I searched for a favorite striker pistol in 9mm, since I enjoy 1911s and wanted something different. I purchased the PPQ M2 and fell in love with the trigger , and traded up to the Q5 match topped off with a Leupold Delta optic. Ridiculous accuracy that is almost like cheating. This led to buying the PPQ 5” barrel in 22LR for training. It eats everything...even cheap plinking ammo. My love of the 45 ACP round then lead to my search for a home defense handgun with greater capacity and a rail for light and laser. The Walther PPQ 45 was the answer! It is truly a pleasure. Tom is correct: the ergos and the trigger make it easily accurate beyond belief and a joy to shoot. No failures after the first 600 rounds. One more thing: I may be becoming a Walther fan boy, because I white color filled all three on the left side of the slide. Good Lord!
Tom -----you are so right. My wife shot my VP9 and liked it so I took her to the store and she tried a PPQ m1and it was even better than the VP9.....she bought it right away.....its her number 1 gun.....Walther makes them great
I watched every minute of the video. I appreciate all of the details you go through. Your articulate method to get the message across make it fun and educational. Now I have to buy another pistol because of you, LOL!
The PPQ has the best ergonomics I have felt in a handgun followed by the M&P 2.0 I have the 40 S&W version it works fine for that round not too much flip and can shoot it good.
Weapons Education I just picked up a PPQ 45 for a Christmas present to myself. I knew it was an awesome gun before I bought it, but holy crap I am extremely happy I was able to get my hands on one. I think this .45 is the best on the market and is way underrated. You are right about the accuracy. Even though it’s a .45, it’s still hard to put bad groups on paper. Thanks for the video. God bless.
Hey thanks for sharing this entertaining and very informative video. Made quite a few great points about this excellent.45, I’m sold on this one after this detailed review. Great content. Thanks again.
I have three of Tom's custom handmade shoulder holsters. They are the best quality I have ever seen in a type of leather holster. I plan on buying another one next week for my Glock 20.
Hey Tom, I have the Walther 45 ppq m2 and it really is just that beautiful. They've spoiled me with the trigger. I think I am going to be a Walther guy going forward because that trigger is just so perfect. Anything else is just sub par.
Im a PPQ 9mm Fan all the way My go to Target pistol a Very underrated firearm and great trigger hard to beat. I also Own a P99 AS .40 Wish the PPQ had the AS.Trigger even more better JMO.Great Vid Man! I notice Alot of people Not liking the PPQ,P99AS. Triggers Stating there too light I do believe most of those shooters are used to or grew up with heavy or gritty triggers .I could mention o few makes but no need to b a hater. This is a great positive Review.👍
Truly outstanding pistol. On any given day my 9mm PPQ M1 might just be my favorite striker fired polymer, right neck and neck with the G19. MAC just did an outstanding review of the PPQ TAC which is also worth checking out.
I have 4 PPQs. One 9mm od green frame, a 9mm full Magpul FDE, a .40 all black and the .45. All M2s. So, I like them. The 9mm versions are just so good and eat any ammo. The .40 is kinda punchy due to the higher ish bore axis of the PPQ. The .45 is a hoss but has the best trigger and slide finish of all my models. It's a great shooter
Awesome video like always tom, my brother wanted this pistol so bad for years. I have the hk vp9 and I love it, hey tom can you do a video about gun safety because I read a south American woman shooting a 500 magnum for the first time and some how she did a double tap and shot herself in the head at the range in Missouri gun range, and there's one accident that this guy was shooting a Desert Eagle 50cal close to he's for head at the range and knocked him self out cold you be surprised how people shoot firearms at the range thanks tom.
Just a tip, you barely have to pull the slide back to reset the striker. On the PPQ the reset distance is less than a quarter inch. I love my PPQ M1. Magnificent gun in all regards. I agree the stock sights are less than perfect, but I swapped in a pair of the steel PPS sights ($30 or so) and fitted tritium vials from www.mixglo.com to convert them to night sights for under $50 all-in. What's even better is that it leaves a stock sight alignment with no change in POA/POI from stock. All you have to do is drill out the sight dots on the PPS sights. They do require a tiny bit of filing to fit in the PPQ dovetail, but you can tap them on yourself with a punch wrapped in some cloth if you are careful and are moderately handy. The trigger is amazing right out of the box, but if you are interested in tuning for competition, this guy is the king: lanzerbot.wordpress.com/2014/06/20/walther-ppq-m2-trigger-job/ Great review of a great pistol. Thanks.
I just bought one! Walked in to the store and they had one in display for 514$ The guy asks me anything that you might be interested in and i told him PPQ M2 and he goes okay let me get that and i replayed just get the paperwork out!!
Tom, I purchased a PPQ 45 ACP about 3 months ago and man is it a dream to shoot. I'd have to agree with what you said about it being hard to miss with too, just put that front sight post where you want it to hit and it's MONEY EVERYTIME. Great video and I'd like to see some range footage when you can, take care and be safe out there My Man 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I'm not a striker fire fan, plus I am one if the few who prefers a manual safety since I am so accustomed to carrying a 1911, but that looks interesting. Thanks Tom.
yeah I saw that, hes got a point about that, but bottom line is if it dont feel somewhat good in my hand, Im not buying it. Surewe should learn to shoot anything like he said, but Im not going out of my way to buy a gun if it dont feel good in hand. Kinda like the Sig 365, S&W shield, and G43. The G43 feels good in my hand the other two not as good, so Id buy the G43.
Weapons Education well since u asked, first and foremost, the recoil impulse is obnoxious. The p320 slide sits very high but the sights track nicely, unlike the ppq. So that would come down to poor design. The stock sights are garbage. I actually prefer extra light between my notch and post but the ppq sights or rear notch are too short with the extra light on top of that. Their just not efficient, yes I know they can be replaced. The slide stop is in a poor spot and has no barrier to keep from constantly being held down with a proper grip. I don't like shooting pistols with a revolver grip. The trigger is nice, but it's not all about a light trigger pull, it's about the pistol as a whole to work in unison, which the ppq does not do.

Smith and Walther has had a relationship in the past..Thanks

I have the Walther PPS in 9mm for my Concealed carry and I love it.
Great video fam
Truly outstanding pistol. On any given day my 9mm PPQ M1 might just be my favorite striker fired polymer, right neck and neck with the G19. MAC just did an outstanding review of the PPQ TAC which is also worth checking out.
Both guns you mentioned are great guns , thanks

Love my PPQ
Check DPM recoil reduction spring
I agree with you on the trigger. I got the PPQ M2 9mm and love the trigger.
I have the PPQ M1 9MM and absolutely dig it.
Thanks for your comment
Nice 45 👍
The single stack .45 is a nice package, thanks

Ok, I'll do it on the top three guns that cause injury....something like that.
My Walther Creed has an awesome trigger! I hope Walther makes a 10 MM VERSION!
I know the right people to make that happen, stay tuned!

Great review of a great pistol. Thanks.
Thanks for the quality comment
PPQs Rock, no doubt. Looking forward to an update on that RIA 10mm Commander.
I just bought one! Walked in to the store and they had one in display for 514$ The guy asks me anything that you might be interested in and i told him PPQ M2 and he goes okay let me get that and i replayed just get the paperwork out!!
Congratulations !
Al Covic lol. I’ve done that lots of times. I bought four .45’s in December 2019.
To the OP, thorough, excellent video. Thank You.

I could be wrong but I get the impression that you like it. lol
Yes, I have a passion for guns:)
Hey Tom, do you like Berettas?
Yes, I did a number of videos on them including this one: ruclips.net/video/9QGQeX3IkLw/видео.html
What happened to the new Video platform you were creating?
it is happening, 250K ...takes time.
I'd like to try the Walther PPQ sometime.
Come to south FL:)
Sometime I will have to make a trip to south Florida again.
I'm not a striker fire fan, plus I am one if the few who prefers a manual safety since I am so accustomed to carrying a 1911, but that looks interesting. Thanks Tom.
I was the same until I tried the m1 9mm, now own an m2 9mm and .45.
good video :)
I'm kinda fond of a paddle magazine release. Otherwise, Sweet! :)
I like the paddle also, this button on the PPQ is different then others as you barely have to push it in. Thanks as always my friend.
I’d like to see MAC run a ppq through the gauntlet. Anyone know if he did and I just missed it?
Peter Dragon he did and it did fantastic
DieCookieDie ! Cool. Thanks for the reply
Done and if you give his "test" merrit it did nearly perfect.
I love the trigger
I love this gun!
Seems very hk like you said. Would love to shoot it.
if any of you you are in the Fort Lauderdale area , I will take you guys shooting any of my guns:)
Ask John Lovell about guns that “fit”.
yeah I saw that, hes got a point about that, but bottom line is if it dont feel somewhat good in my hand, Im not buying it. I what a ppq 45 can u ex Sten the magazine
12 plus one is pretty good for a .45 plus it is single stack. Thank you for your comment.
The ppq is overrated.
Why
Weapons Education well since u asked, first and foremost, the recoil impulse is obnoxious. The p320 slide sits very high but the sights track nicely, unlike the ppq. I agree with you on the sights, I changed them immediately. Thanks man.
