Thanks, Tim. Very enjoyable and informative, as always. Fished at my local club lakes today after watching your video. Had my best ever day on buzzers and emergers!
Iv been guiding in the Seychelles catching all the big nasties for the last 10 years and this is the stuff that makes me tick since lockdown. Thanks so much for all the tips!
@timjoyceflyfishing-essex6769 just on my way home from farmoor . Fantastic day 23 fish to the bank 4 or 5 lost. F2 reservoir. Most fell to a red buzzer on the bung with multiple double hook ups successfully landed. Fantastic fishing. Good luck for tomorrow mate.
Superb stuff as always …I always learn something new watching your videos. I’ll be trying both the techniques you found so effective. Amazing to see trout feeding on buzzers so early in the season. Keep up the great work 👍🎣
Thanks . Glad you enjoy the vids . Been a very mild winter this year , buzzers are a little early but I was surprised as you at just how much surface activity there was ! .. One of those red letter days !
Great to see another video Tim, that was great sport there at Chigborough..I’m not leaving it late this year and will get as many trips in as possible 🎣 👍🏼
I love that plastic rod holder, I always set up 3 rods and sometimes my droppers get tangled up in other rods, a right old mess, this could be the solution. Great video as usual
Brilliant . I love this time of year when everything starts to spring into life ! .. As a fly angler we are now into the easy days of spring at long last !
Excellent video. You've explained what you were using and your thoughts about why and when you were using each method. It's already improved my approach & looking forward to putting into practice.
Floating lines will always have a bit of memory and it depends how much use they have . The longer they sit on a spool not being used the worse the memory . If you have big gaps between trips take your floating line off the spool and hang it in big open loops on a coat hanger and store it somewhere cool . You can give the line a slight stretch but this can damage the line and cause the plastic to separate from the core . Line memory always looks much worse when being used at low water temps .
Re tie . You can just cut your leader at the dropper knot and re tie the break using a 3 turn water knot leaving a long tail ... no need to re do the whole leader this way ... Oh and don't change flies so often ! lol ... its not usually the fly that needs changing but the depth or speed you are fishing at that needs addressing . Thanks for watching .
Hi Tim. A couple of questions on your dry fly set up. Do you use any floatant for any length of the fluorocarbon? Here I was thinking of drag when setting the hook. Do you use floatant on the dry fly? Other than that, thanks for the video, very informative. :)
No I use flurocarbon so the leader sinks . I also degrease to encourage it to sink . One of the biggest causes of refusals on dries is the fish seeing the leader .. it must sink ! As for the flies , with the CDC emerger like this one in the vid adding flotant can mess with the natural buoyancy of the fly so I just keep it dry . With all other flies a very very small application of gink on the back of the fly before the session and then after each fish is caught will keep those flies up . Remember less is more when it comes to applying flotant to a fly !
Tim myself and two others struggled at our local small still water yesterday tried buzzers and Diawl bachs on washing line and straight linning and the bung and dries, fish were repeatedly coming vertically out of the water like rockets but no joy any ideas? It was cold with intermittent light wind
That kind of behaviour is usually a sign of stress . Poor water quality i.e algae bloom or low O2 , angling pressure , had there been a comp the day before ? Or even a big air pressure change can upset them like this . If I see this kind of repeated behaviour it always means we are in for a tough day !
Its a sample I was sent some time ago . No brand . Nice enough line but I couldn't say where you might find one . Casts like a Snowbee XS would be the closest I think .
no more than six inches . Quite often as little as 4 if I am casting into a heavy wind . Long droppers dont improve presentation and only cause tangles .
Hi Tim, Another great video, what made you go for the crisp packet over the olive buzzer? My understanding was early season buzzers are lighter in colour... Many thanks Marc
Its usually the other way round but it does depend on your lake . Normally the early season buzzers are big and black , grey boys , crisp packets .. as the season progresses then you see the olives ..
This is from Bill Bonas . You can find him on facebook . Makes them to order .. excellent bit of kit ! Mention me when you message him . facebook.com/bill.bonas

Not long now mate . !!
I love buzzer fishing 👍😎👌. Great video 👏
Had a lot of fun making this .. Cant beat the aggression and confidence of fish on early season buzzers !
@@timjoyceflyfishing-essex6769 totally agree. Had a very similar experience last week Klink n Dinking 😂

Thanks' for watching .. I do love chasing those big nasties !
Top quality video Tim. I’m sure you catch more fish in a day than I catch in a month! Thank you for sharing your knowledge. 👍😊
No problem at all . Thanks for watching
Have been watching your videos for a while. Has really helped me become a more rounded fly fisherman. You are very appreciated 👏 tight lines!
Glad you enjoy the content . I have a lot of fun making these
@timjoyceflyfishing-essex6769 I bet you do! Heading off to Farmoor myself this Saturday. Will definitely be trying some of your methods.
@@rached9787 Let me know how you get on . I am at Farmoor Sunday with the England youth squad for a training day .

At 11:30 minutes in that fish really took that buzzer!! I zoomed in on your line and could see the eat. I really appreciate this, thanks!!
And that's the appeal of buzzer fishing . The aggression and confidence of the fish when they are on them . Hard to beat those rod ripping takes !
Great program, good to have you back
Great to find the time to get a vid done . Hope it wont be so long next time !
Great video Tim Great watch
Thanks for watching
Well done Tim, very interesting fishing session.
Not complaining but definitely not what I was expecting ! ...
Thanks, Tim. Going to try buzzer fishing on Lough Corrib here in Ireland in a couple of weeks. Will try your tips and see what happens !
Its a killer method for those big wild browns on the Irish Loughs . Had some great days on Mask fishing buzzers . Good luck .
very nice video Tim, welcome back
Great to be out with the cameras again ! .. Been a minute ! Thanks for watching

All right Tim can I ask your rod carrier is it made with the 40mm pipe or 32mm as I’m about to make one
Was the rod you were using a true fly t2 would it handel sinking lines I already have a 10ft wt7 rated rs2
It has its limits . I wouldn't use it for anything heavier than an intermediate .. The RS range were much much better for sinking lines
Great video, both instructive and entertaining.Where did you source the rod holder?
A chap called Bill Bonas makes them to order they are excellent ! You can get him through my facebook page ..
