Very happy that you are back to making videos. I find them motivating as well as informative. I especially liked seeing your thought process as you search for the right composition and how the water should be portrayed. Thank you!
Thank you immensely for your videos and your teachings and the atmosphere you are created along all those things. Your work is very inspirational as are your amazing photos! You bring me confidence!
Long story short, I was an event photographer in CA for over 12 years, and also the lead photographer for a school district. Lots of work, lots of people and then suddenly retired. My dream was landscape photography and my husband's job transferred us to Northeaster Washington state, PERFECT! 4 years later I haven't gotten out much here in one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. Hip replacement, 2 PE episodes with in a year of each other and blah blah blah. I can symphonize with your injury and I so appreciate the extensive education you're providing. I've always love images of long exposure and now that I'm healing and thanks to you I have a great educator and way to start learning what I really want to do. Thank you Attilio!!!!
It was just as good, simply to share your practice session with you Attilio. I hope you manage to get your fitness back soon… with more happy photography adventures in nature.
My favorite landscape subject is waterfalls. I don't get to do them very often due to physical limitations. I so miss taking hikes in the woods. But I do what I can. I love your videos. I just got my first ND filter. We are taking a trip to take my son to grad school and I hear there are a lot of waterfalls in the area. So I am hoping I will be able to get to some of them. So glad you are back and seem to be doing well. Take care of yourself.
Great video, loved how we can see your photos during the video, really helps with better understanding of the long exposure process. Your photos have subtle but very effective unique aspects that are truly your own.
I agree wholeheartedly with your comment. The illustrations during the video of how you came to your exposure length were fantastic. Thank you for sharing @Atillio.
Thanks Attilio for sharing your visit to this stunning location - it's great to see the sparkle in your eye and to hear how much you enjoyed your time there 👌
Thanks very much Attilio... I'm learning and that really helped me make sense of different settings with long exposure... nice area you were in and nice shots you took too... cheers!
I'm just waiting to get outside once the rain stops and go to Silver Falls SP, Oregon near my home to shoot some more long exposures. It has been a very wet winter and spring. Love that B+W shot of Multnomah Falls. I've seen many images from there, but yours is quite unique.
Can you believe I just watched 6 of your videos and I am absolutely blown away. Your images are phantastic and your video style is top notch. Very easy to watch, especially on a rainy day with a glass of red. Now all I want to do is to get out and take some LE shots here in Qld / Australia.
Watching ur great video on a Saturday morning with my coffee. Such an amazing feeling after long week of work. Thank you for sharing you adventure and magical places. Looks like you put some for thought into your future and photography by moving to Europe. Either way very inspiring for me. It’s perfect.
Thanks for this video… I love long exposure photography but have not tried it too much over the years. I am inspired now to go and find some places to explore and try it with some of the techniques you explained… I need to find some waterfalls as there is much of a choice around where I photograph.
Absolutely amazing video. I can see that your excitement level is higher in this video. I love the longer exposures of the waterfalls for the full silky effect of the water. Also, the 15 mins exposure of the rapids section was simply breath taking. LOVED IT!
Attilio, at 3:01 you show a dual waterfall with a river running down the center (no pun intended.) There is some detail in the river that seems to indicate that the exposure was much shorter. Was the river moving that slowly or is this a composite photo?
Lovely to see you again, Attilio, It's beautiful areas like this that I think keep you sane in this not so nice World. Like you, I am obsessed with Waterfalls, at least so my wife says! but after 40 years of shooting them, I will never change now.
Please can you run through your process for that AMAZING black and white shot with just the waterfall showing I’m the middle and black everywhere else. I’m fascinated with how you did that?! Thanks for all your great videos you have inspired me to go out and try long exposure !!
This takes me back. My very first waterfalls photo shoot was 30 years ago at Ramona Falls in the Mt Hood National Forest. My Pentax K1000 with remote shutter release did not let me down.
Very interesting Attilio, i would like to see a comparison between old and new methods of taking long exposures pictures..for now i.ll be sticking to the old way..your oldest fan.
The long exposure I like the most is photography of water, especially lakes and sea and of course also long exposure of star photography. It may sound a little strange but there is something calm and relaxing about long exposure shots
Loved the video. Showing what one goes and has to go through instead of simply showing a great shot is much loved in this video. Waiting for more of long exposure now! Thanks Attilio for sharing your work with us to learn at every stage!!
Thanks Attilio for yet another fantastic episode. The area you are in here is something I only dream about. Nature is perfection or so close to it . I envy you for having access to such locations. This way of life adventuring like you are in this video brings one such inner peace . And can almost forget why you actually came there to begin with. I love my photography and you always inspire me more each time . Bravo . Stay well . 🙏🏻
Lovely images as always. Thanks for the valuable tips. Curious if you have tried the Dolomites. Would love to see your interpretation of those mountains.
Glad to have you back Attilio! I got some inspiration out of this! Glad you started off the segment on your waterfall images with one in my neck of the woods, Multnomah Falls. I'm having that same up hill challenge so I feel your pain. Be well and thanks as always.
I am constantly torn by the faster wilder waterfall photos or the longer more serene shots. I tend to take shots of both and decide in post what is better.
Water and its movement always have something magical, which captures attention. And this can sometimes be a problem; focussed on water you lose sight of the overall composition creating images of little impact. That's what happens to me sometimes, watching your videos also helps to capture the really important aspects of the long exposure photography
Hi Attilio. I love the first Black & White waterfall photo, it is AWSOME!! I know how you feel about lack of fitness, especially post Covid! As you get back into things, your fitness should increase and you get to enjoy nature along the way! Your videos make me feel like I am in the woods/seaside/lake side with you. Take care and keep up the great work please :^)
Truly enjoyed the scenery and great tips. Being on the downhill slide of 67, I find it takes no time at all to get out of shape. Not fare lol. I try to get at least 10-20 miles a day.
Thank you very much Attilio. I loved every second of your tutorial. You have really shown me that I need to experiment with various filters and especially the exposure aspect. I always take several shots at varied ideas just to see the differences. Thank you. I’ll be back.
Gracias Attilio por tu explicacion y tus magnificas fotos.Para el senderismo cuando mayor te haces ,mas empinada son las subidas .😁😁 👍👍.Gracias para todo.
Hi Attilio and thx for this video with all your advices. I am not so convinced by the first situation and the frame but it s very interesting to see the impact of the duration of the shutter speed. The second spot is far more interesting and the way your are « cleaning » the scene is impressive. Keep on feeding us with these kind of videos, we love them.
What is your favorite LONG Exposure PHOTOGRAPHY subject???
I have 2 favorites, waterfalls and lakes. Living in the landlocked state of Idaho, I don't have a lot of oceans or seas to photograph.
Lakes seas and night traffic long exposure timelapse(use slider to create more dramatic angle).
Falls and Sea or river
i forgot fireworks
Di notte a Venezia

Would love to know how you manage to avoid motion blur in the trees due to the long exposure
there isn't any way to manage that, beside taking 2 images and blend them together...
After long time . Fabulous . Waiting for more
