Actually, an individual Bonus Cab 2x12 Recto from JP IR Pack sounds very BC&SL-ish to my ears) try it) has this mid cut and full sound, that we can hear on BC&SL mixes) My favorite JP sound too)
John has proven himself not to be an excellent artist but also a great entrepreneur and visionary. From DT, LTE, Solo Project to his business ventures Tonemission, Guitar Camp, Beard products, Bourbon, desinging his own signature products directly with OEM (guitars, pedals, cabinets) and I don't know how many other ventures and projects. I wouldn't be amazed if he launched his own hot sauce and BBQ rub company in the years to come! I must say that John is a great visionary and applied it really well to his ecosystem : music ! Congrats John !
People are asking for IRs of old album recorded sounds. From different studios, different cabs, mics, etc etc etc. It could only be an approximation, albeit from a pretty reputable source. These are REAL snap shots with the actual fundamental parts of the IR. Vol 2 will be the next three JP album offerings.
Love JP, he's an icon that will go down in history but $80 for an IR pack ($105 CDN for me! hahah) not a f'king chance. I'll stick with my $40 Bogren IRs, which suit me fine. Clearly the margin cut for JP is as legendary as his status.
incredible to hear such passion about tone, happy that my favorite guitarist truly cares about what he's putting out there and shares his knowledge, i bought the pack and its seriously good, look forward to vol.2 !
This is a great start, but in future offerings I'd really like to see them do something on the level of the Choptones IR packs, or the old God's Cab IR pack, if that's still around. An abundance of high-quality mic and speaker placement options ensures that the product is truly for everyone, and everyone's guitar/amp setup.
Very cool! I wish more artists shared IRs of their cabs. I have to poke and plod through hundreds of generic IRs to find one that is close to what I'm looking for. On another note, my first two guitars were Aria Pro II Cardinals (an 82 and 83 bought new) and I still have them. Loved them so much I started the Guitar Gallery in 2000 (and still maintain it today).
@@Kinetex Jo, that is of course a damn proud price. I think $39 would be good too. Then a lot more people would buy it. I will wait. There are plenty of other IRs that sound good too. And they cost a fraction.
I look forward to seeing people buy this and then wonder why they don't sound like JP himself. Boys… it’s just a fuck1ng EQ curve… there are other guys who can position a mic in front of a cab… buy Bogren‘s if you also want to get producer knowledge.
Picked it up straight away yesterday. Great pack! Gonna take a while to get through it all, as I'm kinda stuck on the terminal pack with a ribbon on one side and condenser on the other. Great sound. Congrats.
Really outstanding sounds! With Archetype Petrucci I had a huge improvement, especially with monitors. I’m happy! Are you also thinking to do Kemper profiles? That would be great! Congratulations for the super high quality you are always expressing with your signature devices!
How cool! I'm wondering about how could it would be if you guys could release a series where you capture new IRs while mimicking some classic Dream Theater tones
I bought this right after it was released but haven’t got the chance to download until the link expired. I tried to email customer care but never got any response. Anyone got same experience?
On his site I believe it says it is compatible with AxeFx, Mesa Modelers, the NeuralDSP plugins, etc. but I cannot tell you if they come in anything but .wav format. Maybe check the FAQ?
Can someone explain to me what the hell this is ? I still have no idea and don't understand what's inside those three boxes lol. Is it a VST ? What is this
No, it's a pack of impulse responses. I recommend just googling it because it's a bit tricky to explain. The TLDR of it is that they're basically cabinet/mic simulations based on a capture of real cab/mic, but it's a bit more complicated than that.
These IRs are all I use now and my live tone has never been better. Thank you John, Jimmy and Maddi!
Awesome to hear! Thanks for using Tonemission 🤘
Black Clouds IR's would be amazing. Don't know if it's possible to go back and recreate, but a man can Dream.... Theater
I see what u did there! 👍🏻

Agreed
Love hearing Maddi speak

Sound it better to your ears than let’s say Bogren‘s or the ones by OwnHammer?
Just ordered 🤘
So cool. Looking forward to trying these IR's, and also looking forward to future products👍👍

Our New Chorus lol, Learning to Lead, these are great.
79 usd is a bit expensive , i hope discounts will be applied soon or in the future.
i love the tones from john petrucci
$79 for an IR pack is insanity. Don’t care how good it might be, you’ve priced yourself out of the market.
Facts bro, was excited for this ir collection, until I saw the price, gonna stick with the ggd cali pack I got I suppose

Sad that JP, who must be extremely wealthy, are showing this kind of greed.
I think this digital era has become shit. Tone is great and all, but it’s more more more. Fuck it, I’m logging off 😁

Young John and his Gibson Les Paul 😲
It wasn't a Gibson les Paul lol.. it's Aria Pro II Cardinal Series
I'm in!!!!
Wow!!! Very inspiring
I definitely need to try this!
Thank you guitar methuselah!
Cant wait to give those a try!
money makes the world go round................
Hope to see also other product as Kemper pack in future

Wow, nice video....talking about tones....without a single tone!! Idk, I already have thousands of IRs, I am not paying $80 for a few more.
$79?
Bye, Felicia!
We need a Signature beard oil too!
A signature JP beard oil already exists indeed! Google "Nebula" beard oil by Captain Fawcett and you'll find it ;)
@@emanuelericossa3643 No way?! Hell yeah thanks!
❤
Will these work on a Kemper?
They sure will!
Those ir's are in sysex format olso? For fractal AX8?

The Fractal units will accept wav. Just open the 48k IRs Manage Cabs in the editor.
What are these compatible with? Axefx, Helix, PodGo?
Anything with ir loader. Even plugin like neural dsp
What is the "dreamworld" album? I've never heard of that before.
It's "A View From the Top of the World" by Dream Theater.
@@wilfbiffherb Thanks for clarifying! I definitely know about that album. Weird that they called it something else. Anyway, cheers!
@@Tanax13 it's ok. Likely for legal reasons he can't name it directly after the albums. Same eith the other two.

@@ElShogoso So it's basically a preset of a plugin lol.
Quite a fancy wording indeed.
Lol, price is atrocious. Why the greed?
Such amazing musicians in dream theater yet they have the worst singer ever
