Even tho I love MSM2 so much, The Infamous Second Son spray painting was much better, I had it on PS4 but now on PS5 I dont bother trying it anymore, MSM2 is faster and better imo
This is a great list. For me personally, the mysterio missions were kinda boring and the only real redeeming part of them was the final mission and the suit you get from it. I also appreciate the stance on the BV missions, as the amount of straight up wasted potential was sad.
I think the thing that carries Mysterio's missions is Mysterio. While it's otherwise just a generic wave-based arena with a few gimmicky objectives, the style and ongoing story about Quentin trying to turn over a new leaf (things like him refusing to use the Mysterio name or trying to rationalise collecting people's private data helped flesh him out in an interesting way) are what carried those missions for me.
I disagree with the Mysterio one. Thought the missions were generic and bland. The challenges in the first game were more memorable and a lot harder. The boss fight at the end was also brain dead easy. He never felt like a big bad villain at any point to me. It was just kinda there for me. Mediocre at best.
9:00 I predicted it during my first time and was so freaking sad when he suddenly hung up, i obviously feared the worst and i hate that i was right. 😢 Idk why they were cooking that good for some of those missions.
In Miles Morales I completely ignored the Prowler missions because that sound mechanic was just so annoying. At least here it was passable. One thing that I found rather dumb was the air vent with the lasers, because you find the stash at the end near an exit that's easily accessible and doesn't have any obstacles. I agree with most rankings but I have to say the Mysteriums were a little disappointing. I wished it had more variety other than just combat missions. I like the time trial traversal missions from the first game and missed those
My favorite part about the mission where Peter meet JJ is that the photo he gives him is the same picture that’s in the cover of the very first Spidey comic. I love Easter eggs like that
For the Haley mission, there was a missed opportunity to make some sort of actual “puzzle” where the player has to translate American Sign Language into English to solve. Example could be she runs into someone who’s learning ASL and they want to practice it so they sign three things and as the player (pulling a page from Uncharted) we pull out Haley’s notebook that shows a couple hand signs to decipher what they’re saying. Granted, this requires player dissonance since Haley would know her own language by heart and she wouldn’t need to carry a notebook. Notebook would be for the player. That said, some deaf don’t learn ASL from day one. Maybe she learned in recent years or she carries it for other people that care to communicate with her in her language. Couple of holes in this suggestion but i was just spitballing. Point is, puzzle element with her language. Insomniac seem to care a lot about inclusion. If they wanted to put us in her shoes, focus on how she communicates maybe???
@@TheSpectacularSpooderMon side missions often have puzzles. Puzzles come in many forms. Could be as simple as matching two or three hand signs to 2 or 3 words. Das it
I agree with the majority of your rankings, but I have to say, I really enjoyed collecting the Spider-Bots. Sure, they were just kind of a mass collectible, but I’m a huge fan of the Spider-Verse comic series. I loved looking at the different Spider-Bots, and trying to figure out which version they were before picking them up. The end scene was a pretty big letdown though. I’ve read almost all of the Spider-Verse comics, and I have no clue who the heck that lady was either.
@@Shahzadan Wait, really? They chose some random character that never even made into the movie to make a cameo in the game. Even if she had been put in the movie, it would have been so much better to see Miguel, or even Lyla. Also, thanks. I had no clue she even existed.
Just wish we had more side quests in which it wrapped up with a cool boss battle. Considering how lore rich the spiderverse is, just wished we had a few more is all...
It’s really frustrating how much this game starts side missions with Miles’ main missions. They didn’t think through Miles’ inclusion in the main story, to the point that they just started most sidequests off with him so they could pretend they knew what they were doing with him. Wish they gave him more involvement in the story, this game really needed more time in the oven to balance the Venom and Kraven storylines with two Spidey’s lives. On top of the half-baked Venom plotline. Still an incredible game gameplay wise but Miles and Venom deserved way better than the story gave.
I agree with a lot of these rankings, for the most part, and I will admit that I was at first blinded by the creative aspects of the Hailey mission when it came to how everything was muffled that I only saw it’s shortcomings later. I do agree that the Flame side missions were the best of them all, especially with how it set up Carnage. I wonder if the reason they had Peter keep the Anti-Venom Symbiote was for the express purpose of using it to beat Carnage in a later DLC or the next game. As for Delilah (I hope I’m spelling that right), she was actually supposed to be Across the Spider-Verse but was ultimately cut from the movie. I think she was suppose to run some sort of multidimensional bar or something where she was like a shoulder for Spot to cry on and encourage him to be the Villain he ends up becoming, but I could be wrong.
A quest-line I think could be cool would be one that introduces Hobie Brown’s Prowler. A new Prowler shows up and Miles (or Peter) has to figure out who they are as they commit heists.
A bit random, but I really appreciated you going through them alphabetically instead of by ranking, it made it impossible to tell what your take would be before you even said it, and I love that. When rank videos go by rank the second they say whats next you already know their opinion, especially when youre down to the last one and you can already narrow it down. Its not huge, but I just prefer this style.
this dude is like an art critic for video games. the emojis during the Hailey side mission dont have an ulterior motive of talking down to the player, its just an artistic choice for the character who is literally an artist that has to text to communicate
I don't think there's a sinister ulterior motive, it's a criticism of their decision. If it was legitimately art and not cheap, child-like emojis I would feel much differently
10:41 This is what happens though. Atleast for some of them, when you complete it with stealth only the second wave doesnt come out. Maybe they patched this because I'e been playing it recently so I dont know
I like how the sandman minions are really weak to water. In 1 sandman encounter, there's a big fountain and it's so much fun to beat that one by yanking the minions into the fountain one by one.
I wish I could agree with you on the Sandman missions. I want to love them. But the repetition, anticlimactic final mission and lack of closure of the conclusion bring it down for me. I think the final mission should have been something more than just fighting waves of the same goon you've been fighting and the conclusion afterward given Marko justice for what was done to him. You just placing the crystal statue on his ex's doorstep without explaining shit to his daughter doesn't do it for me. I wanted to see more of Marko physically in the game and we only got a first appearance from him and a phone call. He deserved so much better.
Also, I think Delila from the spiderbot mission may be this universe’s Lyla, the one from the movie. The names are very similar. Maybe Lyla is short for Delila?
In hindsight, I really appreciate the risk they took with Graffiti Trouble and how you literally felt the world around you with the haptics, but it was definitely flawed in the gameplay department and could’ve been fleshed out better. Thank you for being one of the very few to actually critique it without crying “woke” or anything like that.

Miles immediately thinking uncle aaron was stealing from them was so dumb, he thought a world class thief would steal a record player and use it right above them?
True, but Spider-Man 3 also had the narrative weight of introducing Sandman as a villain, then adding that he's in fact the man who killed Uncle Ben while sidelining his storyline for Harry and Venom. Plus a movie is two hours so I don't really think it's a fair one-to-one comparison
The depiction of Cletus Cassidy was up there with Kraven and Venom for me. The gameplay also has dual-team capabilities that I forgot to mention which gives it a little extra oomph. It's my favorite of the game and the most like the Arkham series villain-centric side missions which are pretty much the gold standard as far as I'm concerned
I don’t blame Miles for being on Aaron, Aaron is partly responsible for Phins death after he lied to his face saying he was gonna help Miles. Even though he didn’t mean it, he could have also had Roxxon nearly kill him. Then the mf kidnaps Miles and locks him up after all that he’s done. I think Miles’s mistrust in Aaron is warranted
In the blinds, I only did a full stealth run once (another attempt I lost because my final web strike takedown got bugged ON THE BIRD DRONE) but there was no second wave. Maybe it was just that blind being unique, but I'd assume stealth does lead to no reinforcements
I don’t think the whole jazz history thing deserved to be in healing the world over grandpa mission. If the grandpa mission moved ppl to tears that says something
I liked the actual finding and collecting of the Spider-Bots, but the ending didn’t land for me. I spent up to, like, the last 5 or so bots guessing which comic character/group would have made and dispersed all of them, then got really deflated when it all clicked. I’m just honestly so tired of multiverse-this, multiverse-that these days, and this mission suffered for me because of it. I love the Spider-Verse films, and will probably go see Beyond, but the effect they’ve had on media-especially outside of Spider-Man-has been exhausting.
I liked the music museum mission but I knew who would be the bad guy from the start because there was only one white guy in the whole mission and I knew they wouldn’t make a black character a villain. Darren was fun but way too obvious.😅
My man said the prom date didn’t need miles attention like he didn’t have to fix the generators in the school and like there wasn’t a selfie mission in mm
Also miles reaction to the prowler end mission isn’t as out of character as you’d think. I mean he already had trust issues after the whole Roxxon sellout thing and he would absolutely be apprehensive about something like that being revealed to him.
I reeeallly like the robot dog mission more than it deserves idk there’s just something about this lady being blind AND allergic to dogs so they can’t get a guide just being such a Spider-Man universe level fuck you from god degree of bad luck and I loved seeing her get such an outlandish solution to her problem in a way that makes perfect sense given the logic of the game world; gankes done more ex machina things then reprogram a robot dog with RUclips videos

Even tho I love MSM2 so much, The Infamous Second Son spray painting was much better, I had it on PS4 but now on PS5 I dont bother trying it anymore, MSM2 is faster and better imo
You can get it on ps5
I know, but I dont want it for now@@Ethan-dt6fc
Just re-watching the Howard clip made me tear up. That shit messed me up the first time I played it and apparently, I’m still not over it.
Nah those missions were peaked
I disagree with the Mysterio one. Thought the missions were generic and bland. The challenges in the first game were more memorable and a lot harder. The boss fight at the end was also brain dead easy. He never felt like a big bad villain at any point to me. It was just kinda there for me. Mediocre at best.
I'm glad that your criticism of the homecoming mission wasnt just "gay = bad."
Side missions were a lot better compared to the 2018 game.
Hel no enemy bases where lacking and combat challenges for Peter where removed 2018 was better

9:00 I predicted it during my first time and was so freaking sad when he suddenly hung up, i obviously feared the worst and i hate that i was right. 😢 Idk why they were cooking that good for some of those missions.
The grandpa mission was definitely S
The fireworks mission kinda got me in a very cheap way. My brother passed away in august of 2020, we share the same birthday too.
I did the EMF final mission after Harry’s “death” and it hit so hard bro 😭
I love Easter eggs like that
I did howards mission last and got the platnium. Never thought i would get emotional over it.
The spider-verse mission here was built off a deleted scene. It really hurts cause of it but it is what it is
For the Haley mission, there was a missed opportunity to make some sort of actual “puzzle” where the player has to translate American Sign Language into English to solve.
That feels unnecessary. It’s a side mission we aren’t trying to learn ASL. Sure it’d be inclusive but it’d add nothing to… anything.
The lady is called Delilah and she’s in a deleted scene where the spot enters a villain bar and beats everyone up
@@Shahzadan Wait, really? They chose some random character that never even made into the movie to make a cameo in the game. Even if she had been put in the movie, it would have been so much better to see Miguel, or even Lyla. Also, thanks. I had no clue she even existed.
The twist at the end of the flame really shocked me and puts it at the top of my list
Nah I'm sorry, the one with the drone girl was far worse than the homecoming one. That mission was one of the only ones that actively annoyed me
I definitely agree
The Howard mission made me more emotional than the main story lol😂
A bit random, but I really appreciated you going through them alphabetically instead of by ranking, it made it impossible to tell what your take would be before you even said it, and I love that. When rank videos go by rank the second they say whats next you already know their opinion, especially when youre down to the last one and you can already narrow it down. Its not huge, but I just prefer this style.
21:36 Delilah is a bar tender from a deleted scene from across the spider verse
It's confirmed - Cletus Cassidy is healing the world
2:56 where did those pigeons comed from?
I absolutely love the sandman missions in this game, definitely one of my favorite parts of the game as a whole
Fantastic video and I would 100 percent be down to watch you rank bosses, Main missions, suits or collectibles for sure
the fnsm “monster in queens” side mission is my favorite
I did the Howard mission during night time, makes it all the more sad. RIP Howard, the pigeon whisperer
this dude is like an art critic for video games. the emojis during the Hailey side mission dont have an ulterior motive of talking down to the player, its just an artistic choice for the character who is literally an artist that has to text to communicate
I don't think there's a sinister ulterior motive, it's a criticism of their decision. If it was legitimately art and not cheap, child-like emojis I would feel much differently
You weren’t supposed to know who deliah is
10:41 This is what happens though.
Atleast for some of them, when you complete it with stealth only the second wave doesnt come out. Maybe they patched this because I'e been playing it recently so I dont know
Howards mission had me in tears. I also added the song that played
I like how the sandman minions are really weak to water. In 1 sandman encounter, there's a big fountain and it's so much fun to beat that one by yanking the minions into the fountain one by one.
For the hunter bases the two waves don't spawn if you do stealth.
Anything with Miles school i could of done without. Most of the time, I was like "God can't you guy figure this out yourselves."
Imagine when rio and miles were salasing, it transitioned to Rio and Jefferson dancing when they were young😢
20:43 I hated those dorks too!!!
Miles: **yawns** Good morning my dear city! **checks phone**
Anonymous: Looking good this red suit!
Ganke: Come to the place!
Hailey: **voicemail**
Rio: Call me back!!!
Miles: Hm. Aight.
At his house
Miles: Hey Mrs. Watanabe! How's it going?
Wraith: Kid you still don't know right?
Miles: **sighs deeply**
Hailey: (Miles. Um. What you remember yesterday?)
Miles: I just cured out Norman, got home and got to bed.
Hailey: (Oh Miles. You're not being you.)
Hailey: (The suit is changing you.)
Miles: And the suit is the reason that you're not crying in my grave!
Wraith: Yeah that's real great huh?
Miles: Why don't ya get more wine 'til you fall in the floor!
Hailey: (Hey! Don't.)
Miles: I'm busting the SH*T out of it trying to save you and *THIS* is my reward?!
Hailey: (I said "don't!")
Miles: What does your commission was about?!
Hailey: (I tried to talk about tha-)
Miles: Yeah but didn't huh?
Hailey: (I can't lose the degree Miles!)
Miles: Your degree is to draw the truth!
Hailey: (And I did wrote the) AH!
Miles: **slaps Hailey** THE TRUTH IS THAT *I'M* THE HERO OF THIS CR4P AND I DON'T NEED YOUR HELP!!
Hailey: **pants in fear**
Miles immediately thinking uncle aaron was stealing from them was so dumb, he thought a world class thief would steal a record player and use it right above them?
Bro called the mission with the gay people weird 💀
I feel like you ranked all of these fairly and i agree with most of them.
Bro was harsh and i love it
13:26 This game did a sympathetic Sandman better than the 3rd Sam Raimi film.
Spider-Man three is a childhood favorite that's a good movie. I don't care what anybody says.
I was severely convinced you would rank The Flame stuff in Rock Solid. Remind me what it was that made it Healing the World.
I was kinda excited for the homecoming mission thinking it’d be about Miles and Hailey and then it was about two other people
I don’t blame Miles for being on Aaron, Aaron is partly responsible for Phins death after he lied to his face saying he was gonna help Miles. Even though he didn’t mean it, he could have also had Roxxon nearly kill him. Then the mf kidnaps Miles and locks him up after all that he’s done. I think Miles’s mistrust in Aaron is warranted
I just plat the game two days ago also that suit that he is wearing in the start of the video for miles love the cat slaps when doing a finisher moves
Some really good takes
In the blinds, I only did a full stealth run once (another attempt I lost because my final web strike takedown got bugged ON THE BIRD DRONE) but there was no second wave. Maybe it was just that blind being unique, but I'd assume stealth does lead to no reinforcements
I don’t think the whole jazz history thing deserved to be in healing the world over grandpa mission. If the grandpa mission moved ppl to tears that says something
Howard mission was the best in the game, definitely, RIP howard
I believe Delilah was a cut character that was supposed to be in beyond the spiderverse but got cut
Watching the intro, I’m shocked they still haven’t fixed Miles X animation when going up a building.
Really good ranking wouldn’t change a thing.
Mysterio was the villain I was the most excited for!
delilah was a cut character from across the spiderverse
Also miles reaction to the prowler end mission isn’t as out of character as you’d think. I mean he already had trust issues after the whole Roxxon sellout thing and he would absolutely be apprehensive about something like that being revealed to him.
I like every side mission you can play as Peter because miles is BLA-
I reeeallly like the robot dog mission more than it deserves idk there’s just something about this lady being blind AND allergic to dogs so they can’t get a guide just being such a Spider-Man universe level fuck you from god degree of bad luck and I loved seeing her get such an outlandish solution to her problem in a way that makes perfect sense given the logic of the game world; gankes done more ex machina things then reprogram a robot dog with RUclips videos
how did you use both the anti venom and the black symbiote during that yuri fight??
I wish this game was longer, even if it would've delayed the game.
If it was delayed we would've gotten all dlc stories by now and the game would have so much depth.
