Tried them last night along with the i230. The new g430 is the first game improvement club that goes a mile without giving flyers. Spectacular clubs.
Just had my first ever irons fitting and these were by far the most forgiving for me, as a newer golfer. Cant wait till my set arrives!
Just tried these out this morning, as I’m a 66 year old female, with various arthritic issues. It was wonderful to hit the standard loft 7 iron 20 yards further than my existing P770’s. Admittedly it’s a lower loft, but I also found them so much easier to hit. Used the 35gm quick shaft, helped me enormously.
Love the look of these.
Good review Michael. Those are nice looking irons. I've always been a Ping fan.
Like how Ping has Game Enjoyment Irons 😀
I didn’t know that
Good job! Want your swing!
I love how ping makes their irons sound! I am in the market for a new set of irons, I just upgraded my woods to the G425s when they went on sale and these G430s are at the top of my list! Great review and information!
Just ordered mine today. Got fitted and these were the best out of all the major brands. The ball goes a mile, I was hitting my 7 iron 200-205 yards and the ball actually went straight. I’ve never done that in my life. Amazing what’s happens when you get the right fit and the right clubs.
I just got fitted yesterday for them as well. I too was hitting 7 iron 200! I get them in a couple of weeks, I honestly hope they aren’t too long… but they are fun to hit.
Great review as usual!
You seemed to hit these incredibly straight with awesome spin numbers
Those are really good numbers.
Nice review. I think I prefer look of 425 over this one. Back looks very busy and techy. Love to see these up again 923 Hot Metals
Thanks for another fantastic review Michael, ping just flat out makes excellent clubs
Ping has been my brand since high school. I will never play another brand as Ping has always been exceptionally solid for me these last 25+ years
Ho mate good review I would like to see you on course testing clubs
I agree with so many wedges best to start with the 6 iron
This is because they mislabeled this set... wanna fix it? You buy 5-gap wedge 430 Okay now just pretend what you bought was ACTUALLY 4-P would you play the 4 iron? as someone who needs this set probably not so drop the 5 like you said and get you Second gap wedge... I wish ping didn't label this set this way. 300 dollars more for this silly jumble of a mess.
Would love to see you go back to the g25s hit those and see the difference vs 430s. Hit a 7 iron and wedge. Curious the difference in yardage and spin rate and decent. My biggest take away would be which one keeps the ball stopping the quickest without running out. Thanks
I did this today old clubs G25 7 iron 160 total, 430 hit a 7 180 lol 167 yard carry!
@@danielanthony1201 so the g 25 had better spin rate/ stayed on the green where as the g430 ran off the green? Please advise. Thanks
@@brodygoalie At the fitting he adjusted the exact lie of the club so it would not roll off when hitting the green. The 430s just launch like crazy compared to the g25.
With the added wedge it looks like 6iron or 7 iron may be the start of game improvement sets. Saw Paradym X irons also have a 2nd gap wedge.
6-gap wedge? Stronger lofted irons mean more wedges and fewer woods or hybrids so not really sure they make sense. Would be nicer if the retro lofts eliminated one wedge
@@paulmcgee1867 Yes this set has an extra gap wedge built in vs a traditional set to offset the stronger lofts, you have to put a yardage # with these clubs and not a club #. Paradym X is a 27.5 7 iron and I was hitting that 200-205 yards in a 7 iron which is literally my 5 hybrid. Set also used 2 gap wedges, These sets don't need 4 or 5 irons.
This is why I buy secondhand
Stick to my g15 irons always great numbers. Just less loft
Awesome content as usual, now... WHERE IS OUR G430 MAX VS TSR2 VIDEO?????
It will be coming 😃
We need the comparison videos!! 👍🙏🙏🙏🙏🙌🙌🙌💯💪
Bet the Srixon ZX4 irons would be as good if not better. Less expensive, better looking and lofts not as strong.
It’s possible
Nope ping g430 blow them out of the water
29* is a 6 iron
41* pw
I’m sure they’re awesome but illusion of extra distance from STRONGER lofts
It makes sense for this category most beginner golfers tend to struggle more with contact when you get to 6 and 5 iron. Juice up the easier clubs to hit and with the extra wedge 7-lw is a true beginner's set.
@@jetro7349 I get why they did it but not everyone is a beginner. And yes most high handicappers tend to underclub. I have the G425 irons and they're fantastic. But I'm not going to tough the G430s. That is just ridiculous and I don't want to think my PW is a 9 iron everytime I grab it.
Time for traditional iron numbers to be discarded. At this rate, a seven iron will be 20 degrees loft in a few years and there will be another couple of extra wedges! Just put the degrees loft on the bottom of the club.
@@zazhou I dont agree, you get use to what the number translates to for distance and its what everyone talks about they dont say im using my 27 degree club, They say 6 iron.
@@jetro7349 These are not beginners clubs, they are for anyone who wants to use them after around a 5+ handicap or so. Below that then you want to have more ability to hook and slice when you need to. So ya a pro would not use them but guys like me (Im a 6 hdcp) could and Id be fine with having that forgiveness without giving up spin.
Pw spin is bit low
It’s a nine iron 😂
The lofts are over the top strong..... but hey whatever works for the individual.
Depends on how many wedges you can afford
Basically a 7 iron length, 6 iron loft with 8 iron flight. Helps those who don’t deliver the club with enough shaft lean - the target market for these.
@@lawbinson Well said..... That is 90+ % of golfers
I must watch again, the sweater distracted me so much. Did you lose a bet mate?
🤦♂️
Now I have noticed 🤦♂️
