      She didn’t know he would flip a switch when she asked him to leave. She became fearful of her life when he trapped her. At that point she’s in extreme danger knowing this is the same man who is trained in martial art, who had kicked his wife, fired a gun into a ceiling to shut her up, abused her pets, and wanted to kill innocent cruise passengers because he owns her and they can’t even be near her. 5:48:25 Here she is crying because she didnt think she had to physically stand up and show to the court how doug was standing and how his hands were, because it never happened . If you were being attacked by a man, you will remember the exact moment of when the attack happened. She cannot explain it because she knows that dougs back was turned and he wasnt attacking her , lunging at her or aware that she had a gun in her hand.
    She didnt take any drugs or drink alcohol that affect her memory. In the moment of the threat and leading up to it she should remember it and she does remember what happened but she knows 100% that there was no threat because evidence prooves that she shot him from more than a meter away , which tells us that he never lunged at her, because she states that she pointed the gun towards his knee (showing her hand pointing the gun to the floor direction) and autopsy shows that he was shot in the back of the leg .
    5:48:25 So ashley has told us , her first shot is of dougs back of right leg knee , autopsy states that the bullet came from the back of the leg to the front which means doug had his back towards ashley. Which demonstrates that doug never lunged at ashley as she is testifying in this day 4 trial. She she has lied to the court .
    And then after shooting doug in the back of the right leg, doug turned around to his right to see who shot him , he saw ashley there with the gun and then ashley shot him in the right side of the chest which forced him to fall back.
    It was 100% not self defense. She is guilty

    lol serious acting job. She gaslighted a vulnerable man who just lost his wife, got him to reverse his vasectomy, was super bratty re his teenage daughter, wanted a baby with the “abuser”, left him a few months pregnant, didn’t tell him she was having the baby, tried to get an injunction before the birth, after the birth, claimed child abuse, wanted him to move to Maryland with her family, did couples therapy, etc but she plays on the stand DV victim from 4 years ago. I’m a survivor and any survivor will tell you, we don’t live in trauma state 24 hours a day. We still work, some are mothers, cook, etc. None of her emotional outcry are organic. When ppl have recall memory, body movement leads words. Ppl making up a story, words come first then physical acting/demonstration. She’s a liar! • @francesca6301
      @francesca6301 Месяц назад

      Why didn't the prosecutor call the lead detective on this case? I think we've seen evidence that the victim was controlling and abusive. We've only got Ashley's word that it was self defense. But we have zero proof she pre-meditated this and no proof at all that it *wasn't* self defense. I know that abused women act in ways most of us wouldn't understand. I have a friend who still does her husband's laundry even though he flaunts his mistress in front of their kids. She's been abused for years and is completely financially dependent on him, so she complies and "goes along to get along" and just survives. Abusers do a number on the abusee's head. I'm not entirely sure what to believe in this case, but one thing I do believe is that the prosecution hasn't proven their case beyond a reasonable doubt, and I find a lot of their tactics to be incredibly shady. I'd vote to acquit based on that.

    I was in a relationship with an emotionally abusive, manipulative, jealous, gaslighting creep. And he didn’t physically harm me, but he would demonstrate his physicality to intimidate when angry - punching walls, etc. I finally had enough when he tried to manipulate my 3 year old because he didn’t like me getting along with her dad for the sake of having a healthy co-parenting relationship. I knew he had a handgun, and I called my mom that morning to come pick me up, because I was afraid of an “if I can’t have you nobody will.” I ended up being safe leaving, but he did end up being a stalker for a couple years, despite me going no contact and changing my number, made my life hell.

    AB that was the worst act ever!! Not one single tear!! You couldn’t even shed one tear for your daughter knowing you killed her loving father! Pure evil!! I pray the jury sees right through you! Please lord let justice be served!

    The ignorance and/or stupidity of some of the comments is mind boggling. Simply stated, the State of Florida did not prove its case, and Ashley Benefield was credible on the stand. 100% Not Guilty!

      Agree thats the states lawyers are bad. Where is their case? Why does it take two months for the state to put on karen reads case but these lawyers take two days and ask no probing questions of her??? Shes lying and will get away with it

      Welcome to 2024 where true crime followers form hate mobs.
      Back in the day, they would all be enjoying the witch trials and punishments.

    So when the “expert” was explaining how she can put on a show (in response to the video of them in the restaurant), does that mean they will look at her behaviour and how she’s currently putting on “show” in court. Especially when on the stand? I completely understand that every individual deals with various trauma in a multitude of ways, none of her accounts on what happened that day make sense. And the “fighting” stance 🤦🏽‍♀️ good lord. Most of us would run, since he had combat training he was likely getting ready to try and disarm her in a fight or flight response. Don’t get me wrong, I think his character is questionable from hurting his dog to putting his own needs before that of his daughter who was grieving the loss of her mother and then literally being thrown a “new” step mom whom was not in a position to parent since she hadn’t been a mother herself at the time or mature enough to have empathy, compassion and understanding of grief.
