    Staying the night in Cranbrook BC Canada i came across massive no parking at walmart signs, i thought it was funny to see SO MANY no parking signs in one area. Van dwellers are not blind you know hahaha. #vanlife

    For the people complaining about him saying Home Depot...well everyone makes mistakes , just get over it. The video was so much more important than the mistake. You all knew exactly what he meant. That is the problem in the world....people are focusing on the distraction vs the the big picture.

      Andrew Martinez yes and I am sure that Teddy would not be happy with the critics that rush to attack Chrome for just saying home Depot. His videos help those of us that are searching for a happy life understand that it is not always found by living like everybody else. I would think that Teddy would look at the context of the video and see that no harm was intentional nor was any harm done...a human man living on earth without mistakes is a human man living a lie...Saucy Chica💖

      You all misunderstood..... He mean to say the "Canadian" Home depot as in canadas version of home depot. The mistake was when he mention home depot when talking abt the latches... Is that the part you were refering to?

    I love that you are so positive. My husband and I bought an rv in 2005 and were going to rent out our home and take off with our 2 dogs. We thought it was something no one else ever thought of. In 2006 my husband became disabled and I couldn't see how to carry all that was needed and that we needed to be close to hospitals. So I got rid of the rv and keep it in the back of my mind. My husband has been hospitalized since Dec 8 2017 and i started looking into things just out of boredom. Aside from a few really informative channels, I like your positive outlook. I've seen a lot of negative crap while checking out things over the years and I may do a cargo trailer conversion with my husband as a traveling vacation home or park it down the shore in jersey, just waiting for him to get better. I never stopped dreaming of traveling the country and Canada, and will keep watching your positive channel, and maybe someday we will meet you.

    We use mosquito netting and magnets it's super simple I hope you get it it's cheap and quick to put on.

    That's awesome I've worked at Home Hardware where I live for almost a decade now. You still have a home, yours just happens to be wheels. I'm seriously thinking about embarking on a road trip to BC in a van from Saskatchewan this summer. Your videos inspire me.

    Home Hardware, one of the few hardware stores still selling steel snow shovels instead of plastic or aluminium. To those who don't know, Home Hardware is not Home Depot, Home Hardware is a Canadian company that has it's stores in smaller more rural towns. You usually have to drive about an hour out of the city to find one.

    To get rid of the bugs and mos get some Dr. Bronners peppermint liquid soap, put 4 tbps in a spray bottle and fill with water. Spray your van walls and around the outside and no more bugs. Can use minty mouth wash too. IT WORKS!!

    New to your channel, I began following three weeks ago, I truly enjoy your videography... And yes, I have day dreamed since childhood, of owning my own personal train caboose, as a residence. Anywho, I wanted to let you know, great job on your channel, and to combat mosquitoes and other insects naturally, purchase an oil diffuser, using essential oils such as peppermint or lemon balm, will aid in keeping insects at bay.     "Cat", here! One great thing about doing the interior ambo conversion electrical system as a "110v only (no 12v) power pack system" is you can have things like a 110v small microwave and/or hot air frier, coffee maker, etc., etc., etc.? Don't need no stinkin' generator either..........unless you want one (make it a small propane genverter)! But, forget those electronic glass top convection thingys...........gas is the only way to go for stove top cooking? And, thanks "Cr", for all you do.........makes our days a bit brighter!

    You could do the middle drawer latch from the top down. If you buy some black net curtain 'voile' and some magents, you could make mosquito netting for all the entrances of your van,its much cheaper than trying to find ready mades. When you clean your pans, rub some salt around inside with kitchen paper and a little drop of cooking oil ,it will find all the little bits that you thought you got off when you washed it and help stuff not stick as much the next time. Loved that Red train car :)

    Hey, bro, for the top drawers of your dresser, turn your latches 90° and instead of the latch on the drawer, put the latch on the dresser so the bolt will drop down in front of the three top drawers in to the bolt loop which you attach to the drawers rather than the dresser itself.
    Mmm, mushrooms.... yummy!

    That wasn't a Walmart exclusive property and most likely Walmart leased their store space from a property management group who leases out to all the stores. Walmart's that own their own property generally aren't reluctant to allow overnight parking unless there is a local ordinance against overnight parking within city/town limits. When Walmart leases their property they don't have any say as to parking.

    you need a battery operated fan, maybe a couple to chase away the mosquitos...The extended drawers to support a counter top is cool, I just saw a RV'r named Tikki who purchased a precut 3/4" piece of plywood and was painting a food friendly finish on it to use just as you could do - measure the safest length of extending the drawers to support a counter top and you too could have a very efficient use of space ! The 'Peter Pine Daze'..is cool, those are places you just gotta peak into...Yes, I too can imagine living in a caboose just as someone apparently considered that one as a home. Thanks for sharing.

    I hear Wally Mart is getting funky in the US too. You have to call in advance or go online. Still bingeing. Joined patreon yesterday. Woo hoo! I’m officially a Weirdo! I make a spray out of witch hazel and citronella for my puppy. I use it first to make sure it’s not too strong. Helps to keep the bugs off of him. Get a diffuser for ten bucks. So many good essential oils to keep the bugs at bay.That setup with the 3 draws and your desk top would be perfect when you have someone over for dinner. Just need a little collapsible chair.

    Hey Chrome, when you cross the border into the US in Montana there is the Izaak Walton Inn near Glacier National Park, you can spend the night in restored cabooses.

    I love the East Kootenays, actually anywhere in the Kootenays but then I'm a Nelson 'Walley' Girl! A lot of smaller towns want to have tourists stop for the night because there is a chance they will leave some money behind. Up where I am you can park almost anywhere.
    I have made myself a 'big shirt'. It's a huge shirt that I've saturated in repellents. I can carry it around with me and not have to spray myself down.
    I think Yack is where an elephant escaped from a circus train.

    Wow, I am taken aback by that Wal-Mart sign. Most RVer's shop at Wal-Mart. They even have an RV section for corn sake. I wonder if Target or K-Mart wants our business. BTW, I just got back from Home Depot. I bought an outdoor carpet and some kitchen supplies. I am building out my van so I scoped out some cabinets and flooring there too. :) My builder is purchasing 1/4" sanded finished Birch plywood for the walls and 1/4" tongue and grove for the ceiling.... ALL OF IT IS HOME DEPOT! Love that store!!! Thanks Home Depot for letting RVer's park there. Sometimes, we just need 6 hours of counting sheep before we can get up and move on. No doubt most RVer's are gone by 8:00 am unless they need more goodies from Home Depot. :) Oh, I just read that it was Home Hardware ... well, I'm in Southern CA so I take my shopping at H.D. Good on you Home Hardware!!

    The best part of making your own meals is that U know what's in them. There is SO much sodium in everything, along with extra fats no one needs. The more U cook, the better U will get. Nice seeing all your growth💪

    We use say that we've been to Yack and back. Ha ha. That area was big for gold and silver back in the day. The access to water transportation made moving people and materials easier.

    Great video Chrome! For the Skeeters, burn some dry tea leaves or incense. Get yourself a 8" cast iron skillet, and a small spray bottle. Fill the bottle with half vinegar and half water. Use a paper towel and vinegar spray to wipe out your pan and wipe down your other dishes. Works like a charm, and it's cheap, plus the vinegar kills germs. You can also use that spray for cleaning your windows. Have fun Bro!

    Some Walmarts signage says no overnight parking ( at least here in the USA), but when you ask the manager if it's ok they say it is for a day or two; just don't abuse it. So it just depends on the local situation. Home Depot is definitely a traveler's friend, though. :)

    Hi Chrome! Get some peppermint oil, lavender oil, or tea tree oil. Put a few drops in water in spray bottle and spray around van and on yourself. Check to see if it's safe around pets. Also put basil in a nylon stocking (knee-hi stockings from local drug store) and hang around van. Peppermint and basil plants are good too.

    Wow, I remember camping there at Yahk 50 years ago, as we were passing through! My brother and I couldn't believe there was just a tiny general store there. The owners daughter was blind and went to the Jericho School for the Blind, down by Spanish Banks / Jericho Beach in Vancouver where you and Disco hang out, Chrome! Small world.... :)

    You showed the signs at Walmart, with those campers very obviously parked in the lot! They don’t tow you away. I stayed in my high roof van for five weekends straight in a Walmart lot with signs. We were left alone, but they kicked out a couple who put Reflectix in all their car windows. Appearance is everything!

    For mosquitos I have used the citronella type tea lights, cheap easy, works like a charm. Close all doors and windows except one, leave a crack open for them to escape, light the candles and 'fumigate' the van.

    Great video Chrome. Love the abandoned buildings....interesting contents . If you ever get to Nova Scotia, stop in a town called Tatamagouch, it has the old train station turned into a museum , with cabooses like those turned into motel type rooms , and a dining car that is a restaurant. You'll love it. Nice clip of ordering your Tims, getting the double double....nectar of the Gods , I replied to one of the posters on this video who asked what a double double was. It is a CDN thing to order our coffee that way. When I order my large double double.. I call it, getting my "Timunization" !

    Ok, so just watched your other vid about your morning coffee creamer...try the powdered creamers and you'll get a lot more in less space, also, try a spray bottle of avocado oil for non stick, bottle is small and a little goes a really long way! (costco has it, if you have that.) I have fun watching your vids and scenery is amazing, thanks!

    Get some skin so soft from Avon and just spray a little in your Van if you can stand the smell of it .They'll leave you alone. Also your cooking looked great and healthy! I really can't wait to check the antique store out so cool. Love the train!

    Chrome , have you tried SPAGHETTI yet, ...it’s an EZ meal to prepare.
    FRY hamburg, plus onions, mushrooms, etc, ADD a JAR of fav sauce,
    & COOK noodles. Need fry pan & a pot for noodles ...
    ..Ooops, a cheap strainer to drain noodles comes in handy ! Yackety Yak .

    I've had a couple Walmarts (Ottawa-area) where you couldn't park overnight, but those were both smaller Walmarts in a strip mall. I talked to the manager and it's because they don't own the lot there, it's basically rented, which makes sense, so there's usually private security. It looks the same in your video, lots of stores. I stay away from those Walmarts. I Google street view lots to see what's there before I head out, always opting for standalone WMs.

      Alot of that has to do with Walmart's typically not investing in private security guards relying on local police instead and of course the founder of Walmart having died hence the franchise holders are feeling more emboldened.

    Hooray for Home Depot it's nice ti know they appreciate their RVing customers. Chrome you are always thinking of ways to make your home more versatile.     Yes when Walmart is in a outdoor mall area they do not allow overnight parking for some reason, but I did not not know about Home Depot.
    I am going to look at Canadian tire for magnetic mosquito nets to put on my van.

      The Walmart in Charlottetown, PEI will not allow overnight parking. Another van dweller asked permission. Because Walmart is only part of a large mall,the parking lot does not belong to Walmart. The owner of the parking lot prohibits it. Walmart has no say.

    Ya need to get one of the small Dynatraps-they really work. Check out amazon for portable mosquito repellers like Thermacell (for camping), especially the ratings. I also personally use an electric bug zapper with handle (looks a lot like a tennis racquet-I think Walmart has them; also on amazon.).

    Home hardware sells great telescopic fly swats you know. I have two, take one in my tent or backpack. One in my car, because I always gets mosquitos or wasps in my car.
