Halfway through and the hat looks small on my round, with the same yarn weight and needle size, but I'll keep y'all updated with the final measurements! Update: finished the hat in 4 days of casual knitting, the flat measurements after blocking are almost exactly 9x9 inches, the cast on and hat overall are stretchy and the fit looks great, if you want it to lie flat on the top of your head maybe knit 6 instead of 7 inches tall before reducing
I just started this hat as a beginner and this is such a great video! Is it possible to do this hat with a longer ribbed section so you can fold it over for extra warmth? Would I just do 4 inches instead of 2 at the bottom? Do you think 142g of yarn would do? Knitting for my brother who lives in a cold climate.
Hi..Am almost done but finding it very difficult at the closing as the needle is too long.. please suggest how i can cover the last bit..i would be grateful as am knitting this for my hubby as an anniversary gift..
Love the hat making it but have never done magic loop so would it be difficult to decrease crown with double pointed needles which I do know how to work with thank you waiting for the scarf

I know this was posted a long time ago, but just incase someone else is searching, I found this guide online: 22 or 30cm (8½ or 12in) are best for small tubes such as socks, mittens or cuffs. 40cm (16in) are useful for sleeves, hats and bodies of children's jumpers. 60 or 80cm (24 or 32in) work well for the bodies of sweaters for adults. 100, 120, 140 or 150cm (40, 47, 55 or 60in) are usually used for knitting large projects in the flat, such as the knitted edge a blanket. Personally I bought 32in for this project, which I think is probably too long but the longer length will be more versatile for other projects. I have 16inch needles of another size and the length is a little short. It may work for this hat but I sometimes found it uncomfortable to hold since the distance between the needles is limited.

Do you think it's possible for beginners to do? I also wondered what length your needles were? I am looking to buy some 4mm circular needles and the ones you have seem a good size for this project!
I'm making this as a beginner for my husband. Little challenging because I don't know all the stitches but definitely possible she is very detailed and shows the each stitch multiple times. Also rewinding a lot lol.
And I am a fixed butchett all the veils keep going up. The interest itself. I cannot afford $13 and for a website. Please, please, I would appreciate having you to watch and not cost me all that money. I don't need all my stuff I make. And my man loves his hat he never , ever loved The stuff I made, but he does love this hat.Thank you
