It was just boss fight after boss fight and obligatory “oh no is Harry going to die this is so sad everyone is crying moment” which was done way better in the first game with aunt may.
This is a very well made video, especially how you ran it back to aunt may telling Pete about "balance" and showing all the loving momments everyone has with each and finishing it off with a Cherry on Top editing 👌
Insomniac actually already spoke about the reason the ending feels so rushed. They said it was because they did not have enough time to finalize the 3rd act they initially wanted to have, so probably if the game were delayed it could have been even better.
Do you think they might reboot Spiderman 2? so they can do everything they wanted to do but could not because everybody was losing their minds and Insomniac was being rushed??

I honestly think I feel the same way as you, even though Spider-Man 2 has its problems, it's still one of the best Spider-Man games, the love that insomniac feels for the character is really incredible and beautiful to look at and the game really is made by fan for fan, I'm very excited for the sequel!

Kraven to me has always been one of my favourite Spiderman villains for how wildly unique he was compared to the other villains who were super powered failed experiments, but Kraven was just a highly skilled hunter and apart from some potions he was all man and had no superpowers yet gave Spider-man a really hard time. Spiderman 2 PS5 gave us possibly the best take on the villain as he truly set a new bar for the character and made him both menacing and cunning with sheer strength and tactics becoming an absolute menace which I love to see. Jim Perri did an outstanding job as the character

I loved insomniac Spider-Man it’s really awesome and as a huge fan of Spider-Man and his supporting cast this game has given me everything I ever wanted which I approve at least in my opinion.
This game is my personal favourite game of the year. And yet, it isn’t perfect. It could have done with maybe three or four more hours of story, flesh out the black suit story and make Venom a deeper villain.
Marvel Spider-Man was a great game. The gameplay was good. The graphics were awesome. The story wasn’t as good as the first game, but it was a fun and amazing spectacular game and I’m tired of people hating on the game. That’s my opinion.

I’ve watched my fair share of anime and this was not the first thing that came to my mind. It was obvious they were gonna fight. Miles was the only one who could save Pete. The battle itself wasn’t bombastic. Never once did I feel like it was Goku vs Vegeta or anything. It actually felt like any scrap from the comics. Any time a hero had to fight another. That simple. I guess the eyes see what the heart wants…
I think we can all agree that Yuri Lowenthal got robbed for Best Performance. He gave his all in Spider-Man 2. I mean, I knew Baulders Gate 3 was gonna win. They really like their large open world games that takes over 100 hours to finish.

Holy crap I forgot about that Miles Morales Gamespot review. I'd heard about it from other youtubers, and when I went to check it out I was dying for 10 minutes.
Bro, did everyone forget Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions? That game was amazing and playing with each spider-man felt special. Sure it's not open-world but the story and everything was so well put together. I also enjoyed the Amazing SM games, it had some great details where Spider-man would use his own web to heal himself like what actual spiders do. I didn't see what special thing Insomniac did, but after playing the first game on my pc, that game felt so good.
It's amazing how Insomniac has made 2 Spiderman games and they're both positively recieved and now thanks to them we're getting more Marvel games. Hopefully the positive reception the game carries it over to future games. Pretty sure the Miles Morales game was developed by naughty dog and not Insomniac. Although feel like personally they should've waited for a future game or dlc expansion for the symbiote takeover to happen but feel like they were gonna do it similar to Mr Negative and Doc Ock one starts the game as the villain the first half then 2nd half the other one becomes the main villain. Don't know where I got Naughty Dog working on Miles Morales must've thought they worked on it while Insomniac worked on Rift Apart guess not or if they did help it was for smaller projects

I straight up balled my eyes out at the end of the Howard side mission. I was not expecting that ending. But it happened. Insomiac actually had the balls of killing off a fan favorite character. And they did it brilliantly. I had to pause my game, said "seriously" then sat there for about 10-15 minutes trying to collect my thoughts while tears streamed down my face lmao
I thought it was a good side mission (one of the only good ones in the game) but I didn’t cry. Only times games have made me have to pause to take in a heavy moment have been mafia 2 and red dead 2.

I always liked the MJ levels. It was good despite being simple. I especially loved it when they gave her a taser in the last few levels. Looks like they understood what we wanted. Audience: “I don’t like feeling weak.” Insomniac: “Give her a gun.”
I'm pretty sure the audience didn't say... I didn't like feeling weak. I think they didn't wanna play as MJ or Miles at all. While I agree the second game did her justice. The first game made me quit and uninstall the game 3 times in one MJ mission altogether. Idc if she was weak. I hated it.
@@TheTom20 i think some missions like those... The chase and the Bomb scene in SM1 was great. But everything else was just unnecessary. You can replace her with spiderman and allow him to get information and it wouldn't feel any different.
I think the story would've been miles better if it didn't jump immediately from Venom's introduction to symbiote invasion. It needed to build the suspense of what his plan was. Maybe we go through a few missions where we start to hear about people going missing in the middle of the night, have Peter locate and chase Venom through the city, have a small fight in the suburbs that then ends with Venom summoning all the people he's transformed so far, before then returning to what the main story does.
This game is perfect, but one thing infuriates me. You need full energy to heal. In the other games you could heal anytime. And this has cost me so many deaths istg
Spider-Man 2 was really good. Despite its flaws mainly Venom needing more screen time to develop, the rest of the game was incredible. Kraven was terrifying, Peter with the symbiote left many unforgivable moments in my head and the dynamics with the characters were great. Not to mention the game play and the incredible web swinging. (I could go on and on but you get my point)
Finally, a review with the nuance I needed to hear. Your sentiments on the story are the same as mine, as I feel the story (especially when Venom arrives) needed more time to breathe.

Well he kinda did. Miles was the one who separated Peter from the symbiote and Peter was ignoring miles to focus on harry. There is also the slight jealousy Harry feels that leads him to claim that Peter just replaced him with miles.

My only issue with Insomniac's 2nd Spidey game is how it turned into Web of Shadows once Venom hit the scene. I wanted to see a story that let Venom be his own thing, rather than one of many goo monsters
I genuinely enjoyed most of the story, even with the rushed pacing in certain places. I wasn’t expecting anything in particular; I was just hoping to enjoy myself with the story, and I got what I wanted. I really enjoyed Venom in this game. I just thought he was so intimidating and powerful that, despite the symbiote being destroyed at the end, I hope we can see more of him. Like I said, I wasn’t expecting anything in particular with the story, so I thoroughly enjoyed it. Could some things have been better/more fleshed out? Sure. But, for what we got, I’m pretty satisfied. Great video.
I would say for the spider man voice actor ( I forgot his name) he should have gotten an award for his voice acting and the next award for graphics as well

Excellently put. I love the game but it definitely needed to be like 5 hours longer. It's around the same runtime as the first game yet the pacing felt way more breakneck especially during the Venom arc. I hope with the rumored DLC they set up or flat out introduce Eddie Brock as a second Venom because it really felt like we didn't get enough of him.
The way I see it this game is good for what it is. It’s not game of the year worthy nor better than the first. But it is a safe sequel to a fantastic game. There are tons of RUclipsrs out there like Synthetic man and Griffin Gaming who call this game complete trash for certain decisions and imperfections but I ultimately don’t share their view. The game has problems, a story sometimes being rushed, several beloved suits missing from the roster, some game breaking glitches that as of this comment have mostly been fixed, arguably not enough additions to the gameplay, miles god awful new suit, and so on. Is there some suggestive writing that feels like it panders to some movement or another yes. But that’s not enough to completely bring a game down. It’s good to know I’m not alone as RUclipsrs like moistcritical who I trust to be unbiased and neutral have a similar view. Still I do wish this game didn’t have a lot of its content cut out.

The game's story is a mess because Insomniac themselves said that they wanted to do so much more but Sony rushed them. I wouldn't have minded if the game got delayed but since we have it now, I still love it

Despite how rushed the Venom arc seemed, the Kraven's Hunt arc more than made up for it, giving some of the best moments in the series.

Bro, did everyone forget Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions? That game was amazing and playing with each spider-man felt special. Sure it's not open-world but the story and everything was so well put together. I also enjoyed the Amazing SM games, it had some great details where Spider-man would use his own web to heal himself like what actual spiders do. I didn't see what special thing Insomniac did, but after playing the first game on my pc, that game felt so good.
It's amazing how Insomniac has made 2 Spiderman games and they're both positively recieved and now thanks to them we're getting more Marvel games. Hopefully the positive reception the game carries it over to future games. Pretty sure the Miles Morales game was developed by naughty dog and not Insomniac. Although feel like personally they should've waited for a future game or dlc expansion for the symbiote takeover to happen but feel like they were gonna do it similar to Mr Negative and Doc Ock one starts the game as the villain the first half then 2nd half the other one becomes the main villain. Don't know where I got Naughty Dog working on Miles Morales must've thought they worked on it while Insomniac worked on Rift Apart guess not or if they did help it was for smaller projects

I straight up balled my eyes out at the end of the Howard side mission.
I was not expecting that ending. But it happened.
Insomiac actually had the balls of killing off a fan favorite character. And they did it brilliantly.
I had to pause my game, said "seriously" then sat there for about 10-15 minutes trying to collect my thoughts while tears streamed down my face lmao
There is also this side mission I saw in someone's recorded stream where Spidey has to find someone's grandpa. Really touching.
I thought it was a good side mission (one of the only good ones in the game) but I didn’t cry. Only times games have made me have to pause to take in a heavy moment have been mafia 2 and red dead 2.

The developers argument of trying not to make Spider-Man overpowered, the hell are you talking about he’s freaking Spider-Man of course he’s overpowered that’s what makes him fun to play as. You know what isn’t fun? Getting ambushed by two Symbiote Brutes and getting two shot by nearly unavoidable attacks that you’d need the reaction time of the fucking Flash to effectively avoid
I always liked the MJ levels. It was good despite being simple. I especially loved it when they gave her a taser in the last few levels. Looks like they understood what we wanted.

But everything else was just unnecessary. You can replace her with spiderman and allow him to get information and it wouldn't feel any different.
I think the story would've been miles better if it didn't jump immediately from Venom's introduction to symbiote invasion. It needed to build the suspense of what his plan was. Maybe we go through a few missions where we start to hear about people going missing in the middle of the night, have Peter locate and chase Venom through the city, have a small fight in the suburbs that then ends with Venom summoning all the people he's transformed so far, before then returning to what the main story does.
This game is perfect, but one thing infuriates me. You need full energy to heal. In the other games you could heal anytime. And this has cost me so many deaths istg
I’d argue it being easier to fill the energy bar makes up for it but yeah I agree they shouldn’t have taken that out
Spider-Man 2 was really good. Despite its flaws mainly Venom needing more screen time to develop, the rest of the game was incredible. Kraven was terrifying, Peter with the symbiote left many unforgivable moments in my head and the dynamics with the characters were great. Not to mention the game play and the incredible web swinging. (I could go on and on but you get my point)
the grandpa earl and howard side missions are some of the most emotional experiences i’ve ever had. they’re beautiful side missions
So In the next year's or so I'm expecting a "was everyone wrong about madame web?" Video!
Finally, a review with the nuance I needed to hear. Your sentiments on the story are the same as mine, as I feel the story (especially when Venom arrives) needed more time to breathe.

Well he kinda did. Miles was the one who separated Peter from the symbiote and Peter was ignoring miles to focus on harry. There is also the slight jealousy Harry feels that leads him to claim that Peter just replaced him with miles.

My only issue with Insomniac's 2nd Spidey game is how it turned into Web of Shadows once Venom hit the scene. I wanted to see a story that let Venom be his own thing, rather than one of many goo monsters
The symbiote invasion fits Harry's motivation and it's a good homage to Web of Shadows but could have been longer

I genuinely enjoyed most of the story, even with the rushed pacing in certain places. I wasn’t expecting anything in particular; I was just hoping to enjoy myself with the story, and I got what I wanted. I really enjoyed Venom in this game. I just thought he was so intimidating and powerful that, despite the symbiote being destroyed at the end, I hope we can see more of him.
Like I said, I wasn’t expecting anything in particular with the story, so I thoroughly enjoyed it. Could some things have been better/more fleshed out? Sure. But, for what we got, I’m pretty satisfied.

Excellently put. I love the game but it definitely needed to be like 5 hours longer. It's around the same runtime as the first game yet the pacing felt way more breakneck especially during the Venom arc. I hope with the rumored DLC they set up or flat out introduce Eddie Brock as a second Venom because it really felt like we didn't get enough of him.

The way I see it this game is good for what it is. It’s not game of the year worthy nor better than the first. But it is a safe sequel to a fantastic game. There are tons of RUclipsrs out there like Synthetic man and Griffin Gaming who call this game complete trash for certain decisions and imperfections but I ultimately don’t share their view. The game has problems, a story sometimes being rushed, several beloved suits missing from the roster, some game breaking glitches that as of this comment have mostly been fixed, arguably not enough additions to the gameplay, miles god awful new suit, and so on. Is there some suggestive writing that feels like it panders to some movement or another yes. But that’s not enough to completely bring a game down. It’s good to know I’m not alone as RUclipsrs like moistcritical who I trust to be unbiased and neutral have a similar view. Still I do wish this game didn’t have a lot of its content cut out.

Not gonna lie the symbiote in this game made me feel like a freaking god. The tendtrill powers are so satisfying to use.
The story was a bit rushed but it had me way more invested than miles and the first game like I didn't do any side content all I wanted to do was get done with the story not because it was bad because I was so invested I have to know what was going to happen next when was Spider-Man gonna tell Harry to pop some pills and say what he really feels I don't really care that it was rushed because it was such a good an investing story that it made up for it
