I just joined the club with an 06 SuperCharged 4.2 V8 I got from an auction this past weekend. Drove it home on the bump stops and I think it bottomed out so hard that the front right strut is now pushed up through the top by one inch. Ugh!!!! BUT after going through all the fuses, I found the relay in the back fuse panel to be the problem. Now the airbag suspension works great.... For now,,,, LOL Never owned one before. The head unit/ navigation display is totally dead. Not even the RR logo lights up. No power light. Nada. Checked all fuses and relay. The relay kicks in which gets its power from the display unit, so hopefully a new/used display will fix it.
Your assessments of owning an L322 are spot on. If you think you can’t afford it, you can’t. I’ve got an 07 HSE Supecharged with 135k on it. I’ve converted it to coil springs to get rid of the air ride headaches and honestly, it rides the same. Yes you do lose the height adjustability for off road but my kit actually lifted the truck about 2” and I fit 275/55’s just fine. I regularly drive my truck back and forth from Houston to Lafayette and it’s always a joy to drive. Thirsty? Yes. More maintenance cost? Almost the same as my F-250 Powerstroke. Actually the oil changes are less by a few bucks. Comfort? No equal from my experiences in Mercedes and BMW. It’s a shame about the timing chain issues in the 5.0. That’s a great performing engine in either form. As far as buying another, there will always be one in my driveway.....
I bought 2011 three years ago and spent over $3000 on front suspension on its first year, but since then I’m enjoying it every day. It brings happiness to me and satisfy my desire for quality and fun driving.
An L322 2006 Range Rover Supercharged has just come into my families life, (It's actually done less mileage than yours) and they are incredible vehicles, I drove it 400 odd miles, for seven hours, not once did I feel tired. They are such amazing vehicles, extremely relaxing, sturdy, and 'homely'. Even the 2006 model has a tonne of presence. The only real thing that's somewhat unexpected, is they have a tendency to wallow and drift.
They're incredible to take on long trips! I absolutely adore the L322 for everything it is. Personally, I think the 2006-2009 has one of the best styles. There are angles where the 2010-2012 look like a mix of generations whereas I feel 2006-09 look perfectly balanced.
Agreed with that! I also love the look of the Supercharged's rear lights. I do like the new Range Rover's, but they're not as menacing, or rather as intimidating as the L322's.

My 2003 4,4 V8 Vogue has 256'000 Kilometers now and still looks (interior and exterior) and drives like new! Had to replace the front air-suspension, did the timing-chains just for security. Only thing: it leaks always a little bit of oil there and there and the expansion tank of the coolant water exploded once. For me (have also RR and Bentley's) it's the BEST car to travel anytime and anywhere! and i NEVER want a younger one! They lost the character and have become nouveau-riche and i don't want all those electronic-screens everywhere!

The L322 is my favorite Range Rover especially the first and second facelift! In Europe we had the HSE, the Vogue and the Autobiography to choose from. Engines were for the first model the TD6 and the 4.4 V8, then for the first facelift they introduced the 4.2 Supercharged V8 and the 3.6 TDV8 and the last facelift brought the 5.0 V8/ 5.0 Supercharged as well as a 4.4 TDV8.

joe sands We get that the LC is one of the most reliable cars in the world but what’s the point in having one if you don’t off-road when it gets 15 MPG if not less at best.

I used to have a 2006 Land Rover LR3 V8 SE with the Jaguar 4.4 liter V8, absolutely loved it, leased it for 27 months. Now I just financed a preowned 2015 Land Rover LR2 HSE, it's nice and all, but for a 2015, compared to my 2006 LR3, I want to say the 9 year older LR3 offered a much nicer ride from the adjustable air suspension, had brighter headlights, and having the V8 engine, still got around the same mileage I am currently getting in the LR2 with a 4cyl engine. I really wanted a 2013 Range Rover Sport but decent ones are still a bit pricey right now.

I think I’m leaning towards the lx 570 for quality and reliability versus the range rovers gas mileage.
184$/month for insurance? If people think that’s excessive they would’ve flipped out when they heard what I was paying 😂 Bought mine (no longer have it, my friend wrecked it -.-) in 2015, it was a 2007 Vogue HSE with the 4.4 V8 (gas). That was kinda stupid xD
I bought a 03 in very clean under 100.000 mi.Got it home then the steering locked up .trying all tricks to turn key .I'm getting the ews and key reset if that don't work .It will go to the parts department.
Interesting observations from the US. Here in the UK and indeed Europe Diesels are a far more effenceit alternative. Americans dont like Land Rover and the brand its obvious😔

I was in a 2006 the other day while at a dealership, and the rear seats felt like they had more legroom. I thought maybe I was going crazy at first 😂, but maybe it actually is. I know they changed the seat designs in the later years, so that might be it.
i love looking at Range Rovers, they have a presence like no other car . but i'd never buy one . , over here in the UK you pay a lot of annual road tax on a 4x4 and they are far to big to be fun to drive . , but thats here, , i the U,S, where roads are bigger , they must be a more relaxed drive i imagine . but i do like the look of the range rover
I am just about to buy the same Land Rover as you, I noticed that yours have a hitch, Asking around I was told that only Land Rover has THe tow bar or hitch that I need, but that is 2400 installed. do you know of anyone else that makes a RRHSE hitch that does not comes out too far on the back reducing departing angle? Thanks, Great Video
184£ insurance every month wtfff😮😮😮you must really love your range rover lol.i pay 350£ per year fully comp and am only 35 and its 5.0l supa charge v8 autobiography lol
Mate, I am in UK too, I'm about to buy and insure a L322 2006 V8 Vogue, been quoted £450 for 25k miles/annum and I am 50 years old. Which insurer did you use, I could do with giving them a call for a quote.... Regards, James
I feel sorry if someone bought a used Range Rover because of this video, these things are money pits for really no benefit besides having an early fast suv (outside of the cayenne)
The two best Engines for the L322 Range rover are the 3.6 tdv8 and the 4.4 tdv8. The 4.4 tdv8 is just amazing and averages around 30 mpg with 330 bhp and 750 nm Torque suited to an 8 speed box ( the 3.6 tdv8 is quite good as well). the 3.0 td6 where grand but slow and underpowered. The petrols are a waste of time cause they are just not economically enough at 170 dollars a go to fill up. Drove a 4.4 v8 once and literally it was 20 euro to go anywhere. hahaha A complete joke.
I understand, We have had loads of Range rovers over the years all different models and years starting years ago with Classics, p38s etc. The diesels are definitely the ones to go for now unless petrol is free. haha
If we have them in the US, I'd take a 4.4 TDV8 in a heartbeat! I've heard amazing things about them, but I've never been able to experience one for myself. Haha I get that. It's definitely much cheaper to fill up with petrol here. My average cost per month (2 full tanks) doesn't equal the 170 figure you mentioned earlier so I wouldn't touch it haha.
Ya the 4.4 tdv8 is something else, Still if you do any amount of driving say 600 miles or so a week your still talking a fuel bill of around 600 euro a month which is around 700 dollars ( id say you would use more) haha Its still expensive even for a diesel.
Roughly $185/month for full coverage with 50 miles of towing (found that important 😂). I use State Farm, but I'm sure you can find a better deal with another company. I've just not bothered to look. When I first bought it at 20, it was around $200/month but dropped when I turned 22.
Range Rovers are great to drive. And awful to own. Unless you love seeing your truck in the shop and spending thousands to fix problems *again*, you're better off with almost anything else.
Absolute shitbuckets! I worked for Rover and trust me the price is sky high and the build quality is shite. Guaranteed to break down and Rob to the owner.
A brand which cannot maintain its heritage n got sold n had experimental engines put by fifferent companes n zero resalr value. Sorry but its jst not worth it

i love looking at Range Rovers, they have a presence like no other car . but i'd never buy one . , over here in the UK you pay a lot of annual road tax on a 4x4 and they are far to big to be fun to drive . , but thats here, , i the U,S, where roads are bigger , they must be a more relaxed drive i imagine . but i do like the look of the range rover
Congratulation you just bought a time bomb. And good luck on constantly trying to hear when the time starts to click.
same price for petrol in the uk
You failed to mention the 4.4 jag V8 (06-09) which was way more reliable than all of the other motors with very few issues with them....
Reliability is just horrendous.
Not true, mine never let me down and that was to 90k too.
You are wrong. 2010 and newer is all you need to worry about now
@@BaitedCastaways seriously? It's better after 2010?
Norman Jackson well they all have issues but yes the newer ones are better. My engine hasn’t blown up yet. I can’t say that about my older one
I hate how the AU port is behind you! WTF RR?
Better wheels help it look newer
184£ insurance every month wtfff😮😮😮you must really love your range rover lol.i pay 350£ per year fully comp and am only 35 and its 5.0l supa charge v8 autobiography lol
Mate, I am in UK too, I'm about to buy and insure a L322 2006 V8 Vogue, been quoted £450 for 25k miles/annum and I am 50 years old. Which insurer did you use, I could do with giving them a call for a quote....
Regards, James
I own a range rover evoque and my next car will be a range rover sport svr 😍
how is the 3.6 and 4.4 v8 diesel?
I feel sorry if someone bought a used Range Rover because of this video, these things are money pits for really no benefit besides having an early fast suv (outside of the cayenne)
Insurance go down when you reach 25 years old.
WHERE ARE THE OFFROAD VIDEOS ?
"Confidence?" ... would you say it gives like, F150 levels of confidence???
Never realised you were so tall!
That's great! We don't really have diesel L322 models in the US, so I can't really comment on those.
Ya the 4.4 tdv8 is something else, Still if you do any amount of driving say 600 miles or so a week your still talking a fuel bill of around 600 euro a month which is around 700 dollars ( id say you would use more) haha Its still expensive even for a diesel.
lol what about all of the snapped cranks?🤔
What model is yours?
L322 2011 HSE Lux
I really don't like the new look Range Rovers. The L322 is a much nicer looking machine.
My insurance is 540 a month 😭
What an oof
Rather stick with my landcruiser amazon
Too much “talking head” and not enough “Land Rover”
I don't care, I'll buy it.
Exciting and scary?
How's the insurance? is it full coverage?
Roughly $185/month for full coverage with 50 miles of towing (found that important 😂). I use State Farm, but I'm sure you can find a better deal with another company. I've just not bothered to look. When I first bought it at 20, it was around $200/month but dropped when I turned 22.
If you watch the video he clearly says the cost per month
Battery draw..2020 5.0 sc
2010
They’re turds. Was a master tech for Land Rover and trust me they’re turds.
Why
Wasp Pride is there any model that was better than the other ?
How long ago was that wasp?
you sound like you got super fired. lol.
Yes, if you have a good mechanic
Why would anyone buy this model in 2018
exactly everyone buys the new ones
caleb morrison they may prefer this design or not want to cash out on the redesigned one
Range Rovers are great to drive. And awful to own. Unless you love seeing your truck in the shop and spending thousands to fix problems *again*, you're better off with almost anything else.
Sorry but a 22 year giving a favourable opinion on a huge bucket of scrap doesn't wash with me.
There’s two ranger rover on the road one is going to repair shop and the other one just finished repair.....
5.0 more reliable than the 4.4???? Yeah….No.
Talk about the boot space yet 80% of the shot is your head. The opposite of helpful.
Absolute shitbuckets! I worked for Rover and trust me the price is sky high and the build quality is shite. Guaranteed to break down and Rob to the owner.
lol imagine living in the strip club married to a striper, that's what my uncle answered after I asked him why he got rid of hes's supercharger
Click Bait, picture shows newer Range Rover. Was hoping to see information on what people are buying these days, not 5+ years ago
If you love cars buy a Range Rover 😐 . If you hate cars buy a Toyota.☹️
💯✌
A brand which cannot maintain its heritage n got sold n had experimental engines put by fifferent companes n zero resalr value. Sorry but its jst not worth it
Get a real SUV
GET A TOYOTA LÀND CRUISER
Freddy 2828 The Rover is far more luxurious, and has higher quality interior materials. The Toyota is far more reliable I’ll give you that.
It’s a junk bed design the worst engine and transmission stay away
It is not a full size SUV! Not even large
This video is so obtuse. Who knows
it doesn't look 7 years old, it looks 15. It's a really dated design
Horribe vehicles. DONT buy .
yeah BMW is now trash, this does not make a Range Rover a better car, they are now both trash
Money pits
''Attention'' Range/land rover are all attention seekers, they always want something.
This guy stares at his Land Rover? Get a life.
I hate how the AU port is behind you! WTF RR?
