All emails from your website to your customer or your admin email are free. Yes, when a booking is cancelled, it will automatically send an email to the customer. And if the customer cancels a booking, the hotel admin will receive an email.

What I've done before is doing the equations in Ms Word using an extension then I copy paste in WordPress posts. If I find a plugin straight up, I'll make a tutorial.
