Same man and for today
Brent McAskill religion is the worst thing man ever created. I believe in a God, but not organized religion. I was baptized, confirmed, etc. Was always brought up catholic/Christian, but I gave up on it. If priests were men chosen by God, why do I constantly see stories of them molesting kids? And why do hard-core Christians hate gays so much? And I can't tell you how many ppl I know that go to church every weekend, yet when they are out of church they are pieces of garbage. Look at how many religions there are in the world, and they are all convinced that they are right. The fact of the matter is that we truly have no idea who/what created us, and what happens when we die. I'd rather just do my own thing, be kind to others, and enjoy life instead of following some man made religion that was made to keep ppl in line. That being said, you can worship whatever you want, I just wanted to throw my 2 cents in. I refuse to follow something that was made by man and has a following of ppl that blindly obey whatever the church says. I'll leave you with a quote by parkway drive "nothing here is sacred, nothing is divine, if Heaven's gates are open then I think I'll wait in line, nothing here is holy, WHEN EVERY FAITH IS BLIND, so save your breath I don't need more excuses." As a Christian, I really admire how this band appeals to secular audiences.
It's not about being Christian or not, it's about being a good band.
Ninjamanhammer It is about being Christian in the realm of spreading religious beliefs. Now, if you are saying being Christian or not doesn't make music better or worse, I would agree with you on that one. I am a huge fan of asking Alexandria and as a Christian I am yet to find anything as good or even close, although I do like impending doom.

As a secular person I'd say that it's:1. It's just high quality deathcore.2. It'snot just the usual deathcore lyrics, it has more meaning and thought to them.
I guarantee you that if they focused less on copying the satanic culture of metal and instead focused more on spreading love through their music, they would be even more successful. Dark music is ok, but only if hope is offered. Christ is not mentioned in this song, neither is hope. There is only satanic imagery, and no christian imagery in the film. I personally see that as a problem. Don't get me wrong, I'm still happy with the fact that they are reaching people; i just don't like seeing bands bend to the pressure of what they think they have to be in order to conform; ESPECIALLY when it blurs the gospel.

Aaron Corpus actually nailed dead risen is much heavier but the where grindcore for that album
Most can argue that downtuned and well paced is infinitely heavier than grindcore.

After listening to metal for so long it becomes pretty easy to understand.

Positive Metal Amen! Impending Doom is my most ultimate favorite band. That's so awesome that you have a repentagram tattoo. I want to get a few repentagrams; 1 on my chest, 1 on my right hand, 1 on top of my bald head along with other various tats. I only have a 9-leaved clover(was supposed to be a 4-leaved clover, but the tattooist was a novice & since it was free, I didn't make a fuss about it. Plus, it can, in a way represent the 9 fruits of the Spirit)on my left hand between my index & thumb.

GreatBritishBeast. So if the Bible says in ephesians 4:26 to be angry but do not sin, don't let the sun go down on your anger how would that mean that it's against Christian values? We have emotions for a reason it is where that anger is directed and the focus of our heart that matters. Anger towards sin and the devil and injustice is natural. If it consumes you and love is no longer part of it then it is a problem.
My old band played a cover of More Than Conquerors when we were in the worship band. Some people loved it, some people hated it and told us it was devil music.
