@Pokemon2019- I have been Guuten Free since 2012. I have a acute sensitivity to gluten, but my dad is convinced it is in my head. I haven't felt better. On top of bodybuilding, I am gluten free, low carb, and fast intermittently. I weigh 165 pounds, & have 6% bodyfat, & have 6 pack abs! Gluten doesn’t both me. Oh and I use to invest in grass fed plants. Grass fed has a dirty little secret. It’s not really grass fed 99% of the time. More like grain fed but then grass finished. There is no USDA regulations that are actually enforced.
I struggled with the keto diet too much, I just felt exhausted. We're supposed to enjoy the food we eat and with keto that's close to impossible. That's why I tried the Agoge diet and it works great.

Thomas. Thanks for doing this video. Keto lifestyle just isn’t sustainable for me personally, but I do IF and am really trying to eat the healthiest carbs possible. It really helps to learn the best about the grains out there. I had thought that I was safe as long as I did whole grain. This sheds a little different view. Thanks again. Always wanting to learn more.

Oh my goodness Thomas! This explains why my gut was a mess. I knew my gut could not handle wheat. I cramp horribly but I did not know about rye , barley, farro, etc. My gut does not like these grains at all. Informative and enlightening video. Thank you.
Great information Thomas. When I was first diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes, the Doctor told me to have one piece of wholemeal bread a day. He later sent me to a Diabetes Dietitian. She told me to eat 2 slices of rye crispbread with every meal, 3 times a day. My blood sugars rocketed !!! I stopped seeing her, stopped seeing that Doctor and followed a LCHF diet then Keto. Needless to say, I am off Insulin Injections, A1c's are in normal range and I feel so much better. Lost 30 kilos in the process as well as increasing my kidney function. :) I was able to make this happen by learning from people like you on RUclips. Thank you !!

Since starting The Keto way of eating, I feel great and my GI tract is very happy. I wish everyone who has GI issues would just try this for a few weeks.I will never go back! Thanks for your informative videos!
1. Teff 2. Quinoa 3. Buckwheat - I had a bad immune response to all these. I tested each one as part of an elimination diet. Best recipe - no grain at all, any type.
There are animal models that shows glyphosate leads to depletion of glutathione which is important for immune function. Buckwheat in particular is one of the crop that is harvested using desiccation method, which is spraying with RoundUp before harvest. There are data that prove a good percentage of crops grown in North America are contaminated with glyphosate because of desiccation, even some organic ones (Tony Mitra). I recommend looking into supplementing with NAC (acetyl-cysteine) which help boost glutathione and immune function. It also have various other benefits. I have been hypothesizing it is just as beneficial as metformin without the negative effects, which is a statement that has not been evaluated by the FDA, except there an actual medical trial comparing the NAC vs merformin for insulin resistance and NAC shows greater benefit.

Thanks for the videos man. I'm about a week into Intermittent due to your videos and switched to only water for liquids. Holy crap things are changing fast 🔥
Yes I definitely like hearing the info on grains. I typically do not eat them at all anymore, but I do from time to time want some. I find this info to be very helpful.
I eat a Whole Food Plant based diet, and oats seem very popular, but I was wondering if they were preventing my weight loss. I will leave them out and see if it makes a difference. Thanks for the sound advice.
Very interesting... but for me, I react stronger to quinoa and oats than I do to wheat. Any idea why? My response is not in the stomach, it is in mass phlegm production the following morning. It takes a good hour or two to clear it all out. Dairy will make me start coughing almost immediately! Is that something different that you could shed some light on?
Yeah, Quinoa’s a hard no for me. It has my stomach in turmoil for at least 1-2 days. Also, it should be noted that wheat has also changed. German chemical company BASF owns the patent to the majority of wheat in this country. When a chemical company owns an edible commodity, that can’t bode well for consumers. Basically, I think the wheat has changed more, thus changing how our bodies react to digesting it.
This is so true. I’m moving towards a grain free diet. I started out slowly moving to gluten free losing 50lbs after being gluten free for a year and then lost the reminder by intermittent fasting. I’m happy with my weight but my immune system is still a struggle. I’ve gotten rid of rice and eat mostly root veggies for carbs. I take quinine and zinc every day this year and since a dramatic improvement to my immune system. My inflammation is gone unless I eat oats. Even gluten free certified oats bother me.
Thomas super vid as always: could u make a video about the relation between sweet taste in mouth and release of insulin. It appears on recent studies that even if ZERO calories, sweet taste could switch some sort of insuline response
good video, i've learnt a lot through your videos, and dr berg. changed my life. started gluten free 2 years ago. saw your carnivore diet video. spent 1000 hrs+ studying keto videos. thank you man!
Strange, I’ve been gluten free for a few months and I still have fatigue , tiredness , anxiety, and digestive issues... I’m doing the blood type o diet
Hey Thomas, another great video, my update on pigging out for two days, on the third day I worked out fasted & I had one of the best workouts in along time I had more endurance & a lot more strength. (Maybe I'm not eating enough in my eating window?) Today is my 20/4 eating window & no problem going back into fasting.
Question, what about sprouted brown rice and einkorn? Should children have these grains and oatmeal that is gluten free? How many carbs should children have a day? Hubby and I are on strict keto to get our health in line, but all kiddos are healthy and growing well. We don't do sugar except kombutcha. They use stevia for everything else and we are about as whole foods as possible. Thank-you for all your information.
I was on keto for about a year and a half. I stopped and my digestive system just has so much trouble with grains now. Makes sense. I’m trying to find a happy medium but it seems I still felt way better on keto.
Your videos about grains are top notch. I have lit being going over every single video on RUclips about grains and this is the best information so far. Without diving into details, if it walks like a duck, talks like a duck and sounds like a duck...it is a freakin duck. All those grains, beans, legumes and nuts have the same texture, hard as a rock and I wouldn't expect anything different from each one. I honestly don't think any of those are safe, especially if you have an autoimmune. Thank you for diving into details, it definitely helps with the brainwash which is what I need. To constantly remind myself this stuff is making me sick. Thank you and please do more videos about this subject. Grains, beans, legumes etc...💖
I want to live the keto lifestyle, but I can't do it. I have tried and tried, but no matter what I do, I am too wired and restless on the lifestyle...And because of that I cannot sleep and everything falls apart in my body. I am all about IF though...and whole foods...deleted refined sugars and processed crap from my diet and I am way better off. Thanks for the vid!
Correction, we haven't evolve enough to consume gluten. We've only been eating it for 2,000 years. Not enough for evolution. Is it really that or is it the way we process wheat in America? We use chemicals to dry the grains instead of old methods of drying and grinding wheels.
We've been eating different types of wheat for more than 4000 years. Archaeological record suggests that wheat was first cultivated in the regions of the Fertile Crescent even before that.
I'm skeptical. People have been eating wheat for thousands of years. I'm sure there is something wrong with the wheat though. What about the poisonous roundup they spray on wheat? What about the poisonous iron they add to most wheat products?
I agree. It's Biblical. 😄 I used to do fine with carbs before keto. I have no idea how my body would respond to a piece of bread after trying to clean up the gut for the last 2 years.
@@cbacon7813 count me on the skeptical side too. Grains are a large part of the foundation of the human diet and have been for quite a while. Maybe the way it's processed or grown is to blame. Maybe it's other factors in our diets. Maybe whatever is making us so fat is also affecting our immune system. Look at all of the drugs in circulation. I used to have problems with certain grains and peanuts before I started fasting. Maybe it's just too much food
Thomas, I've seen several of your videos and have gained a wealth of knowledge relating to intermittent fasting and health. I'm curious, do you have any suggestions for people who practice intermittent fasting and eat a whole food plant based diet? Thanks! - Ron
What about ancient grains? They are less processed and not so modified than the modern types of grain. We also have in Norway what we call black oats. Black oats have about 50 percent more unsaturated fat and 15 percent less carbohydrates compared to regular white oats. I am doing intermittent fasting 18-20 hours each working day. I am looking into Keto/Paleo, but I do not want to avoid grains completely. I love Pasta, Pizza, Hamburger and Taco (meals that has/uses some wheat). So for me to reduce wheat is the better option, and still be able to eat these meals.
This is the worst advice you’ve ever given out. There are no safe grains. The processed starches raise blood sugar faster and higher than even wheat flour. We aren’t evolving, we’re just eating way too much wheat flour because it’s literally saturating our processed food supply, and the gliadin protein can be found in breast milk thus exposing us even as infants. This had a lot of good technical information but ultimately came to the wrong conclusion. Listen to Dr. William Davis. Humans are not meant to eat the seeds of grasses. Archaeological evidence shows that grain consumption has been doing terrible things to human populations for thousands of years.
Well said and this doctor think teff is better? I say send him to ethiopia and see how malnourished they are because of teff literally depleting their iron and other minerals on daily basis!
After about 10 months keto, I reintroduced grains one at a time to see the effects. Holy wheat, dude. Overnight inflammation. Puffy eyes, swollen joints and feet, overall lethargy. Corn and rice have been fine in moderation, but wheat, without question, angered my body.
Great video Thomas! Hope you can answer this question. Are sprouted grains safe or something to be cautious about? I buy Ezequiel 4:9 (Sesame) organic sprouted grain bread. It contains sprouted wheat, sprouted barley, sprouted millet, malted barley, sprouted lentils, sprouted soybeans, sprouted spelt, organic wheat gluten, etc. Also, are sprouted soybeans estrogenic? Thank you!
Many thanks for this well explained and highly informative video. One question though: what about Einkorn wheat, which is an ancient form of wheat? I avoid wheat as I definitely notice an inflammatory reaction to it, but sourdough bread made with einkorn seems to be just fine.
Great breakdown, and easy to follow. You explained it well. Living in Japan I have to be vigilant when it comes to food. I have made the hard switch to quinoa instead of white rice. That is huge because white rice is integral to Japanese culture. I still eat some, for example when I go out to sushi (would be sacrilege to make sushi with quinoa). Anyway, great breakdown!! Will share for sure. I know since giving up bread and most dairy, I am feeling better (and have dropped a lot of weight).
Wat is your perspective on millet? I like the taste and could I use it instead of buckwheat or quinoa cause I really dislike the taste of those two. And what would be better, wild rice or millet?
Hi. I am new to your channel how do I calculate my protein, fats and carbs. Do you have a video on that? Do you know if raw homemade yogurt is keto friendly? Thank you!
As a Coeliac staying Grain Free is easier, other grains eg rice, could be cross contaminated and depends on how and where they’re stored? Gluten spells a trip to hospital for me. Thanks for the info’ though. 🥰
Can you do a video on sourdough bread? I've heard from multiple people that sourdough bread is okay because the fermentation breaks down the gluten and makes the minerals and vitamins more absorbable. I am so confused, they lost some weight as well on keto, but I don't know if sour dough is okay or not? They said it's low on the glycemic index.
I’m a Veteran with PTSD. I’m trying to eat good, exercise and be mindful of how I’m living, but just when I feel like I’m getting somewhere there’s more shit to get rid of. SMH!
Can you comment on the "sourdough" bread craze? For instance, there is an infodemic of misinformation out there right now that fermented sourdough (the homemade kind that takes 48-72 hours to make) somehow bypasses all the negative aspects of wheat. Is that true? Does home-made sourdough bread still cause inflammation? Again for clarification, I am specifically referring to the homemade sourdough bread where a person soaks the wheat with water overnight first, then adds a starter of some kind the next day, then bakes on the third day.
I feel 100% better on a gluten free diet. It was night and day for me.
The biggest question is always whether you’re gluten sensitive or sensitive to all the pesticides

Great information very informative love your Channel
Thanks for another great video. Would raw wheat germ fall under the wheat umbrella? Thanks!
Here's a list of grains that I can eat without triggering my autoimmune symtoms:
Oh right there's none...
😂😂😂😂😂😂
LOL. Love it.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Love the content!!!
There's the cookie monster and then tarah there's you the scientific monster 🤣 🤣🤣 love all your info👍great stuff
Great info, as usual!!!!
What about sourdough bread?
Thanks for this info! Me & my girl both have genes for celiac disease so we definitely want to learn more.
that was awesome thank you, exactly what I was looking for
After about 10 months keto, I reintroduced grains one at a time to see the effects. Holy wheat, dude. Overnight inflammation. Puffy eyes, swollen joints and feet, overall lethargy. Corn and rice have been fine in moderation, but wheat, without question, angered my body.
Good video. Please do more on this topoic.
Hello Thomas, what can you tell me about White corn used here in Guatemala to make Tortillas, its called nixtamal, great information, much bleesings
Thank you!

Hi @@elmerportillo6920, looks like TD completely ignored my question
Wild rice is actually a grass seed. It's just as high in total carb as brown rice, but a much higher percentage of it, like 90% vs 10%, is fiber.
Thank you. What about millet? It is not the same as teff, right?
I am 90% sure that teff is part of the family's millet. It is a kind of millet.
7:25 Tapioca flower. I want some!
OK I’m used to your keto focussed videos, this one left me a little bit confused. Is buckwheat keto friendly? Thank you
Hey Thomas what's the deal with sourdough bread? Is it truly the healthiest bread?
Brilliant
Powerful
Thank You
Namaste
Thanks for this!
Many thanks for this well explained and highly informative video. One question though: what about Einkorn wheat, which is an ancient form of wheat? I avoid wheat as I definitely notice an inflammatory reaction to it, but sourdough bread made with einkorn seems to be just fine.
I make sourdough einkorn from time to time too and seems to sit good with me! 👍 Super sensitive to regular wheat though!
I have also found that Spelt (another ancient form of wheat) works really well for me. Not sure what his take on it is though
What about oats?
Wat is your perspective on millet? I like the taste and could I use it instead of buckwheat or quinoa cause I really dislike the taste of those two. And what would be better, wild rice or millet?
100% grain free here. I always feel ick with grains now. I'm Keto though, always good to have the info!
KETO Diamond Channel Yeah, keto here as well. Finally got rid of my grain cravings, never going back to them.
What's the frequency Kenneth There are SO MANY keto “bread” recipes out there. Fat head being the most popular.
Interesting. We really need more science about grains
Amaranth is a good one in moderation in terms of digestion
What about Millet, Amaranth, and Sorghum.... I eat these....are these part of the good grains too?
What's your take on sorghum and the millets?
Grains are so bloating, hate them!
Good to know. Thanks!
What about gluten-free oats? Are those good to eat from time to time?
I’m a Veteran with PTSD. I’m trying to eat good, exercise and be mindful of how I’m living, but just when I feel like I’m getting somewhere there’s more shit to get rid of. SMH!
Thank you so much for your service! You may want to check out www.ptsduk.org/ketogenic-diet
Very informative
Can you comment on the "sourdough" bread craze? For instance, there is an infodemic of misinformation out there right now that fermented sourdough (the homemade kind that takes 48-72 hours to make) somehow bypasses all the negative aspects of wheat. Is that true? Does home-made sourdough bread still cause inflammation?
Again for clarification, I am specifically referring to the homemade sourdough bread where a person soaks the wheat with water overnight first, then adds a starter of some kind the next day, then bakes on the third day.
Thomas, make a video on how to use blood sugar devices
