    we carry the 21, and for the last 6 years we train every month and shoot roughly 300 rounds a person ... I could count on one hand how many malfunctions my entire team has had... from stove pipes/double feeds etc... the glock is the weapon you want when shot hits the fan... rain, snow, mud, hands down...

      @@BERETTA9mmUSA NOT a Glock fan! The PPQ 45 is by FAR, one of the best OTB firearms I've ever shot. The trigger is unmatched among striker-fired firearms. Even better than my PPQ in 9mm, if that's possible. Although my P10c is better. I put an HBI trigger on it.

  • @82luft49

    I owned the PPQ 45, and ended up trading it in. Trigger too lite for my taste, and way too snappy. I just may be an exception, but I prefer the G21. Much smoother recoil (a mild push back as opposed to a uneasy jump with the PPQ. You can see Beretta Jr. adjusting his grip after every shoot.) and I don't mind the stock trigger. I like feeling of hitting the wall. Hardly any wall on the PPQ before pulling the trigger. Take it for what it's worth.

      82 Luft I hear ya, I don't know why they made the 45 PPQ lighter.... it really did not need that change from the 9mm PPQ pistols. Yes that PPQ 45 is more snappy IMO too.

    I see a sig p320 45acp in your future. I almost got the ppq 45 a month ago because I love my ppq m2 40 (which flips more than my g23) but passed on it and got a sig p320 instead. The only downside to the Walthers is the muzzle flip and everyone I know who doesn't really care for them is for that reason. The sig has the higher bore axis as well, but manages the recoil/muzzle flip better. Good comparison guys.

    I've had my PPQ .45 since late last October. 800ish rounds fired, 2 failures to feed with junk ammo and the spring on the slide release came loose once causing the slide to lock open after each round fired but it fixed easily with a quick field strip. Your mileage may vary but I've enjoyed mine immensely.

    • @82luft49
      @82luft49 7 лет назад

      Jon Cox, if the failures you mentioned happened in a desperate situation, you'd dead by now. Wouldn't happen with the dependable Glock. I find the PPQ (gave up my 9 M2) to be a little too dainty.

    I love my Walther ppq .45, I manage to shoot tight groups with it at 27 yards, and I am a 1911 guy who is used to the accuracy of single stag 45s. I can definitely recommend the Walther to anybody who likes 45s, the trigger is just so smooth and the grip feels great to me, they come with 3 different backstraps, so you can adjust it to your hand size. Personally I love both the Walther and the Glock. I have large hands so the grip swell on the Glock did not bother me at all. Just a note however, the Glock Gen. 4's do come with smaller grip swells. Also, I did cheat a bit. I changed guide rod from plastic to titanium, did some trigger work and got rid of the plastic sights. I also changed all of the plastic pins to the stainless steel pins. On the rail, I added the Strealight TLR-2. Important Note: Before I performed any modifications I noticed quite a bit less muzzle flip on the Glock over the Walther due to the Gen. 4's spring configuration. Nice review and video guys. Don't you just love the steel targets??

  • @dodgefreak8797
    @dodgefreak8797 7 лет назад +2

    one thing of note.. the first shooter had to re-adjust your grip after every shot through the walther and not with the glock.. the lower bore axis is most likely the reason. I have a walther p99 and I love it.

    • @rm5282
      @rm5282 5 лет назад

      True but he was able to keep a tight group. Even without changing his grip on the Glock his group was looser. Same shooter, different performance. I wish he would have adjusted his grip on the Glock to see if his groups would have been better. When I shoot the Walther PPQ M2. 45acp I don't have to readjust my grip. As you can see from the video neither did Baretta Sr.

I Picked up a barely used PPQ45 today for $496 out the door that included 4 mags trigicon night sights and a kydex holster. What a fun gun to shoot and a great deal that I stumbled upon. Groups shot were very tight at 7 and 10 yards. I'm going back to the range tomorrow to shoot it side by side with my CZ P10c. I love the triggers on both. I think that I would agree with your CZ P10c video that the PPQ trigger is a little better than the P10C's trigger. The reset on my P10C may be slightly better than the PPQ.

    Supposedly you can use Remington RP45 15 round magazines in the PPQ 45. I have one and it fits pretty flush and locks the slide open. Haven’t made it to the range yet to test, but others have and say it works.

    Thanks for the video. I'm debating on my next pistol purchase, with the Walther PPQ in .45 being one of my top two choices. I would have loved to see the Springfield XDm in this comparison as well.

      Both are very good, but the Walther PPQ In 45 has a much better trigger then the XDM.... That's just my take, you may like the XDM 45 better, and if so, it is a Great choice. :). Beretta Sr.

    primarily referring to the sight picture (too much air between the front post and rear sight) on the ppq. like i said though, that's the only gripe i have about the ppq, otherwise pretty much perfect... actually traded both glocks for a ppq long slide q5 2 days ago...LOL

    Check out the Sig P320 Compact in 45. I've had both the Glock and the PPQ and prefer the P320 Compact. It subjective but I find the PPQ trigger insanely light, fine for the range but a little to light for carry.

    Another great video! I've had the PPQ 45 for about 2 months now and love it. Added the stainless guide rod and rubber talon grips - which I think really make the PPQ grip even that much better. I love my glocks but this PPQ 45 is amazing. In fact I just ordered a 2nd one and more mags. My only negative with the PPQ is the trigger - don't get me wrong its great. But man is it light - almost too light I think to make me really comfortable carrying. However, still my first choice for a "battle" 45 pistol.

    I wish Walther offeted their PPQ M2 45 In a compact model. The ppq 45 I shot was magnificent thought it did have some jump to it. However almost all 45s have some jump to them, but a well made 45 front sight will drop right back in place. The ppq 45 does just that. I was quickly throwing controlled pairs in the kill zone. It's a fantastic weapon, but I'd like to have one in a more concealed carry size.

    • @BERETTA9mmUSA
      @BERETTA9mmUSA  7 лет назад

      I do not think the 45 PPQ gets the respect it deserves, when you consider what the pistol brings to the table for the price you pay to get one. That's just my take on it. It is a very good 45ACP pistol overall. Beretta Sr.

    Another excellent vid! Great job. As much as I like (okay love) my PPQ M2 9mm, I'm still on the fence with the PPQ 45. I had an XD-45 (13+1) that I still regret ever selling as it was excellent for me. Zero problems on it. I was stupid to sell it. Got an M&P 45 mid-size and I love that pistol. The only drawback I have on it is that it is 10+1. Otherwise, that 4 inch barrel 45 is a dream to shoot. The PPQ (or any 45 for that matter) has some pretty high standards to meet if I were to get one to go with that M&P. If I have an opportunity to rent a PPQ 45, I will. I've become a huge Walther fan, so I can't deny part of me is tempted.

    PPQ... It's simply an amazing gun, I see many die hard Glock fans ( I own a 17 and a 43) say "Glock is the best!" most likely have never held or fired a Walther. Best for what? Aftermarket parts? I will give you that.. most Glock owners I know invest more in upgrades than they paid for the gun! All guns have there pros and cons, I prefer my PPS M2 over my 43 HANDS DOWN! You will be hard pressed to find a better all around striker fired .45 than the PPQ..no it's not perfect but neither is Glock..looking at his grouping clearly the higher bore of axis was null and void.. and that is the BIGGEST pro the Glock has over the PPQ and as seen here means what?? tighter grouping you would think...don't knock it till you try it.

    Great video thanks guys! I recently rented a Glock 17 at the range, and once I learned the sights/trigger I shot it very well. But ergonomics compared to my XD Mod2 service model, left a lot to be desired; I feel like the Walther would be the same. So now I'm like do I go for comfort with more of a learning curve to control recoil, or go where recoil was well managed but it didn't feel quite as good in my hands, making long use problematic/uncomfortable? Decisions, decisions...

    • @altf2o

    • @BERETTA9mmUSA

      I think the added recoil, you can adjust to with the Walther PPQ and it's excellent grip. If you hate the Glock grip, all you can do is add a talon grip tape to it and that will make it a little better, but the grip is the grip. Just my take on these 2 pistols. Beretta Sr.
