Wow. I think everyone watching this says "wow" either in their head or out loud. Amazing content, presentation and most importantly, the PRACTICAL tip. Perfecto!
Hi Matt, I like what you did in this video. My application will be a live stream for product demos. Is it possible to set up the template in such a way that it uses the live stream instead of a pre recorded videos? If you have an instructional video for that please share.
Hey Matt, one question- Are you actually going to cut up the compound clip when ready to edit, or rather, open the timeline within the clip and do the cutting there? My gut tells me that the compound clip would be cut, since in timeline view you wouldn't be able to see graphics/overlays that are in Main timeline. But then again, Wouldn't cutting up the compound clip then make it more difficult to make global changes to say... colour? Thanks man :)
Yes, I would cut the compound clip in this workflow, not the media inside. And if I need to make global changes to the color of the compound, I would use remote grades to affect every instance of the clip. You can learn how this works here: ruclips.net/video/JM6WIp_23F8/видео.htmlsi=jRxXgiMbOmyJGBfO&t=561
This is amazing and I cannot quantify how greatful I am, it really helped me! just one question: My timeline will have multiple clips, is there anyway to save the transition effects between clips? When I delete the placehorder clips the transitions are deleted as well. Thanks in advance!
Unfortunately, the transition uses footage and needs a source to work on, so if you delete the source, the transition will follow. You can use the compound clips and replace the video inside if you don’t want it to break your project template.
In my videos, I have footage of me talking, switching to my screen with my voiceover; this goes back and forth till I show all new features. I use a push transition each time. Is there a way to integrate this into my template so I don't have to set the transition with settings every time?
You can right-click the transition preset in your effects library and use ‘Set as Standard Transition’ option from there. Then if you add a transition (Cmd+T on Mac) your preset will be used instead of the default Cross Dissolve.
Great work! I would L-O-V-E to see tutorials on the Color applied (color nodes) for these clips and the Audio settings (Plugins). Your tutorial was fast forwarded during these sessions. :)
I was really looking for thig... thanks a mill! Love it... It would be great if #Blackmagic can give us this feature as a simple "Save Project as Template" function that can ask a simple set of wizard questions, or a dialogue with options to include in the template and then voila... it will be so cool, perhaps another "stickiness" function that could be unique to DR. And hopefully it will be available on both the iPad version and Desktop version.
Dang, the effect of intro part is really cool
This was really well made. concise without unnecessary skipping on my behalf (I hate editing videos, by skipping to the parts that are avoidable)

@@motionvfx Thank you for taking time to reply. Yeah that's what I ended up doing I'm just replacing the placeholders with the clips.
Love this Thanks

Thank you so much! Glad it was helpful:) Let's hope Blackmagic considers implementing your ideas soon!
Wow, the way how you explain things is eye catching. Fantastic video. Great job man. Subscribed. :)
Well the intro made me stay, I was gonna go because of the 18 minute mark, but I'm watching all the way through
Thanks for staying with us!
I'm 3 days in Resolve 😱I have so much to learn it's worrying.
There's nothing to be afraid of! For starters, please check our DaVinci Resolve Academy playlist, it's a good start 👉🏻 mvfx.co/DVRAcademy
Neat idea on the intro :) , but your hand should have been in focus, or the element should have been blurred. :)
Should've switched to hand-tracking AF 😅
This is. IT
🙌🏻🚀
oh man I missed this cool intro on the first watch... don't call it intro people just skip intros
