Decided to get one of these off Amazon after doing quiet a bit of research. I have a dashcam installed in my car that ends up killing my battery if I forget to unplug it after commuting to work and back. Also, I plan on using it for my HP laptop. We'll have to wait and see how it performs, but I've seen a lot of good things said about this product.
I have not tried the one with an air compressor yet. I'm still using the halo bolt that was in this video. It seems to be lasting well even though it has gone through many summers and winters being left in the vehicle.
@@theelectricreality you need to make sure the nominal voltage is the same. if you have two batteries in parrale in the truck for 12v, then yes you will be good. if you have two 12v batteries in series for 24v, then no, dont use this thing

Thanks for the detailed video! This battery is literally the best and a life-saver.

I called the number from your brochure. Now I’m on the site. I had to keep pausing it. You are flipping it as I talked. Good stuff

Im here right now because im one of those who suffer from winter storm in Texas without electricity 😑 and i need to prepare for whatever i need
better off with a jackery type unit. the watt hour capacity is super low on this halo thing. it works well for what it was designed for though
I was just given a new halo bolt acdc. Its really nice.
I have one. Jumped my car several times with it.
Thanks 😊 First time using this.
Where did you get the case for it ? the yellow one on the floor
between the seats ?
I had it laying around from another battery that broke. Don't think you can by it anymore. But ones like it might be available on amazon.
Where did u buy the cigarette plug volt meter at ? I would like to get one. Thank you for any info.
Got it off Amazon
Hi there. Any long term issues with this Halo Bolt..? 🤔🤔
They also now come with an air compressor. Thanks for the great review 😀😀👍👍

@@theelectricreality Thanks for the update... from the UK 👍👍😎
Hi, can I use it to start a 3.0L diesel engine? Thank you.
If you have one 12 volt battery then yes. If you have 2 batteries then you would need 2 jump boxes.

Can this jump start my truck (Toyota tundra v8) with out a battery or if the battery is completely dead
Not sure it will jump it if the vehicle has no battery but it can jump it if the battery is completely dead.
