What I like about your ohotography is you are not afraid to take images in the middle of the day. Sometimes it seems that some think world is not a beautiful place except for at sunrise and sunset.
Its bcoz he is a professional and the equipment he have along alowed to take photos on day time, if me even on phone camera all its was only high brightness without colour details
Thank you Attilio for helping me to be a much better person who is trying at 75 years of age to be a better photographer. Your attitude is why I watch every suggestion/ tutorial and idea. Stay safe. Thank you.
Great stuff and amazing photos... Still there is something that I think you forgot to mention and that is to disengage any stabilisation system whether attached to the lens or to the sensor or both whenever making a tripod assisted long shutter photography. Otherwise shooting long exposures with any stabilisation system being active will result in less sharp images due to the compensation mechanism of the system
Grazie mille per le dritta/consiglio..! Your pictures and videos with valuable tip/hints are perfect..! Everything explained with a lot of sympathy..! Salute di Germania..!
Again, excellent presentation. Love the way you are using. Point by point, clear, easy to understand, accurate. Your photos are amazing. No bla bla is so funny. Some other photographer on RUclips are taking 80% of time blablaing and 20% for tips, tricks and final results ! Thanks again and go for a good wine and pasta !
Wonderful video! Superb instruction! You have an easy-going style that facilitates learning. Today watching this video, it hit me like a lightning bolt that this guy is an expert and you should listen to what he has to say. Many times, in life we are drawn to the person that shouts, screams and demands attention only later to find out that they were not the experts we thought they were. Attilio you are a breath of fresh air. Thank you.
Thank you, thank you for speaking so clearly... even if my English is getting rusty I can understand almost the 80 % of your tutorials. I like Long exposure photography and I hope to take new photos when this bloody Covid will have gone. Thanks very much for sharing
Attilio, I cannot express my gratitude enough for your videos. As a passionate photographer who is looking to grow in landscapes, I get excited when I see you posted a new video. Thank you for all the continuous effort -it has been well worth it.
Best one yet. I was not happy with many of my first pictures whenI was starting out. Once I paid attention and started using the best F stop for my lens things really improved.
Another great learning experience. I need to write all these things down and keep them in my camera bag. Thanks again. Looking forward to the next video.
@@AttilioRuffo yes please Attilio, a Time Lapse tutorial, I need to know how to deal with the wind shaking by camera during a slow shutter speed Time Lapse..and what to do to prevent the judder that results from the wind shaking the camera......it keeps ruining my time lapses....how do you prevent that in your Time lapses? thank you in advance!!!
@@07087joenj in order to help alleviate a shaking tripod, ensure you hang some weight off the tripod hook. Your camera bag loaded with hear works perfectly for this. Add's additional stability to the tripod. Not going to help much if the wind is blowing hard, but it does help. Also try not to walk near the tripod when shooting long exposures. Set it and keep out of the way, especially if on sandy beaches. :)
That is good advice about the aperture. I always used the tightest one on the camera for landscape for fear of something in the foreground or background getting out of focus.
Attilio, I was at Lake Tahoe on April 29th. Sorry I missed you! It is such a wonderful location for photography and just plain "being there". Had to do all of my shots hand-held as I committed a cardinal sin; didn't bring my tripod! Enjoy your instructional videos, please keep them coming!
I like your uploads. Im into woodlands photography and in a process of upgrading my Nikon F-system to a used D850 and a Zeiss milvus 25mmF1.4. I have a D700 today. I use only primes.
Grazie infinite 500px.com/photo/1002883992/Sunrise-Torre-del-Lago-Puccini-by-Fabrizio-Spinelli?ctx_page=1&from=gallery&galleryPath=32282075&user_id=15371267
Congratulations Attilio another great simple yet very useful video. By the way the pier shot (the last one) was in my honest opinion your best one that day. It's a stunning beautiful photo!!!
As always, a great video, ever inspiring. Thank you for the content you produce and share. I am amazed you didn't get an oblong trail with the sun on your 389 second long exposure. Last time I did a 300 second long exposure with the sun in the shot the sun turned into more of an oblong shape than a circle. Now I blend a fast shutter shot with a long exposure to get a cleaner picture of the sun in my long exposure shot.
Along with needing a tripod what about adding weight to it, especially when using a large lens like a 70-200. I noticed you use a caribiner to attached a pack to your tripod which helps dampen camera vibrations. I also liked that you will use a smaller aperature than f11 if that is what is needed to get the shot. Some of my lenses are still quite sharp at f16/f18, so it's always good to know one's equipment.
Clear cut explanation of every single tip....i watched a lot of photography videos on wildlife, travel, nature, landscape and so on.... But i never experienced this much detailed, genuine tutorial before... great effort.. Tnq very much sir for your wonderful class😊
I lived in the Bay Area for years and I used to take my bicycle and camera to Lake Tahoe often. I have shot that shot with the picnic tables in tip#2 on my old FE2 and Kodachrome 64 :)
have always found your tutorial video helpful and relevant. I have however difficulty understanding how to take a panoramic photo in a long exposure, especially in a 30secs long exposure? Do you have to wait the lenght for each turn of the camera position? And do u change camera sttings after each 30 secs camera movement?
Hi, Landscape Photography at it’s very best. What I particularly liked was your very well explained video which didn’t need to go on for great lengths of time. This makes for a rerun in the future if it’s needed easy. Barry
Attilio as always rich content, excellent presentation with ease and beautiful images we all aspire to make someday learning from you. Enjoy the weekend and it's always a pleasure to watch your videos and get inspired by your lovely work.
Wonderful tips especially, 4th and 5th are new to me. I always have a great struggle with a 10 stop ND filter. I'm using a Nikon D 7200. since I can't go lower than ISO100, i have a struggle with long exposure in the daytime. would u pls give me some tips?
Hi Attilio great video beautiful place, you have me the confidence to go out last Sunday morning at 3.30am to photograph the sunrise over a lake which was 1 hour drive away, the whole experience took my breath away made me emotional from a tough old guy.MANY THANKS Graham
Another great video!! Love it when you are in the field. Perhaps in a future video you could talk about how you plan your locations and shoots. The pre-work that goes into making a great photo. Thanks again.
Thank you. Useful tips. Panoramic picture taken "under pressure" is awesome! Maybe it is mentioned in some earlier videos but what is the workflow when using Big Stopper? Composition -> Setting Shutter / Aperture -> Focusing (manual) -> Placing Filter(s) -> Taking picture(s)? Just curious what you are checking @1:38 from LCD? Thanks.
4:19 I've always wondered is the sharpest aperture in the middle of aperture range in terms of numbers (ie. 4 to 16=10) or in terms of f-stops, which will not be the same result
Hello Attilio they were super beautiful photos and I used many of your tips to take sharp photos in London Thames yesterday. They were good but not as great as your's.Nevertheless practise makes perfect and i will keep trying. Can you please do a full tutorial of taking full advantage of the remote shutter release device eg for using it instead of the 2 sec shutter release in the camera, how to take multiple shots, how to use it to take a single photo lasting more than 1 minute in bulb mode, and finally the time lapse.thanks for inspiring us.
