Nice job ,man handling in place! By the hour,( cranes). Really need to prep..good job by the way, What a way to run electrical ( main)! Thru the roof curb),. Great inspection.and documenting the code and customer,in denial. Later im sure ,as you said. A big regret.not getting hail gaurd. As always..enjoy your videos! Hey Joseph - I cant understand why the cheaped out on the hail gaurds or economizer, it wont get approval from the inspector without an economizer and that area tends to get hit with hail alot. Also that electrical conduit could have been a major issue, luckily it didnt go as bad as it could. The customer will learn-lol Thanks for watching Joseph
Bill, why did the customer not install the economizer nor the hail guards? I do not think it passed inspection! I wonder if you had to go back to bring this unit up to code...
Another good one. Will they have to have inspection on a changeout up there?!? If so, hope you charge them double for the economizer. Manager trying to save a dollar and costing himself more in long run is stupid!
Where I'm at, the customer has no choice in the matter if it's a code issue. We aren't even allowed to submit a quote if the scope doesn't meet the intent of the code. It sucks.
How can they get away with ignoring code requirements? I would expect the A/C unit would have to be inspected by the city before it could be put into service.🤔🤔🤔
They opted not to get an economizer, unbelievable. The energy code today requires dual enthalpy. It would be one thing if they just went with outside air dry-bulb but they did not even get the hood and damper. So going into fall when they could be free-cooling, instead they are going to use mechanical cooling (electric). The person that made that decision should be in a different line of work. Nice video.
Nice video, thanks for sharing! Have you ever had any water issues with rtu heat pumps leaking down through the curb (like high voltage lines not being caulked and sucking in moisture)? Also with ducting horizontal, but open curb (not roofed over). Thanks
before the rest of the install crew shows up I would of ripped both coils out and had them in the back of the truck. Then when they ask about the missing coils I would say my usual, "scrappers got em"
How weird that they opted out! If you pull a permit to do the work here because you're in the city limits a code guy comes by before and after and every job. Job has to passed by code enforcement in order for the permit to be closed out and for company to pay you! How in the world does this fly?
@@curioushvacguy6876 lol 😂 ! As long as you get payment, I'd keep it to myself and keep chugging along! Thanks for the reply, I really enjoy your channel , if my company ever gets off the ground I'll join your patreon, if you have one. Love how your teaching method doesn't really leave anyone behind! Thanks again for all your hard work and dedication!
@@curioushvacguy6876 We should educate customers. There's a reason why is called Economizer, it saves them money in electrical bills versus not having one. He may think is saving money upfront but then he will pay more during the lifetime of the equipment lol
Johnson Controls Inc aka York. York makes a drop on Carrier replacement. Much better quality. I thought that’s what it was. Or is Carrier stepping up their game?
Crane is fun and all, but once you witness 30 vrf condensers being helicoptered to a 15 floor building in LA , it's something else.
I guess the carrier rtu design must be up for grabs, that thing is almost identical. Good video sir

The Bearded wonder thanks for another great video brother
Lol. You would think customers would listen to the HVAC guy. Lol

DANG!!!! BEAST MODE.
Nice video.
Thank you for the extra tip.

Good crane footage!!
are you going to pull off useful parts as spare ?

You'd think so, even though we pulled a permit and it's never been approved there's hardly any follow up from the jurisdiction

Like that other video, where crack heads stole the high side only..lol
Lol that VFD is mounted wrong AF. In the Mitsubishi manual it shows exactly how not to mount it. How does that shit come out of the factory.

Can you opt out an economizer that is required by code? It must be cheaper to order it with the unit 🙄🤦🏻♂️
To be honest Im not sure on that, I know as soon as the inspector leaves you can unplug it and let it run without one, lol

All our commerical RTUs is quoted to include the economizer since it's code here as well.
Yeah, I dont think they ever passed inspection for that unit because of that. Thanks for watching
👍
#61 Thumbs up

Good job 1 question the unit just sits on the curb without being bolted down?
