Ever heard of the phase ,work smarter not harder. Here in va the crane companies charge a 3 hrs minimum.im not understanding why not allow the crane to set the curb adapter and the RTU.

      1. Crane charges from the time they leave the yard…they were 45 minutes in when they arrived.
      2. They waited another hour for me to get there because we didn’t have the right size ladder there (our fault).
      3. Time was up and they were out 15 minutes when I realized. Again…our fault. I was too rushed.
We were lucky is was relatively lite. The unit didn’t have anywhere to put the shackles because it was so small.
I agree with you though! 100% work smarter. I just wasn’t very smart that day. We always said I’m the Army…”you’re gonna get smart or you’re gonna get strong.” 🤷🏽‍♂️

It literally doesnt matter what size foam tape you get with Trane parts for whatever system or application, comm or rez, every single one the adhesive fuses the foam to the backing paper. Every damn time. Its maddening.

This was fun to watch. I have a question:
I never installed a RTU before but isn't there any way to join the RTU to the curb while on ground level and then use the crane to get it right on the spot?

It might be possible if you have the curb adapter specially made. They all are custom made based on measurements. So you would have to have reinforced eyes installed…and you’d have to trust them lol.

This was a shady installation, the insulator has broken off. That’s not a solid seal when it rain water is going to leak in the inside.

It was spray foamed later that day. 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽 I was more worried about air leaking.
