Cane Masters' President, H. Keith Melton adds another technique that you can add to your arsenal of cane defense movements. The powerful HELICOPTER SPIN has been clocked up to 200MPH with a radar gun and is a powerful way to hold off multiple attackers. This video teaches the ACSD technique and shows how to develop Power, Speed, and Accuracy. Спорт
Keith, your videos are excellent, your skills and training is inspirational to the new caner, ACSD is combative self defense and cane flow makes it fun and beautiful. Keep the videos coming.
Thank you John for the kind words… The ACSD system is the most comprehensive tactical cane system in the world… thank you for being part of the ACSD family! Keith
Love these videos. Much to learn at 80 with difficult wrists, but still practice. Thank you for the instructions.
Hello! We're delighted to hear that you enjoy the videos and find them helpful. It's truly inspiring to know that you're continuing to practice and learn, especially with challenges like difficult wrists. Your dedication at 80 is admirable! If you ever have any questions or need specific guidance, feel free to reach out. Keep up the fantastic work, and thank you for your kind words!
I’m going to practice that sitting in a wheelchair. I can see it would be a useful skill to have. Thanks
Hi John! Constant practice makes a big difference, thanks so much!
Elsewhere I saw a gentleman in a wheelchair doing various cane strokes. None was fast enough to prevent his opponent from grabbing the cane when it slowed at the end of a stroke or at the beginning, before the stroke began. I was distressed for his sake. It seemed no one would point out to him that his strokes were ineffective. I myself had no training at that time and so I didn't feel it was appropropriate for me to risk upsetting him, especially since that might be how many people who are in a wheelchair necessarily learn. All that said, I think you can use this stroke effectively to good result. All the best to you!
Looking forward to practicing this technique with my Cane Masters cane! Thanks again, Keith!
Thank you my friend for your kind words…. Keith
You got my attention. I'm looking forward to my cane arrival.
You are too cool, my man. I want to learn these techniques myself, and soon I will be equipped with one of your canes. I hope to get one next month or April. Take care.
Thanks Rodney we appreciate the kind words!
Please reach out if you have any questions.
I really enjoy your videos, they are very helpful. One thing in particular about this video though is you keep your fist vertical on the strike. If you were to turn your thumb to the outside so that your palm was up on the strike you would transfer a greater amount of force to the Target as you allow more of your body mechanics behind the swing.
Striking the way you do in the video allows the cane a greater chance to bounce off the target diminishing some of the impact.
I am far from any kind of expert or professional. If I am incorrect please help me understand why.
Thank you for your time.
Outstanding, as usual. Thanks for the help, sir!
Any time!
Hey Keith, great video my friend. You are an asset and inspiration to the world of Martial Arts. Please keep the videos comming. Thanks.

Thanks Thomas for your feedback... Keith
thanks
Thanks for the video. Do you know anyone who has used this in a real world situation?
EXCELLENT training tips.. THANK YOU so much- and I notcie you refer to ACSD often-- do they work wtih Cane Masters cooperatively?
Yes we work cooperatively with ACSD... I am a Senior Master with the cane in the SCSD system and train twice weekly with Grandmaster Robaina of ACSD. Keith
@@CaneMasters-WalkingCanes GREAT- that's what I hoped you'd say-- adds great value, influence and respect to BOTh that way!!
Ok, The came looks fun and I want to train. BUT!, a concealed carry seems a lot more secure!
Carry conceal, spray, cane and any other defense you choose to give you options.
good info and presentation. What's up with Mar Shuey?
Thank you! Mark Shuey is no longer with Cane Masters. If you have questions, you can email us at info@canemasters.com.
Mr. Shuey passed away in early December, 2021. RIP.
Really likening leadsons
Thank you Patrick! Keith
I've not seen anyone in the cane training community talk about using the cane to knock people out by targeting the vagus nerve. Is there training on this subject?
There are different techniques on how to use the cane for striking during self-defense situations. The main goal is to keep yourself safe from any harm regardless of what and where to strike.
I don’t like it... I love it!
❤️ you Canemasters 🥰

@@CaneMasters-WalkingCanes I am so proud to use, sport, flaunt - your beautiful masterpiece; along with its many useful and beneficial features and assets.
A lot of people have been complimenting its craftsmanship, and I need to email you once again for an inquiring on your experience and wisdom on a certain subject.
Gratefully,

hi why practicing both hand
Would love to see defense moves with palm rest.
Hi Robert… The helicopter spin works the same if you have a Palm Rest on or not… But it needs to be started from the horn up position when your chamber. Best regards… Keith
@@CaneMasters-WalkingCanes thank you but interested in techniques with palm rest if possible.
First thing I will try with my ‘Chi’ cane when she gets here ….she will be multi purpose!
AWESOME!
After over 1000 conftontations on the street--- you have TWO choices in multiple attacks-- the ONE that is BIGGEST - OR the one that moves FIRST.. those are the only two qualifiers you need in deciding.. who comes first??
The answer is that you should begin to defend yourself at the moment you detect an attack and don't have a way to retreat. Sometime you don't have the luxury of being the first... and your cane can help defensively to disable the attacker. Keith
Cane Masters produces only canes... we do not create training products. Keith
I wonder what that technique would do to a cantaloupe.
Hi Bill... it would make a great video to smash a cantaloupe... if only it would't make such a big mess in my office! Keith
That should clear some space ... These videos are Amazing!! No sane , sober moral citizen is getting anywhere near that #Theambassador..
Thank you Nick for the kind words… We hope the helicopter spin is sufficient to keep the bad guys away… And let them look elsewhere for a victim. Kieth
As an old guy who carries a cane for security while walking my dog, I have ZERO interest in flamboyant martial arts techniques. Let's be realistic for a change.
We completely understand where you're coming from. Practicality and personal security should always be the top priorities. Martial arts can definitely be adapted to suit individual needs and circumstances. If flamboyant techniques don't align with your goals, there are many styles that focus on efficient, straightforward self-defense. It's all about finding what works best for you and your situation. We appreciate your time watching this video. Stay safe out there!
That BACKWARD hook crap is AWKWARD as he... for me.... I'd have to do something else. I can NOT carry or hold one BACKWARD. simply doesn't work... NOT saying it's not working or effective--- I simply can't do it.. Something in the way I'm wired will NOT let me.. maybe hold habits.. (iado, kendo, etc.)... who knows..
Hi David, thanks for reaching out! There are other tactics that you might be comfortable in doing with. With proper and constant practice, muscle memory will be developed. You can email us at info@canemasters.com if you need anything.
Unlearning _is_ even harder than learning. But the reverse grip is the better way to hold a cane simply for walking. Notice how it enables you to hold your arm straight whereas the forward grip requires that you bend your arm at the elbow. The result is that you're better able to bear weight when you use a reverse grip. I use a cane for mobility and I'm in the process of adjusting to a reverse grip.
Well , theory, theory , theory. I have some doubts about all this
I haved watched many video and i say many videos , i will not put all my hopes in what you are saying
I would like to see a real video i real life about fighthing cane with a bad criminel (sort of )
I do not believe this, picture this, ,,,2 street fighters running ,armed coming at you. ????
I thing you'll be loosing and beaten no time flat
So don"t sell dreams about it
All the. Videos and those ku-fu clowns are promoting theory only
Do you thing in life ,a person will stand still getting hit by a stick in front of you ??????
Come on , its and aid. Ok !!! But we should stop saying that this is miracle
No offense
We totally understand your point, however, having proper knowledge and skills in using a walking cane for personal protection can go a long way. Better be prepared than sorry. Thanks for sharing!
thanks
You are most welcome Forest… Thank you for watching our Canemasters channel! Keith
