    Robb would sit in his chambers and meditate/warg for long periods of time during the war. He scouted out the goat path in the westerlands this way.

    To be honest I don't think the Starks needed to pick up magical abilities by marrying in any other WARG families, Bran the builder was almost certainly a powerful sorcerer and its likely they've always had the ability in their line.

    • @wafflingmean4477
      @wafflingmean4477 5 лет назад

      That would actually be an amazing plotline for the Winds of Winter, with Jon actually spending time within Ghost and witnessing his own resurrection as he re-enters his body. The thing is though, does a warg have to consciously enter their animal as they die or does it just happen? If I'm remembering right, Varamyr for a brief moment partially warged with every animal and tree in the forest around him, then focused on his pack of wolves. But he didn't exactly get to pick which one. He got the one he wanted, the leader of the pack, but he didn't really control it. It kind of happened on instinct. If Jon goes through something similar, could he by instinct reach out to the only thing that could in a way mean his survival, Ghost? And if he did, would he be drawn back to his body as life returned to it, or would the resurrection just make his body braindead as he was forced to look on through Ghost? Jon also resisted his warging so that might have been enough to prevent the instinct to go to Ghost.

    At the Battle of Oxcross in season 2 episode 4, it is very heavily implied that Robb is warged into Grey Wind when he ambushes the Lannister sentries at the start of the battle. But by season 3 onwards, it seems like they _kinda forgot_ that any of the Starks other than Bran could do it.
    If they ever do that Arya-in-the-west spinoff that folks want, and apparently GRRM would like (but HBO don't want for some reason) they should blatantly show her warging something early on just to get it out of the way.

    When Mel has said the resurrection prayer and given up thinking it's not going to work and left the room, just before Jon does come back to life, Ghost perks up. Obviously, this is because Jon's "soul" or what have you, was pulled back out of Ghost and back into his body, preparatory to him being resurrected. Thus Ghost's own wolf mind re-asserts itself, and he gets up and looks around.

(Sorry, I'm too lazy to look up the actual quote, but it's there.) If bran can go into people I'd say that make him a skinchanger

      All wargs are skinchangers, but not all skinchangers are wargs.

    Considering game of thrones takes place in a society that would be is pre industrialization. 1 in 1,000 is less than you think, they don't have places with huge populations of billions like China.

    Wargs can go into the mind of other animals & Bran went into a human's mind.A skin changer literally changes themselve's into the animal that It Is its not somthing else who shares its mind ther is a big difference.

    • @MaynardCrow

      Not in A Song of Ice and Fire. In this world, a warg is specifically a skinchanger who binds with a wolf. Skinchangers enter the mind and body of other living creatures.

    So if one in every thousand is born a skinchanger. Does that mean that there's about 1000 skinchanger in Kingsland alone, apparently there's about a million people in the city... That aslo means that there is 1 greenseer in the city... Freaky

      The trait only appears in people with the blood of the first men, because they interbred with the children of the forest before the Andals came. It originates with the children of the forest.
