Just imagine if the truckhouse was an airstream or Winnebago Revel…. $10-20k worth of damage. The truckhouse… one hour of labor and $20 at Lowe’s. I freakin love it!! Go Timmy.

I would have gladly let a customer borrow a ladder and what a missed opportunity for Lowes. I really appreciate how you treat others who stop by to chat! Great attitude and creativity.
Because people steal them then sell them. Happened all the time when my Uncle used to work at Lowes (10 years as the head of the shipping department before they laid them all off one day with no notice. Thanks Lowes!)
@noahbruce6142 Have them to leave their driver license and let them use it. That way you know they will bring the ladder back.
Legal liability as well. Statistically, ladders are dangerous. If Lowes/Home Depot lent out ladders then it introduces a legal risk.
Could have bought the ladder and then return it
Often times its insurance regulations that drive those decisions

i guess that's why a wood cabin camper beats a fiberglass shell or aluminum camper.. you can do repairs with commonly available materials on the road.. if you have the skills of course. too bad people don't stop .. it's possible if they were a big vehicle with a trailer they didn't even realize they hit you. glad it was a relatively quick repair. stay safe!

We are currently remodeling our home and adding a garage. I was going to order all the windows and doors, tile, flooring from Lowe’s, this lack of customer service convinced me to go elsewhere. This is the problem with these large chains, they have no customer service. I’m old enough to remember all the locally owned businesses that cared about their customers and their communities. Thank you Lowe’s for opening my eyes just in time!
I don’t think it is about customer service but more like a liability issue, if he fell off the ladder.

My Ford Escape was a victim of a hit and run 4 months ago. The guy ran away on foot leaving his girlfriend. Long story short, the guy had just got out of prison, and was drinking. He left his phone by the river hoping everyone would think he had offed himself and stop looking for him. Sheriffs office found him last week. Bravo! Blessings from Oregon USA 🇺🇸

It seems that nowadays we have the people who help and the ones who ignore it! I'd say a store would definitely have a ladder, but the lack of interest in other people's well-being makes situations like that. Keep up your amazing work, Timmy!

My guy was parked in the lane of traffic and got swiped… it happens… given the hight he probably got hit by a box truck who had no idea it even happened…

Talked to the police and they didn't catch it on the traffic cams.

Timmy hated that someone was not gracious enough to own up to the accident with your camper. You handled that well. That pack raft seemed to ride higher and dryer than your hard shell kayak. It handled e erything nicely. It did look fast. Great little paddle. 👍👍👍

Shame on Lowes for not helping out by not letting you use a ladder. They just lost 2 more people to shop there and hopefully more. I am glad you put this video out there. I love it - brings me back to my early days of driving @ 1988 when we’d all buy the “coolest” jalopy we could afford, then save up to replace the factory radio with whatever cassette player & rear deck speakers the local K-Mart had in stock.
Craig, Kraco were the most affordable, but if we had enough cash saved up, Pioneer, Sony or Kenwood were an instant cool upgrade!!
Cranking AC/DC & the Scorpions before school or after football practice in the High School parking lot in my SWEET ‘81 Plymouth Reliant K, then ‘84 Ford Escort 4speed manual made me feel about as cool as Jeff Spicoli from Fast Times @ Ridgemont High!!
Thank God I’ve grown up but would not trade those memories for anything in the world!

I agree if you damage something fess up! I had a fender bender in a parking lot this summer and had an amazing experience! I left a note and as I was walking away the owner or maybe his wife appeared and when I told her she was so shocked that I left my number she gave me a hug!😂😮

You were literally in my back yard when you went down the Deschutes. It really sucks that some
lowlife hit your camper and didn't even attempt to make contact with you.
Unfortunately Bend has changed and not for the better. Back in the day if someone did that,
they would have tried to find you or at least left a note with their info on it.
Now Bend is full of Liberal, It's all about me people that migrated here from So Cal and other areas.
It really started going downhill in the early 80's when the Californians started flooding Bend,
and it has continued to get worse. Bend used to be an awesome little town. The people here
were blue collar and most worked in the lumber mills. Sadly those days are gone forever...
Same here in Washington. The tech boom radically changed the voting pattern and overall attitude and feel of the place. It's a damn shame... 😢

What made you decide to do this? Is it because you're not married with no kids? Nope my wife is inside right now and our 3 children are somewhere around this parking lot.
Need to carry one of those collapsable extension ladders. They are so useful and excellent space savers. No chance you were getting a ladder. Liability if you fell or got hurt on Lowes property.

Bend is famously beautiful, the Deshutes, Mt Bachelor skiing, volcanic sites, and the awesome, High Desert Museum. I used to go Spring skiing to Mt Bachelor back in the 80's from Seattle when it was a small quaint town.....such great memories.....before Bend grew immensely I to a retirement mecca. Again, you show great patience and kindness when I know it can't be too easy....youre a good man.
I'm Kathy a full-time rver, currently on my way to Arizona for winter.... Im not a down and outter as people often think full- timers are its my retirement life style of choice...I do this because I love the wilderness and the gentle way of life. Surely some folks are broken by "life choices", etc. and it's always hard to see them barely getting by...kinda heart breaking. I pray for them....because, "But by the grace of God, there go I"

Just an idea: get an aluminum work platform. The fold up and don't take much room and like a 101 uses. Use it to stand on or a seat or a small table. I carry on for my mobile detailing and find I could not be without it. It has replaced multiple items that I used to cary.

My father told me when I was very young , if you damage something, own up to it. It shameful that adults will not own up to doing things. I guess I was brought up a different way. He'll I would have waited on you and went and got the stuff to fix it and repaired it myself. If you ever get down Texas I'd love to meet you.

I had someone open their truck door into my car, With me in the car!!! They still denied hitting it!!! I got out and their door was currently touching my car, I was thinking how did you not hit if it's still touching!!!! No real damage, but just own up to your mistakes people!!!!
I had some body do that to me I was parked in the middle of nowhere so I don't have people hit my truck and people still park right next to me and just fling the door open and not hold it or catch it from hitting my front or rear door
I have had people do that to me in the middle of nowhere. I check my doors every time getting out to see if there’s previous damage. I have left my calling card in the size of a foot print and the side of their door.
😮Sitting in Wally world parking lot, in my car, when an elderly couple parked beside me, the lady, 80ish, pushed her door so hard, it literally rocked my car. A 1988, 4 door, not a light car. Respect for the elderly, I never said anything but when she shut her door to talk to her husband and opened even harder the next time, I had to warn her that everyone did not have a temperament to have their car slammed, not once but twice and she needed to be more careful. There's mean people in the world and that could have been bad for this couple.
The same happened to me yrs ago in my 71 el camino all restored. I waited for them to go inside & donkey kicked they door in . This is the only way to get thru to these inconciderate low lif scum humans . 90 % of the people i have delt with in 54 yrs have taken advantage or screwed me over .
