Why? Becsuse someone on some video said those recto cabs and speakers sound “better”’? They don’t. Speakers are by design inconsistent. There is zero evidence or proof that “early 2000s”‘recto cabs and speakers are far better or superior than the ones being made today. Soooo many of modern metal records that are influential have been done with post 2008-2009 recto cabs. It means nothing. Buy some speakers, keep the ones you like, the year rumor is complete rubbish.
Does John use these live? I went to the dreamsonic show at Masonic temple in Detroit ,mi july 11th and his guitar tone live was amazing! These sounds in the ir pack are dope!
Given that we already have his Neural DSP plugin (that I own), I think this pack is overpriced. I would pay $39.99 for the pack. There are so many quality IR packs out there for less.
That's because Neural make their money by not employing any kind of data security. There's an ongoing massive breach which leaves all their users' data exposed.

is it the sample rate that is making these sound so good? I normally record in 48k so automatically go with 48k sampled IR's 🤔

Live John uses his JP2Cs with a mic'd 1x12 kept off stage.
This IR pack contains a few 1x12 Mesa captures. Run a JP2C into those IR’s and see what you get.
