- Oh boy.. well here is my first time reaction to Tom MacDonald. You guys have recommended Tom MacDonald to me a few times so here is a reaction to his newest song DIRTY MONEY.
Not gonna lie I wasn't entirely sure what to expect but this was DEFINITELY not the reaction I thought was going to happen with Tom MacDonald. Let me know what you guys think of this and what other songs of Tom MacDonald I should react to.

Tom Is 100% independent. He writes all his songs. Makes all his beats, Sometimes gets help with his Hooks from his Girlfriend Nova Rockafeller (Also a music artist) She also Directs, films and Edits all of his music Videos.
Most of their videos are built and fillmed in their home and backyard.
Tom McDonald is mostly known for his political songs like Fake Woke, Snow flakes and New world Order. But has a very diverse catalog.
The song that pushed him into popularity was Dear Rappers.
He sells hundreds of thousands of Cd's a year that containe music you can't find anywhere else
Some of my favorite songs from him are Best Rapper Ever, This house, In God we Trust, I Wish and Names.

Tom's lived there full time for 8-9 years & owns a beautiful home in California. In Canada where he had (His Alcohol Addiction/Pill Addiction/Severe Mental Breakdown) Tom could only take his music so far here in Canada. If Tom really wanted to get anywhere in his career he had to move to the U.S & has his dual citizenship as well. After living in Canada & travelling the World Tom says he feels like America is his home & that's amazing, but he learned to Rap & was born & bred here in Canada. You can call him an American Artist if you like, but in reality he is a Canadian Artist who feels at home in America which is a beautiful thing. Living the "American Dream"✌🇨🇦 🇺🇸

Tom's Alcohol Addiction/Pill Addiction/Mental Breakdown which incredibly Tom survived, lucky to be alive & is 100% sober now. Going from the hood & gutter in Crenshaw to with the help of Hang Over Gang, employing his Sister who was a nurse, his brother in law & moving his Mother & Father out to California from Canada. They've tried to "Cancel" him before, but when Tom owns ALL of his masters & has no sponsors & is not signed to a Major Label after turning ALL of the Major Labels down after meeting with them, there's little anyone can do to "Cancel" him. I was honestly in a depressed black pilled mood first time I heard Tom. A coworker played it on a few hour work trip and said if it bothered me to just let him know and he could change it. I was like WHO THE FUCK IS THIS GUY. First mainstream music (I had quit listening to anything new in like 2014 because it all sucked so much and shilled for whatever narrative globohomo was pushing at the time). Was not shocking, it was like 75% of my own views being talked about in songs. But at the same time it was shocking to hear for the first time. I just turned it up and told him to keep playing whoever the hell was singing.

Always best to start from the beginning, " Dear Rappers" was the one that set him off, he has a few videos before that but that's the one that launched him. Wait till you hit "This House" and "Don't look down".
Your description of Tom as someone who says what everyone is thinking but lack the balls to say is shared by many upon first hearing his music. I feel like these lyrics from one of his older songs succinctly give general context to that appraisal: "I've been medicated, hated myself and couldn't escape it / Now I face what I'm afraid of, embrace all the confrontation..."

Sometimes his songs terrify me in the best way. Check his song "The System". Also, he wrote a surprising #1 love song for his partner Nova Rockefeller called "Ghost". And then there is the wild sci-fi/rap/country mashup called "The End of the World". An earlier song "Buttholes" is funny and extremely sharp... one of my favourites. Welcome to the deep end of the pool, Come on in it is full of people who love the truth being told. Looking forward to seeing you do more Tom and Nova.
He's got so many songs with catchy hooks. He's a versatile artist. He does political songs but also songs on mental illness/depression and other things. He's done rap, rock, mixes of both. He even did a pop song for his girlfriend who directs his videos. You will see his family members in some of his videos, his mom, his dad, his sister, his girlfriend and even his girlfriend's dad is in at least one of the videos. He usually comes in pretty fast with his songs so you usually have to be ready. He's coming in jam packed full of facts. You never know what you're going to expect with each song from him. Watching interviews with him, I've only come to respect him much more than just watching his videos. He interacts with many of his fans and other reactors, comments on their reaction videos at times and just overall, a really cool dude.
We need his voice just as we need to let our voices be heard as well. He spoke the TRUTH plain and simple.

Not all of his music is political/controversial - he tackles topics like mental health, addiction & recovery, music industry or sometimes just flexes to push back on haters. He has some very uplifting songs & constantly stresses the need for unity among the people. His music videos are only a portion of his catalogue and each year he releases his physical albums, has a global fanbase and is truly 100% fully independent. Tom doesn't just rap so you never know what genre or topic you will get. Also, since you are a rock/metal chick I would suggest Ashes. Most of Tom's music has a bit of rock embedded with in it, that track is 100% rock while he raps over it.

One of the reasons why Tom's lyrics grab hold of you so fast and push the music into the background of your mind is because he doesn't do much of a musical intro for most of his stuff. He comes in fast and hard and never lets up with his truth-bomb bars. His physical appearance is as imposing as it is because he used to be a professional wrestler.

Love your observation about how much Tom draws you into the lyrics. I feel the same way; I usually focus way more on the instrumental elements of music, but Tom is the only artist who makes me focus on the words instead (not to undersell the other parts of his music, but the lyrics are next level)
