Ah yes. Another way to test my skill as an effective diver. DUTY CALLS GENTLEFOLK
Godspeed Helldiver.
FOR DEMOCRACY
Killed? In normal missions yes, but since the atmospheric interference modifier is so common and it makes the precision strike just... a strike, the railgun remains great for those missions.
yep, and i am not changing my sweet baby orbital Railgun
Just don’t pick an operation with that modifier
@@ValiantDiver my brother in liberty that is not the point
well switch to 500kg when that modifier is active
But when scatter is on, rail cannon can miss also….
The Railcannon strike is invaluable thanks to its precise and reliable strike capabilities
I one time threw it at an area with a hulk and some other medium units and it locked on to some random devastator near the hulk and wasted the shot
@@raptorbrotherhood766I have used it many times and never had it do t😢
Yeah it started doing that after the update😢
For you maybe. I have it targetting random small enemies even when I drop it right on the enemy I want it to hit. It's just been randomly unreliable, but the OPS is INCREDIBLE and reliable.
Wait this game is still alive ?
Rail cannons main appeal is it's lock on. If the precision has that it would make the railcannon redundant.
Just don't miss 😮💨
@@N38Productions just ask the bile titan to politely stand still or move in the correct direction while you drop an orbital on it.
@@christianwilson5956 Skill issue. Real divers stand right under that sucker to keep it in place. You'll die but you'll die for Liberty.
This is mostly a joke. I know it's hard to tell nowadays. It's still a good strategy though.
It defo is a good strat just let it go into its puke animation while the orbital is landing ,but in the jungle that B hit a tree and its not always precise even tho its in the name @@spectralassassin6030
nah you're right. because of the modifier on some planets legit making it so some of your orbi's drop "near" the call in and not on the call in
*Atmospheric interference has entered the chat*
😂❤️
I love hearing that boom 😅
500kg
I have been running Precision and Stun Grenades for pretty much the entire time I've had Stuns. These changes might make it so I don't "need" to run stuns anymore. That's not even mentioning that the Precision seems to do more damage than the Rail Strike. (I've seen very few Biles survive a Precision, but it's quite commonplace with the Rail.)
Stuns are awesome. I usually run them in our groups, so at least one person has them. Makes those headshots on charges and hulks so much easier!
I don’t know why but whenever my teammates or me use a orbital precision it always hits me and either kills me or heavily damages me and I just use air strikes to deal with my problems mostly but I can agree it does seem more effective damage wise then the rail cannon also did they give the orbital precision spread?
@@ravenofthenight5367 It doesn't have spread unless there is an Operation Modifier in play. Specifically, the Atmospheric Interference modifier cause orbital stratagems (and *ONLY* orbital) to have dramatic and random scatter.
With that modifier in play, the Precision Orbital Strike is, in my humble opinion, completely unusable.
Railgun Strike needs a HUGE buff, like taking down an entire Factory Strider in a single shot buff.
@@KaanTechCrazythat’d be way too strong, the striders don’t even take that much that to take down anyway l.
but the rail cannon is still effective since its lock on and its still a good option and we don't have to listen to a meta since were fighting ai not our own people and everyone can use what they want unless its Treason
I just don’t like the cooldown personally. Railcannon feels great against behemoths tho. I think it should one shot bile titans for the cooldown
@@jpgonz.9481 agreed with the one shot bile titan
@@The_Icelandic_TeabagI’ve never been able to find a reason to use the railcannon over the laser. I’ve never seen a railcannon reliably take down armored enemies, meanwhile drop a laser & it’s very likely to chew through two hulks & a couple fabs before it’s done.
@@jpgonz.9481nope, will be too OP if it one shots bile titans since it’s auto targeting and you basically don’t need to aim, just throw in the general direction. It’s fine as is, they just need to reduce the cooldown if anything.
Only three uses is rough on longer missions. @uberghost9064
I have come to find out that the Rail cannon can still one shot the titans if you wait for him to do his acid attack. When he’s in his position, it allows the cannon to get a direct shot at the head killing it instantly.
Intel appreciated
INTEL CONFIRMED! FOR MANAGED DEMOCRACY!
Rail Cannon will never die. Gotta aim with the OPS.
Rail cannon for life. Chuck it in the direction of the pest and watch the charger/ hulk/ tank get deleted. Or the atat or bile titan take a hard hit.
You can chuck it over a hill for you buddy if all else fails
I dropped an atat on helldive with a precision last night, the cooldown is the best part
And wait 2 hours for the next orbital cannon
I'll take my 2 hour cooldown for fire and forget.
It would be, but there is one problem: Atmospheric Interference modifier.
Plus people on helldive don't use railstrike -- they use 500kg. Yes, you need to aim it, but it kills both heavies in one shot, can adclear in a pinch, doesn't miss and has a cool down of 64 seconds (128 for 2 charges to be exact). Plus it looks extremely cool.
Railcannon strike should be improved by making it a one shot kill on any enemy it hits, and upgradeable to specifically have a even shorter cooldown
The number of times my rail canon went for the wrong target... I'm surprised there isn't a hole in my monitor. Or my quasar hits the charger's head but charger says no.
Aim for a leg. I find it more reliable than headshots. The armored ones ignore headshots.
@@egr1957 This. With the behemoths, quasar to the leg, then grenade pistol/impact to the leg is a quicker kill
Once the spear is fixed I'd no longer need to use the railcanon.
Ive noticed the spear can now lock on intended targets a little easier and a LOT faster. Ive found myself not having to change positions all the time just to lock onto a target that only has a small bush in the way.
Spear and ORC makes good pair for titans. Because when spear doesnt one shot, ORC will finish the job so you can lock onto the next target without wasting 2nd shot on the same target.
One advantage the rail strike cannon has is you don’t actually have to be able to see the enemy you’re throwing it at they could be behind a wall or a building and the canon will still mess up their day
Rail gun strike is still fantastic. With the increase in chargers it’s actually the best possible strat to use as it’s a guaranteed 1 shot.
I love seeing ppl bring precision strike but didn’t know there were orbital scatter on and killed themself
Point being orbital rail cannon will never be dead
They’ve reduced the call in time to 2 seconds, but I’ve never seen it coming in under 3 or 4 seconds.
Fully agree. OPS and gatling strike are the go to
I was testing last few days and gas strike still seems slightly better at cloging bug breaches then gatling barrage becouse it last longer
I prefer the Orbital Gas Strike over the gatling, it has more consistent area denial and the impact of the shell itself is as powerful as the OPS shell so it can destroy bug holes, fabricators, and even detection towers!
@@commandoepsilon4664its ability to take it holes and fabricators makes it a better pick I think. Although I think if you only look at vs units, I think Gatling may take the cake.
@@commandoepsilon4664 I like the gas strike too but..... boolet, many boom.
Gats more fun but gas is better
This is what I needed. Been using this thing even before the buff and still loved
The head shot at the end was sick move haha nice job
You mean something got buffed in this game?
ITS A XMAS MIRACLE!
Mate I’ve been saying this since the stun grenade came out. ITS BEEN GREAT. I’ve been getting +10 kills with a single orbital strike. I can take out two chargers with a single one, its cooldown was quicker then the railcannon waaaay before this patch, and its just all around incredible for everything.
I don't think I've ever seen anyone over level 50 take orbital railcanon, ever.
I always thought the precision strike was in a good spot, but the fact that on some missions with the right modifiers made its call in time almost 10 whole seconds I often opted out of using it or exclusively used it for utility like detector towers or research stations
The mad scientists back at Super Earth know what they're doing
Honestly it’s always been that way, railcannon’s lock on is great, but the short cooldown of precision strike and 500kg makes them stronger if you can hit it, they both have a niche
Just because a better option exists, doesn’t make the railcannon strike dead. You don’t need to play optimally, it’s still exactly as strong as it were.
1.Eagle airstrike 2.rail cannon 3.orbital strike 4.spear
Make for a deadly heavy armour load out, while being able to take out bug holes and swarms with the airstrike. You can swap out the airstrike for the 110mm to add to the devastation, just remember to keep the grenade pistol and lethal grenades for the bug holes.
If I have to choose between the ORCS or the OPS when facing a charger - I am taking the ORCS every time. Sure, the OPS has been buffed for it's time, but the chargers will usually get away before it drops unless you get them to get stunned hitting a rock, making them stop for a few seconds
Rail strike still tracks so it doesn't need you to also take something that stuns, to play danger close kiting, or time the shot to land correctly. Lower risk shot, longer cool down.
I have been genuinely enjoying the game now since my burn out of the game tired of using the same class but now I can run around with an mg, napalm eagle strikes, and orbital precision strikes which makes me feel like I’m in Vietnam.
That last shot, the BT was absolutely decimated!
Both of these were, and still are outclassed by the thousand pounder, given it's post upgrade. 3 1/2 minutes between each railcannon strike, 1 1/2 between orbital precisions, and 2 1/2 between 500kgs. post upgrade though you get 2 thousand pounders, recharging after 2 minutes while orbitals only get a 10% reduction. Economy aside it has consistent accuracy and a controllable angle of attack, and is unaffected by atmospheric interference, but most importantly it's more badass. Eagle-01comes flying through letting off flares, scraping the air, giving out one-liners, opens the bay door, the bomb sticks to the floor, sometimes the titan themselves, giving your brain just enough time to process where the bomb is before it lets out the loudest, biggest explosion which can be seen halfway across the map.
Also, the rocket pods for the eagle hit harder and more accurately making it a great armor killer
Love the 110 rockets. They have that sweet homing capability and have taken out many titans with it and a few chargers.
Orbital precision strike has always been goated. I've always ran it and still do. Mix it with the orbital toxic gas strike and you not only have anti-tank, but as well as a hoard clearer, both with short cooldowns.
The precision strike was good with practice before the buff imo now its a must take
Funny how in the first game the Rail cannon was the go to for anti tank and hevay units. You could spam it faster than even the Gatling in the second game.
Orbital precision has always been the way. Its precise within 30 feet of your mark, massive load, oh and minimal cool down time it’s like the gas strike for bugs but for your heavy duty nightmares
I run ORS and OPS together, ORS guarantees a hit at least and then you can take it out with impacts. OPS can get blocked by a jumping hunter or you can mess the timing up with the stratagem deployment increases, or completely miss with orbital scatter
I was already using it on titans gonna have to get used to the new timing
I usually bring both.
Precision strike as the all-arounder strat, and railcannon for titans or fire and forget for any heavies I don't feel like dealing with.
You can also use the precision strike to destroy some things that usually require hellbombs
i used a precision strike on a bile titan one time and it flung into the air killing one of my teammate as it landed. Didnt know bile titan ragdolls could still kill but that was a sight to see.
Running both of those and the orbital gatling and you have a serious loadout with some room for a support weapon.
Holy sh*t dude I just realised we played a game together yesterday
I hope our dive went well 😎 Keep spreading Managed Democracy, soldier!
Those two strategems were competing with another, but now I wont bring the Railcannon at all anymore XD. Gotta adjust that one a little, give it a niche
I've been using the precision strike this whole time, it's great for everything.
ORC + impact grenade at same time is the only thing that drops BTs instantly every time
On the spewer heavy maps I bring both the precision and rail cannon strikes because I run auto cannon for said spewers. Both are good for all the heavy units but I like rail cannon specifically for behemoths
Congratulations to the Super Earth Science Team! Their improvements in our technology will allow us to protect our way of life more efficiently!
Well said, Citizen!
They can both be a pain to use against bile titans, the precision strike because it requires patience and timing and positioning, and the rail cannon because it just doesn’t have the killing power to justify the long cooldown. You sometimes need MULTIPLE rail cannon strikes to confirm the kill on a titan and it sucks
Eagle 110s generally do the same amount of dam, but with way less downtime
I’d like to see the rail cannon strike’s cooldown decreased to maybe 150-180, then it would be viable again, I think the precision strikes call in time should go back to 3-4 seconds to compensate and make the decision of which to bring a truly tough one
I still think the two stratagems have separate, albiet similar niches to each other. The Precision Strike can effectively be a Railcannon Strike with less than half of its cooldown and consequently more than twice its impact on a mission, but that's only if you actually hit every shot. There are many situations where you can't land a Precision Strike because of sporadic enemy movement, a bad angle or a literal skill issue, so you would be better off with the Railcannon Strike. I personally almost always run the Precision Strike so I can force myself to improve at using it, but I still think the Railcannon Strike has its own unique role in peoples' loadouts.
I still mainly use the railcannon because normally I'm using it in the heat of battle so I can just check it while I'm running and diving to take out the biggies
I was already using the Precision Strike, so the update just made it better.
I still prefer the tail because it has such a small area of affect you can easily drop it right next to friendlies and deal with the main target without milling yourself or teammates accidentally
I've been using the precision air strike for over 2 months. I don't even own the game ive just always found it better than 210 seconds rail cannon when i go to my friends to play. He always doubted me, IT IS NOW MY TIME TO STRIKE WITH MORE PRECISION.
Hope this doesn't mess up my timing though ive had it down for so long already.
I wouldn't say its dead. I don't personally use it but my friends that do use it I tell them to save it for bile titans as we can use EATs, recoiless, Quasar, OPS, etc on chargers. Bile Titans consistently cause the most panic and breaking of defensive lines than any other unit and thats mostly because of its damage sponge capability. Saving the Railcannon for when they pop out of the ground neuters their main advantage. Just use the railcannons on bile titans and factory striders and not chargers and hulks which can die to many other options and it still has utility
Considering the deployment time of the Precision is bugged it's even MORE OP. With upgrade the call-in should be 1s but it's still 3...
Railcannon needs to be 60s so we can take it as heavy weapons replacement for more fun loadouts.
This was already a better pick before the buff. The railcannon had the potential of not killing large enemies such as bile titans, and already had a longer call-in time.
This buff was just a cherry on top of an already superior cake
Interestingly, the Railcannon already existed on a bellcurve. At first it doesn't seem particularly amazing, because what's even worth throwing it at, there are plenty of perfectly good anti-tank support weapons like the EAT. Then as large target count climbs, having a fire-and-forget option like the Railcannon or Orbital Laser becomes super valuable. And then later again, you realize the cooldown on the Railcannon and the limited use count on the laser just don't make them worth bringing when good anti-tank like the EAT and the Orbital Precision Strike exist.
In the end, it all comes back to hitting them with the OPS.
Cooldown on the railcannon isn't the worst if a whole team runs it. That's 4 in one go or 4 staggered across a few minutes. Either way it makes up for the downtime especially if you run other heavy killers too (like the quasar).
always took OPS on every mission, always a good option with a decent cooldown. now it's even better? hell yeah
Bro the Precision strike was so unaccurate it would miss the location everytime
You have to SEE the planet modifiers.
Some planets have a modifier that makes orbital Strikes to don't hit where they are supposed to.
Only the Rail gun and the orbital laser are unaffected by this modifier
I recently moved from the Railcannon to the precision, but I wouldn't say it's dead. There are times having that precision is great, especially with atmospheric nterference or increased plotting causing issues.
Orbital scatter has entered the room
Easy solution: Take both (and a pair of Eagle strikes so you get to say hi to Eagle-1 a lot)
I've been getting fantastic use out of the precision strike. Tanks and factory striders are perfect targets for them. Hulks and bile titans are a bit more difficult.
Ill be happy once the rail cannon can consistantly one-shot titans.
now LNP stealth will be harder for nuking single building bases, with a side of evasive LNP checking confusion
110mm rocket pods are pretty good now too
I use both now. Sometimes u need to take put 2 heavies very quickly lol
I still and will use it. Very handy 😊
Just be sure to check the effects on your planet. Some planets have increased orbital spread, meaning that “precision” strike could hit up to like 30 meters off target.
Rail not die at all ) his auto aim still goddess
Railcannon can pierce though thick foliage better than the strike. Now that theres a jungle planet thats going to be very crucial
From a quote once said: *FREEDOM RINGS MOTHERFU- B O O M*
I love precision strike with the stun grenades. Makes charger kills easier
And once they make the red beacon strategems go where the beacon is like the blue ones the precision strike will be busted
I'll be sticking with my Orbital rail if it's all the same.
Something bigger is coming. That's the only message I got from this.
OPS always been this good it was the intro of stun grenades that made it top tier.
Railcannon strike: automated targeting even after being thrown off your feet and drop the strat
One hit capability, major damage output if it's not one hit
Precision strike: needs to be aimed and planned for effective damage output
Can become your grave if thrown of feet and drop strat
Railcannon clearly still the better option
i didn’t know mrduck played helldivers 2! hello zomboid man
The best way they're killing strategems. Not nerfing it. But buffing other strategems. I'll 100% take that!!!
I just bring both, one for its quick call and recharge, the rail strike for its aggressive tracking and as a backup.
The orbital rain canon is still the best for bile titans
So the sacks (yes there are 2, the chest one is separate) have a different health pool for some reason, so taking the sack sour first then calling in the strike will still 1 shot titans
You know what else one shots titans…. The orbital precision lol that’s without breaking the sack. And its cooldown is greater.
Me, who sometimes runs both:
This is fine
The strafing run is also underrated in my book.
I’ve always preferred orbital strike even before the update, lol now it just messes with my timing
Best load put for bugs. FIRE. Flm thrower, las guard dog,500 kg, obrital gatling, incendiary nade, gernade pistol, and breaker incendiary
Idk about the flame thrower, too risky, 1 out of 2 times I use it, I’m likely to get burnt or a teammate haha. Flame is powerful but it’s too much of a liabilty
With the nerf to amount of big enemis it really doesnt matter and it still is better to randomly drop the strategem near enemies and hit them instead of sitting there aming and hoping the guy doesnt move in next 2 sec
Railcannon is not dead, its still extremely useful as a deploy and forget tool.
I suppose. I never really used the rail cannon strike because it took forever to recharge. It's only upside is it targets things. It wouldn't be bad if it killed bile titans, but it doesn't.
I KNEW IT!!!
Definitely popular. The laser strike has become more dangerous. It tends to chase targets closer to players, making the players move for their lives.
Or in my case, managed to trick a bile titan into stepping on a hell bomb.
