One of the most beautiful songs EVER written! The lilting guitar, the orchestration, the hard hitting drums, the unexpected soaring guitar solo, Geoff Tate's incredible voice! The backing vocals. A MASTERPIECE!
I was lucky enough to see these guys live 2x. Phenomenal musicians! The issue with the band breaking up was a shame, because the music they created was truly amazing. Your commentary and reactions to the music never gets old.
I saw them on this very tour. They were fantastic live. Operation Mind crime was the album previous to this album and really is one of the greatest albums ever.
❤👍👍 this song enhanced my life, it's so impactful. I tear up with happy tears almost each time I play it. Loved your feeling it too. Please consider Queensryche reacting to "Jet City Woman", 😍
Criminally under-rated..rumor has it his daughter awoke from a nightmare where she dreamed about a horrible death and he tried to make sense of it for her..
Hi there Mrs Pretty Pen Pal. It’s nice to see you again. I’ve known these guys personally for years, I was at their very first show out here in L.A. Right after Geoff joined the guys, they went into the recording studio and They laid down 4 songs and released their E.P. Before they had done any shows yet ( The original lineup, Once Chris left the band in M. H. O. umm 🤔 it was different) still a great band, solid talent from top to bottom, and down to earth all around cool guys. Here’s a little unknown crumb of info for you. Geoff took vocal lessons from the same guy that gave voice lessons to Ann Wilson of the band Heart, ( both bands from Washington State/ add a couple years in Vancouver B.C. Canada for Heart as well, if you haven’t yet, listen to some old Heart songs, Ann’s vocals are insane, just like Geoff’s. Too bad they never did a colab together, that would have been awesome. Anyway I am still busy with session work but I’m slowly still going through your originals and as promised I will send you some more feedback/ with input good and bad really soon. I hope and trust all is well with you. 👍 Next Song for you Queensryche “Take Hold Of the Flame”. ⚠️ IMPORTANT Do the LIVE Version from Tokyo, Japan from 1984 ⚠️ If you have not already done a reaction to Heart. Do their classic song called “ Barracuda” from the mid 1970’s and from the late 1980’s do their song “Alone”. Studio version is fine. To get a sense of how good both of them are, with their power, control and range. Just a reminder 🫵 have that special something in you, God gave you, and it’s rare so don’t ever give up on any of your dreams please or we will both be #%@*\… Mad.😠 😊. Air Hug 🤗 heading your way. Good ear, that was Brahms lullaby you heard. Brahms said that the melody for Lullaby came to him in a dream and he immediately woke up and charted down the notes.🎶
Great reaction!! Your emotional reaction got me emotional as well!! This is one of my favorite bands from the 80s. Their album Operation Mindcrime is probably one of the greatest albums of all time!! The first album I listened to that was a linear story from beginning to end.
I'm thankful that I grew up with all those great bands and I'm happy for you that you still can explore all of them. Queensryche (pronounces Queensreich - derived from Queen of the Reich) Geoff Tate had one of the best voices in Hard Rock and I had the pleasure to see Queensryche live back in the 80s. Other song suggestions might be "I don't believe in Love", "Eyes of a Stranger", "Empire" and my favorite "Anybody Listening"
@MrsPenPal I used to sing this to my daughter when she was little (no where near as good as Geoff of course). But very very sadly I lost my daughter 2 years ago. She was at the young age of 27. So every time I hear this song and some others it breaks me down to tears. And seeing your reaction made me full out cry. You are a wonderful soul
Now to see the variety of this band, you must do "Take Hold of the Flame [Queensrÿche - Live in Tokyo 1984/08/05]". The video is old and low-res, but it is simply amazing.
Love your reactions!! if you want to hear another song by Queensryche which moves a lot and which we don't see often enough in the "first hearings" choose "Home again" (album "American Soldier"). I get goosebumps every time
*PLEASE* react to their *Unplugged* session, songs like *I Will Remember, The Killing Words, Della Brown* and *The Lady Wore Black,* It’s like being in a trance.
Thank you for your reaction ❤🙏🏻 and this song, it is so beautiful and goes right into your heart and soul ❤️🙏🏻 Missed your birthday, so belated Happy Birthday to you! 🎉🎂🍰 Hope you had a beautiful birthday ❤ (We're close there, I had birthday too not so long ago, 31th of October) Peace and love to you and thanks again ❤🙏🏻
Now this is a reaction!👏👏👏👏❤️🔥🙏this guy’s were awesome! Queensryche “Empire” album 💿 but their other album Operation Mindcrime! Is a masterpiece!❤️🔥🤟😎👍
Another Rainy Night- Queensryche is another huge banger from them! Love for you to react to that one also. It was off the same album as silent lucidity.😁
I've been a Queensryche fan since their 1st EP (early 80's). A beautiful sang. Most of their music is heavier. For more of their softer side check out "The Star That Came Tonight"
Yes. Overcome with emotion. There are people in this world who feel music. There are people for whom music is just background. Those in the latter category... I feel sorry for.
@@MrsPenPal Jeff Tate was original singer in the first concert, same guy you reacted to here. 30 yrs later, new lead singer but sounded just like Jeff Tate.. so that was awesome
Queens - Rike is my favorite band (wearing a Mindcrime T right now), although this isn't my favorite tune from them. Check out "Eyes Of A Stranger", "Take Hold Of The Flame" and "Walk In The Shadows". Peace!
The song is not about the lost of a love one. There kid had a bad dream that someone they loved died, so there parent is teaching them how to stop bad dreams with lucidity dreaming.
Take hold of the flame is one of there best and deserves a listen. I would love to hear and see your reaction to Robert Plant Ship of fools. I wish I had the money to sponsor your video but at the moment I’m unemployed. Found your channel and love your opinions. All the best.
Thanks for your comment and suggestion I appreciate you! Sorry about your job loss thats tough it will get better, you’ve got a positive attitude don’t give up 💜
I became a Sabbath fan in 71 with Master of reality. During the 70s I also became a Priest, Motorhead and saxon fan in the 80s I became a Queensryche fan, the very best Metal bands of all time. Of course Sabbath will be my number one, but the gap between them and the others is virtually nothing. There is no other band that comes close, Save for Tank, Angelwitch, possibly Testament, fear factory, and newer bands like Lacuna coil, and even newer like lovebites, Nightwish, the Warning.
Quite possibly the greatest power ballad ever. Certainly among the very best in terms of composition, execution and beauty.
No computers. No autotune. No AI. A rock band, some orchestration, and a godly voice. 🥰
some orchestration? the orchestration is master class
And a lot of studio engineering.
@@guntertorfs6486 It's called arrangement and it has always been part of music for those who know how to do it
@@andrea-v2s It wasn't meant as a criticism , but rather as a reality check for the commenter i reacted to.
I just lost my Mom over a week ago and I had tears listening to this. Love you Mom RIP!
Wow so sorry to hear this 💜🕊️
@MrsPenPal Ty she's In heaven with Jesus now
🙏🕊️❤️
@@DwightHerron she really is, sorry for your loss
I lost my mom too , almost 4 years ago , yea this song makes me cry my face off , but i have to click on it when people do reactions to it
One of the most beautiful songs EVER written! The lilting guitar, the orchestration, the hard hitting drums, the unexpected soaring guitar solo, Geoff Tate's incredible voice! The backing vocals. A MASTERPIECE!
Truly
The happiness of parents is to watch their child sleep peacefully in his cot and be jealous of his dreams. 🌺
So true
Watching this song have the same effect on people decade after decade is beautiful to see.
There's a place that I like to hide, a doorway that I run through in the night. ❤
The production on this entire album is the best you’ll ever hear.
I have literally heard this song a thousand times, and every time it will bring tears to my eyes. It's an amazing song and great reaction.
I think this is the best reaction I've seen for this song. Nice video!
Best music is in the past when artists actually depended on their voices to carry a chord and balance the song harmoniously
This album was my senior year in high school and I just love seeing people be this touched by Queensryche's music 34 years later
Such a great reaction to one of the greatest bands
Thanks dear he is amazing
Beautiful and Impressive!! Queensryche was awesome too!!

Thank you for your powerful and honest reaction to an amazing song/video.
Thank you for being here
Pronounced like Queens-rike, but spelled Queensryche. Been listening to this since 1990. It has never gotten old.
of coarse, Take Hold of the Flame - Live in Tokyo is next
Thank you for sharring your experience with us - truly one of the most beautifully sung thought provoking songs out there.
Thanks for joining me in this experience. Hope your day is going well
The name of the band is pronounced: Queens Ryke. This is one of the best songs ever!
What a beautiful song
Truly
❤ you have heart and soul thank you for being a human being ❤ be well ❤
Oh my God, this got to be the greatest introduction to a Queensryche reaction LOL Queenchérie, that's it! Never change 💖
Thanks based on pronunciation guide from commenters I think I should be able to say it better next time. Queens-rike 😅

Queensryche was the greatest and most underrated bands ever
Lol.
@Arthur.in.the.Fridge why is that funny
Listen closely to the ending for Brahm's Lullaby
Your beautiful self made me tear up too!

Best reaction i've ever saw to new music, to them.

Uma das minhas preferidas. Foi um dos melhores reacts que eu ja vi.
You should watch the MTV awards live appearance of silent lucidity.
I use to watch this band gig 86-89.
They were a phenomenal force live.

A lot of good bands and songs came out of the grunge era in America. So I would recommend most songs during this time.

Queens ryche (pronounced rike) rhymes with Dean's bike.
You cannot forget about the great backup vocals. Geoff is the best ever, but Chris and Eddie aren't too shabby!
When I first heard this song when it came out, for a minute, I honestly thought it was a new Pink Floyd song. It was that good.
