Love this video - thanks for sharing!
Hey Daniel. I'm pretty sure I'm in a reset season. I have a meeting next week to discuss transition to retirement. It's a bit scary, but I know I'm feeling unsettled & putting together my list of things to do has ignited some excitement for what's ahead. Thanks for the video. All the best, Tracey
Thanks Tracey - wow, scary, unnerving, curious, exciting times! Good luck with your meeting - and even more so with the journey towards what David Brooks calls 'the second mountain' - the next big life reset that often happens around retirement. Thanks for commenting.
What season of life are you in right now - set or reset? And what is one thing that connects with you from this video? I'd love to hear from you. Daniel
Great video, thank you
My pleasure Anton - it's so important to share our stories and the creative challenge of making space for deeper reflection in times of reset!
A great video Daniel. My brain is thinking like I’m in reset but my heart isn’t agreeing.
I love this comment as it's so true that our heart sometimes takes time to follow our head in a reset ... at least that's been my experience. Next week, I'll share my personal story of reset and how I needed a few 'aha' moments to let my feelings catch up with my thoughts! The beautiful thing about a reset is it allows opportunities for growth, new insights, and new experiences... best of luck!
Great video. It’s interesting to think about the wall your ladder is placed up against. The wall could be aligned to so many different aspects eg. Industry, employer, job, team structure
So true Patrick. I 100% agree - and it's even bigger than how we work. So many of us sleepwalk through life, doing the next thing, simply because it's what our culture or environment suggests we should be doing. This can be across various domains of life - not just career, but family, health, relationships as well. I'm drawn to the research that suggests the number one regret people in Australia cite at the end of their life is that they "didn't have the courage to live their own life." I think that's an expression of not reflecting on 'what is your ladder,' making space to determine who you want to be, and following through with hard choices to live this out in practice. Thanks for watching and commenting.
