So much content for potential spin-offs. I hate the idea of having all of this lore remaining unexplored. Game of Thrones only showed maybe 1/10 of all the races, and I still got 3 mintues of the video left.
Congrats, mate, this was quite well done. One point about the giants: they definitely interbred with humans and created the "half-bloods" as described by Old Nan in the first book. She even described that the females who gave birth to these halfbloods were the giants who liked to take human males to mate, bc the other way was too painful. It's a passage that most women readers will never forget lol
@Dr Boom it's said that Ibbenese rarely get above 5'5", which happened to be the average height for a Neanderthal male. They have sloping foreheads and large brow ridges. The only thing about them that's not very Neanderthal-like is their dark hair, although it wasn't known that Neanderthals were probably gingers until 2007, well after GRRM started writing his series.
You forgot the Lhazareen, a peaceful culture of shepherds that are commonly raided by the Dothraki. Mirri Maz Duur was Lhazareen. You also missed the Moraqi of Great and Lesser Moraq and the Jade Islanders from Marahai. Edit: oh and also the Elephant Islanders, which is essentially Essos’ India.
Can you do all the sell-sword companies, histories, major characters, and roles during ASOIF? I had a hard time keeping up with who’s who and what they were doing while reading.
I would love to hear more about Essos, it's so fascinating. The show just made it seem like it was all Dothraki, Bravosi and slavers. But it's so much more than that!
“The Old Ones”.... who reside in ruins... thoughts to be gods...... drive those who visit the ruins mad........... I feel as though this is Martin’s way of doing a shoutout and that’s pretty cool.
Just one of several. He uses a lot of Lovecraft references for places and people. Like the Deep Ones sounding like references to the fish people in the Shadow over Innsmouth. Not to mention things like the abandoned city made of oily black stone that not even the forest or wild life dare to claim or even approach.
Alright, here's my pitch. A spin-off that takes place before the doom of Valyria and starts with a disillusioned noble's son stricken with wanderlust. It's his duty to take the mantle of his father the dragon lord, but he could care less about being the leader of one of the 40 noble families. So He runs away with his trusty dragon and lover in the hopes of exploring the world beyond Valyria. On his adventures, he makes new friends, has some close encounters, and ultimately find what he'd been looking for after exploring all 3 continents. It ends with him as an old man with his wife and kids living on an island just far enough to watch the doom consume the first home he'd ever known. Just think about how much content there is to work within the GOT books. The cameo opportunities are limitless. He could meet unsullied, faceless men, giants, dwarfs, Dothraki, Asians, Dark magicians, Flame priests, summer island black people, children of the forest, and even ancient families like the Starks/Targaryans. Plus it can answer a bunch of questions like why magic isn't as common as it used to be, or how advanced were the Valyrians
Hope those that survived the war in Westeros migrated back to the Dothraki Sea, they should never have gone across the poison water, and instead focus on being a bit more peaceful, ending their infighting, and only raiding enemies
It's most likely due to misinformation. Everything we know about the world is based on westerosi knowledge and because barely anyone went east of the bone mountains, its likely that there is a lot of misinformation spread around.
It was the case in our world too. Romans and Greeks believed that further east of Persia, before India and China, there were Yetis, people with one giant foot used as an umbrella, cyclops... In medieval Europe people believed that in roughly what is known as Siberia, there were Caine's descendants
When you think about the Magic of Dragons and the Nightking ytou think the world is doomed. In the far east which people dont even know about, there could be even crazier magic and monsters
In Yi Ti there are the Five Forts, which are built between Yi Ti and the Grey Waste. They built these massive forts to keep something out of their lands. I wonder what it is that scared them so much to build these forts.
Okay, but I would love to see a G.O.T. spinoff about the counties on the easter most part of Essos. Yi Ti sounds awesome to learn about, and I'd love to see what other countries think about the events that happened in Westeros
Taylor Jakes a youtuber called Maximillionmus started a thing where he got all his subscribers to change this to their profile pic and on every video we spammed “oh yea yea”, that was months ago now though so it’s died down but some still have the profiler because we’re to lazy to change it back hahaha
There are still Rhoynar left in Essos, Griff and Jon Connington had some in their crew when they were hiding out. I think there are a good number of Rhoynar, but the majority are Valyrinized down in Volantis or they are highly spread out in small numbers (less than 1 million).
It's very obvious that almost everything there is heavily inspired by medieval, renaissance and victoria-era fantasized orient/past. The mazemakers are the "cylopeans" for instance. Hykoon is Herakles. And so on. Which means that it wouldn't make a lot of sense to have a spin-off in one of those many regions - their whole purpose is to remain mysterious. This is why the further you go, the stranger it becomes. One of the biggest themes of the books and the show is the clash between a believable medieval-like world with its intrigues and politics, and a magical world with prophecies, chosen ones and dragons. One of the last things that happened in the show is precisely "what happens once the chosen one(s) defeat the big bad evil?". If the "magical" world becomes mundane, then the whole structure of GRR Martin's universe collapses.
Absolutely love your vids, man. Now I can brag about this stuff and say that I’m ASOIF scholar 😂 All jokes aside though, keep up the awesome work bro 🤙🏼
I think a story of a westerosi or es soso adventurer settling in Naath for someone he or she fell in love with and tragically succumbing to the butterfly disease would make for a pretty sick story/spin-off/tale in the lore.
2:47 i remember reading in the books that one valyrian person left the islands of valyria and went west, thus the reason of the daynes having purple eyes
i think one of the stark lords who had a passion for voyage travelled west only to never return....and the stark heir was so sad that he destroyed the entire stark navy....which is the reason why House Stark doesn't have a navy anymore...
The show is based on the books, and it already leaves out a shit ton of interesting characters and sub-plots. How would they have included extra stuff that we don't even know much about? Hahaha
This world is so fantastical to me. I am absolutely obsessed with planetos, and want so much more. I want histories and books, and there is just so much here. I have never been a fantasy person so perhaps my excitement is juvenile, but damn I just love it so much.
Seeing that there is no mention and interbreeding horse with zebras, or any mention of zebras at all, it is likely that zorses in asoiaf are not hybrids, but just zebras.

So much content for potential spin-offs. I hate the idea of having all of this lore remaining unexplored. Game of Thrones only showed maybe 1/10 of all the races, and I still got 3 mintues of the video left.
can you do a video on all the religions in game of thrones?
or just the main ones if there are too many.
Already done
Praise the Black Goat of Qohor ⭐️🐐
@@abrahamp1203 Really? Cuz i looked and couldn't find one. :(
Congrats, mate, this was quite well done. One point about the giants: they definitely interbred with humans and created the "half-bloods" as described by Old Nan in the first book. She even described that the females who gave birth to these halfbloods were the giants who liked to take human males to mate, bc the other way was too painful. It's a passage that most women readers will never forget lol
I think you forgot about the fish-like people on the Isle of Toads
That's in sotheros (however you spell it)
How do u know all this it’s not in the show??
@@alanood1656 the books...
@@alanood1656 the a world of ice and fire book.
Dothraki have copper skin, not amber. that's how the books usually describe them.
Yep. It's the Ghiscari who have amber-ike skin.
Ibbenese are like the dwarves from Lord of the ring
That was what I thought, too. Tolkein is a big influence on GRRM.
They sound more like Neanderthals
Dwarves were never known for their seamanship or their fishing abilities. I agree they have physical similarities though.
More like maritime Neanderthals
He also forgot the bloodless men close to the winged men.
Danny kinda forgot about all these races
Where is Elephant island located in essos? South of Yi Ti?
@@dvn_dra1654 kinda but like waaaaaayy south. Closer to Sothoryos

Can you do all the sell-sword companies, histories, major characters, and roles during ASOIF?
I had a hard time keeping up with who’s who and what they were doing while reading.
Hahaha that video would last like a week but I'd totally watch it all
I think civilization ex did that a long time ago.
Hahah Djani bratee! To je too!
I’d love to learn more about the farther easterners beyond the mountain range that practice necromancy 😯
Shout out To who?
Terrence Summerour H.P. Lovecraft
I was thinking you meant American Gods they refer to themselves as the old ones or the ancient ones
@@thebonecollections4478 that is Neil Gammain's shout out to one of his favorite authors, HP Lovecraft!
Just one of several. He uses a lot of Lovecraft references for places and people. Like the Deep Ones sounding like references to the fish people in the Shadow over Innsmouth. Not to mention things like the abandoned city made of oily black stone that not even the forest or wild life dare to claim or even approach.
In the show version Salladhor Saan is from the Summer Isles and part Lys also the Grey Worm, Xaro Xhoan Daxos is also from the Summer Isles.
Its funny that all these are just a fantasy or imagination of one creative man
You're honestly the most underrated GoT/ASOIAF youtuber out there. I love your videos.
Sounds legit
This would be an excellent spinoff. That's another few years worth of a show.
Cliche
ImtheONE lmao how so? I can’t think of a single show with a remotely similar plot

They didn't all die. They sure made it look like that, but they were in the battle yesterday.
Hope those that survived the war in Westeros migrated back to the Dothraki Sea, they should never have gone across the poison water, and instead focus on being a bit more peaceful, ending their infighting, and only raiding enemies
So the further east you go the more messed up they are
It's most likely due to misinformation.
Well, Yi Ti is the most prosperous country based on what i read.
Yi Ti is a very civilised and powerful nation but yes they are the odd ones out
Always happy to see a new Video by you!🤘
Your channel is the best, keep it up! Love your videos.
Thank you for making this video!
This is so fascinating how many of these were inspired by our world's cultures including behavior or appearance.
I loved it thanks man 🙏! I’m so glad you kept adding as you remembered? 🥰
Can you imagine if the show had attempted to explore every region in George’s world? It would have run 20 years!

As always awesome content man thanks for the time and effort you put into this all
Thanks Nolan
A fresh upload just as I browse the channel for videos. 😤😤
Zorses are not zebras, they are zebras and horses hybrids
Was searching the comments for this fact!
There is so much lore here. We need a spinoff of a grown Arya venturing out to these places
The Thousand Islanders look like inspired by Orcs too me.
Nice video! Realy interesting. Could you do a video on the religions in game of thrones?
Its coming! Just give me a few weeks
whycreate cant wait
Brilliant video as always, these are the exact game of thrones videos I need
what is your profile pic from? I see it everwhere
Taylor Jakes a youtuber called Maximillionmus started a thing where he got all his subscribers to change this to their profile pic and on every video we spammed “oh yea yea”, that was months ago now though so it’s died down but some still have the profiler because we’re to lazy to change it back hahaha
You are doing gods work
Finally I always wanted a video about races in a song of ice and fire
There are still Rhoynar left in Essos, Griff and Jon Connington had some in their crew when they were hiding out. I think there are a good number of Rhoynar, but the majority are Valyrinized down in Volantis or they are highly spread out in small numbers (less than 1 million).
My guess is that most of the "non-noble" population of Volantis, Tyrosh and the like is of Rhoynar origin, but do not know their culture.
TheFiresloth Exactly, it’s mostly Valyrinized assimilated Rhoynars living around Volantis.
The Summer Islanders and Naathi deserve a series that focuses on them..
why?
@@bw8450 why not?
@@ChromaticEagle Idk but im not stating that they deserve a series.
Just subscribed to your channel bro, luv your vids. Very detailed and informative. Looking forward to more ✊🏾😎💯
The ibbenese almost seem like dwarves
Would make a great open world MMO game
whocarez98 yup
It just kind of crazy how big the world GRMM created.
Really loved this analysis!!😘
Woah this show is so diverse. No wonder everyone loves it. I got to watch it
The show's pretty much the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the lore. Read the books, they're amazing :D (the show is nice as well)
My brain is spinning from all this information
This is so interesting, it’s absolutely amazing how a person can come up with such detailed fantasy world.
a spinoff series about a cartographer dragon rider encountering all of these cultures would be pretty cool! could make a nice legend of an adventurer
Absolutely love your vids, man. Now I can brag about this stuff and say that I’m ASOIF scholar 😂
All jokes aside though, keep up the awesome work bro 🤙🏼
You forgot some, like the basiliki, who are darker than the Summer Islander.
Your voice is pretty calming my dude
I think a story of a westerosi or es soso adventurer settling in Naath for someone he or she fell in love with and tragically succumbing to the butterfly disease would make for a pretty sick story/spin-off/tale in the lore.
The blanket term “Asian” used to descibed Yi Ti felt off to me. There are many different ethnicities in Asia.
They should make a Tv show or film out of all this!!
2:47 i remember reading in the books that one valyrian person left the islands of valyria and went west, thus the reason of the daynes having purple eyes
Very well edited.
I wonder whats west of westeros. If there is anything out there, that'd make westeros centeros!
Unless the world is actually flat like a piece of paper then there is always something to the west.
Even more Westeros
Watch alt shift X video on that, their are three small islands way out west
i think one of the stark lords who had a passion for voyage travelled west only to never return....and the stark heir was so sad that he destroyed the entire stark navy....which is the reason why House Stark doesn't have a navy anymore...
The Great Kaboom is inevitable Im afraid...
Qaathi is the ethnicity. Qartheen refers to people from Qarth.
Yea their a really interesting people
Love their hypocrisy. They only made it big since four hundred years or so, but they like to posture themselves as that ancient, wise civilization ^^
What about Ulthos, Skagos, and the Unicorns of that island they allegedly ride? Also, the "Squishers" around Crack Claw Point? Great video!
Great video. Thanks
Instead, Westeros is hyper-focused on, and is the size of Detroit... The show missed out!
Sir Knight Errant Why should I? You’re no King of mine-just a knight!
The show is based on the books, and it already leaves out a shit ton of interesting characters and sub-plots. How would they have included extra stuff that we don't even know much about? Hahaha
wouldn't this world be a lot less interessting without all those different races?
Love your vids
I’d love if a spin off would explore the oceanic races and their evolved politics.
11:01 yesss✊🏿
So many races in GAMES OF THRONES WORLD...very interesting.,perhaps a spinoff of to games of thrones..will be great.
Love the video can you make one of the real world equivalents of all the islands and continents
This world is so fantastical to me. I am absolutely obsessed with planetos, and want so much more. I want histories and books, and there is just so much here. I have never been a fantasy person so perhaps my excitement is juvenile, but damn I just love it so much.
HBO just give me SOMETHING, anything that uses this great potential will satisfy me, animation or real-life action.... just give me something PLEASE!
Zorses aren’t zebras in asoiaf. They are a hybrids that became their own species.
And they're actually a thing IRL.
Where did you get this info from. I cant remember anything suggesting that inasoiaf.
The World of Ice & Fire book. In the ‘THE PLAINS OF THE JOGOS NHAI’ section.
But IRL, zorses can’t reproduce. They are sterile.
