Those repairs are like having to replace a stove, refrigerator, furnace etc etc. This repair is cheaper than replacing those items in a house. Repairing things in a home is was more expensive. Glad your home is safer now and I am truly enjoying your videos. And Cruze is just to stinkin cute.

I totally agree with what you say on maintenance. I moved into my van here in the UK about 3 months ago. Unfortunately it had been neglected the last couple of years of its life before I had owned it, so the lat year or so just been working my way through a list of jobs. My biggest expense so far has been a replacement turbo, something I had been putting off for a while. That cost me £540, but, still way cheaper than what I was paying on rent a few months earlier!

Taking care of your rolling home is security .i had to hoof it to a place to get brake parts fix my '73 Mercury montego which was my home for a time when I was young....hearing the rain on the roof was very calming to me as a lay with my blanket...less is more sometimes.
Also in that checklist one should expect to replace parts of the exhaust system including the muffler especially parts of Canada or the US that have salt on the roads in the winter. Thanks Chrome for sharing another day with us.
Just an fyi Chrome We do a transmission flush/change radiator flush and of course oil changes. Our 2500 truck is at 250000 Miles!! Maintenance maintenance maintenance pays for those miles.

They are drum rotors in the back. The pads are completely hidden. Plus not very easy to take the drums off on older vehicles usually need a couple of bolts to break the rust welds
I've driven the Al-Can (The Great Alaska/Canadian Highway) a couple times. Be careful Chrome, if you go the distance, the last 100 miles (160 Kilometers) is not well kept and is pretty rough. I did 20-40 (30-60 Kph) Mph in a loaded U-haul (towing a car) that last stretch. Oh, and get a couple big fuel cans for extra fuel. Fuel stops are far between the last half of it. And there is a famous restaurant where people leave hats along the way. 100s of hats there. I'll add the name when I get home. (Update, Toad River Lodge, mile 422, Road River, BC)

Jose Dude oh trust me yes it does. I had a GMC and a dodge and they ate brakes like they were nothing. It also depends what kind of brakes you use. The better the quality the longer they last. Been a mechanics for many years. I know what I am talking about. Have a great day

Having a cushion is so important. But then you have a breakdown and it’s gone. I am the second owner of my current vehicle and the first owner only had to change the oil and tires. In the 3 years I’ve had it I have changed almost every major part including tires, battery, brakes, rotors, catalytic converter, gas tank, computer, radiator, major hoses and on and on. My first lemon out of maybe ten vehicles in my life. Ugh and major electrical stuff.
I’m in Vancouver during the winters and it’s quite often people play beach volleyball on Christmas day. So doing this van repair would be no big deal in the winter out there hahaha

Man, when a dog doesn't want to move, they get stiff as a board. My German Shepherd can be very hard to move when she doesn't want to move....very stubborn!
Usually you will replace 2 sets of front pads to 1 set of rear brakes. And ya if you cod have done that yourself, you could have done it for 1/4 the price. And brakes are not that hard. I bet you could have done it. But i no what you mean Sometimes it's just easier to let someone else do it.

Dave Welby I have been involved with service dogs, who also go everywhere with their human. We would encourage giving SELECT people food to your pup. That way their belly gets used to different things, so when they are out and about and pick up something from the ground, they will be less likely to have an adverse reaction. It works.

Most rivers and streams in b.c have some gold in them. A lot of areas are claimed. You have to be careful were you do pan. So your not claimjumping.
