    This lake is loaded with catfish. Lots of Blue catfish and decent numbers of channel cats. Some of the best baits for Blue cats are fresh dead shad, and Bream/Sunfish for cut bait. Channel cats are great on chicken liver and chicken hearts. During the spring fish the bulkheads. Yes they are called bulkheads NOT seawalls. Water clarity suffers due to the out of control and mostly unregulated sand mining that takes place in the East and West Forks of the San Jacinto River. That and zero governmental oversight of new developments in the Lake Houston watershed not adhering to environmental regulations that when followed would prevent dirty runoff.

      Thank you so much for the info! Sad they are not regulating it.

      Sheldon is tiny. Go stump hunt the cypress trees when the pads are covering the reservoir. It’s also all no wake. One a couple of deeper 10-12 foot holes. So fish the islands and the cypress trees. Can be explored in a day easily.

      @@SimplisticFishing two 9s caught this spring but nothing over 10. Hopefully broken next year. There has been Florida strain stocking in recent past. It's a flip and frog lake.

    Are the boat ramps shown, all public ramps?

    • @CT-kv3bx
      @CT-kv3bx 7 дней назад

      No. Several are private community ramps. Most people launch at the ramp off 1960.

    There’s not a lot of public places to fish that lake. Most of the lake is lake front property.

    I’ve fished Lake Houston for 35 years. Main lake is trash. Tournaments are never won on main lake. Everyone goes up Luces Bayou, East Fork, West Fork, or Caney creek.
