I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was young and man it really can be a super power and downfall. I find that it can make us (not all) good teachers! Once we find a topic we love (like hoof trimming) we can talk about it all day and dont get tired of explaining the process. I used to be a dog trainer and always got comments on how well I explained things for my students. Which was very nice to hear.

Yes, hard to live with. I have ADHD and my hubby has a very hard time with dealing with it. He just doesn't understand that I can't help being this way. I do know that I have problems and can be difficult at times but it's not my fault. I was born this way, in an era when it was an "unknown".
I don’t live near cows, never been to Scotland, have no idea about cows feet, but I am 100% addicted to this channel and have been for months!!!! Amazing job as usual!!
I moved to a rural area four years ago, and the route where I walk my dog's has a few small cow farms. Now I find myself watching them while they graze to see if anyone's limping.
I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was 8. My parents didn’t want me to be medicated, and the Dr. had my parents give me a cup of coffee before school in the morning and another caffeinated beverage after school. That helped greatly. Now at 45 I have good and bad days with ADHD. Routine is also key to controlling the good days. I find my days that aren’t planned out are the bad days, starting multiple projects throughout the day and eventually getting many of them completed. Although some projects get the long term completion time. The messes and hating them is absolutely spot on, along with the large groups. I love going out and doing things but hate crowds.
I"ve been watching your channel for at least two or three years now, and I think your ADHD is the least surprising thing to me that you've told us! My dad's whole side of the family is *riddled* with ADHD, so you have always been such a familiar presence and personality to me. You hit the nail on the head when you said how inconsistent the disorder can be... truly frustrating sometimes! You make such fun videos for us, Graeme, thank you!!
hiya i have been diagnosed with adhd since I was 13. I'm 19 now and your videos help me cope. one of my superpowers that comes with my adhd is I can tell when someone else has it. i have been watching you for 3 years now. i could just tell u had it.
Absolutely. Yes. We know our tribe! And isn't it a relief, the freedom of talking with another ADHDer and running several different subjects, simultaneously in the same conversation. And yes non-ADHDers it can be very difficult and very tiring to limit a conversation to only one subject going step by step to a logical conclusion!
Feedback: best intro yet. You have played around with different music... this is the best song. You also show your support staff in the intro. This is the winner.
I started watching your videos because I'm a horse hoof trimmer and was contacted by a couple people looking for cattle trims. Now that I know you have adhd it makes so much more sense to me that I'm so obsessed with your channel lol I also have adhd
That last cow walking and slipping in just about brought tears to my eyes. And hearing the possible permanent damage to her entire leg. Though I don't know about how much she will recover due to the necrosis, seeing her walk out was so uplifting.
I have been watching Graeme’s videos for a while and wondering if he had been diagnosed with ADHD! I was diagnosed last year at 59 and recognised so many of the same symptoms. Glad I know now… we might be challenging to live with but we’re very genuine. He has such a great personality and I’m so looking forward to reading the book. 🏴 🏴 🇦🇺
This video just took my stress and threw it out the window. I suddenly feel so much lighter knowing that you all are out there making these sweet cows feel so much better.
I felt that ADHD struggle, it's honestly always so good when I learn the people I watch on youtube are sharing those experiences and managing to do something really fun, really educational, or really community building. It's definitely uplifting. i got dx'd with severe adhd when i was 25/26. The constant contradiction of symptoms is wild. Getting meds improved my life drastically, but medication shortages in the UK have hecked that 'stability' up. Needing a routine, but needing freedom. Leaving early but still being late. So much knowledge of random things, but the struggle to remember what day it is QWQ Keep doing what your doing, may it always bring you interest and joy.
Thanks Greame...explaining how ADHD is to live by...and with...and not to be outdone fixing these hooves...bringing beautiful life changing results to the cattle😄🌠
Graeme is an introvert extrovert. That conflict often comes with anxiety and a myriad of other things. His honesty about it all, is heartwarming. I'm always totally impressed that he shares these things as it helps others realize they're not alone ❤
Adhd brains typically crave constant stimulation, yet get easily overwhelmed, so it doesn't matter if you're extroverted or introverted; if you hit the limits of how much stimuli you can take, and if you're not given the time and space to decompress, your brain will just start shutting down. at the same time, it might be hard to realize that you've hit your limits until it's too late 😅 When that happens to me, i start to struggle to verbalize, get frustrated and might lash out with aggression The switch can be either gradual or very sudden and unexpected With adhd you're often hyper-aware of things like every sound, every smell, every visual stimulus, and your brain is receiving constant informations from all different fronts at the same time, and adding to that your thoughts are constantly running wild too, so oftentimes it doesn't have that much to do with the socializing itself; just the inability of the brain to filter out the unnecessary stuff But you might also hyperfocus on something to the point everything else stops existing, and such prolonged focus also exhausts the brain, and also your body cause you forget to take care of it Tbf it's different with each person and how their type of adhd affects them
That pretty well describes me - anxiety like mad, introvert extrovert, shy show off, disorganized perfectionist. This channel is great at calming me after a tense day at work.
Intro/extro-version refers to how you recharge your batteries so you can’t be both introverted and extroverted. He’s a hyper social introvert I what I’m guessing you meant. He recharges by being alone while also craving and loving social interaction.
I can't tell you the number of times I've started watching your videos sitting back in my chair, and by the end I've practically got my nose pressed to the screen. What you do is absolutely fascinating.
That really was satisfying! I was sitting cringeing as you were taking more and more off that wee heifer's hoof, but the end result was brilliant. I love it when you explain everything about what you're doing that way. And the bull- what a complete gentleman! So patient and calm in the crush. I love the time-lapse bits too, with the well oiled machine of the three of you trimming your way through. Much love to all xx (and extra for Mrs Hoof GP for having to live with your randomness... lol xx)
Graeme, thank you very much for talking about ADHD. Especially for talking about the negative sides and how it can effect the people in our lives. As you might have seen in the comments, a lot of us fellow adhd'ers struggle with it on a daily basis and it's famous people like you that help with removing the stigma the diagnose still caries. Would it be possible that you make a video in which you talk about your experience with your ADHD? Like, how long ago have you been diagnosed, do you use medication, how do you use your adhd to your advantage (your job is one of those jobs very well suited for adhd'ers), what are your struggles with your adhd, etc. I'm in the very early stages of becoming a ADHD coach and if you or your team would like some assistance for that video, I would love to help.
I’m part of the ADHD crew and your videos have been my hyper-fixation for over 2 years! Your videos are the best combination of explanation, visuals and routine. Thank you for sharing you experiences with us all 🫶
That happens with girls a lot. People always associate these kind of neurodivergencies with boys so girls go undiagnosed. With boys, it tends to get better with age (happened to my fiance). With girls, it gets worse, as I’ve learned myself. Meds help me the best. I’m so easily distracted. I’m the stereotypical “I have attention deficit- SQUIRREL!”
I'm going to be 65 in March and have ADHD. I had struggled all my life. I was diagnosed in my 40's when I was in nursing school. My medicine helps tremendously!
I was diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia when I was 34 yrs old. Got on some medications that really helped me. I had also taught myself different ways to learn or handle day to day life. I even went back to college when I was 42 yrs old, and did extremely well. Unfortunately 8 years ago my husband passed away and a year later I went into heart failure. I can no longer take some of the medications for ADHD so life has been turned upside down. I am not looking forward to those so called golden years which are approaching rather quickly. I will be 65 next year. Enough about me. That heifer's foot was ugly when she went into the crush, we call it a squeeze, but came out looking pretty good. You could still see that her tendon was still slightly stretched but it was a major improvement from before. With time it should correct itself completely. Excellent job on her hoof Greame. Really look forward to your book coming out. Alberta 🇨🇦

@@jenh9221 I'm the same way with crafts and artwork. I get bored before I finish some things and anxious to start something new. I want to learn them all! It ends up with me having a whole lot of unfinished projects that will probably still be unfinished when I die. I keep telling myself I need to get them finished and sold so I can start something new. That never happens, I have at least 4, maybe 5, quilts that I need to get done.
A double feature of healing!?!? I love it!!! And I understand ADHD, that's why I weld, it gives me something to focus on that keeps me interested instead of my mind wandering off, plus my welding lid down keeps me away from people, which I'm not the best around lol

I completely recognise what you say about your SUPERPOWER! ❤ 18 years ago got diagnosed, it becomes easier to deal with, for yourselves, as well your friends and family. Some great jobs you did!
ADHD is such an interesting thing to have. It constantly is at odds with how you as a person want to develop, but at the same time it is part of you and deserves respect. It's your little inner child that you yourself need to nurture and keep happy, no one truly understands ADHD people like others who have ADHD. It's fascinating to learn you have it (though now that I think about it, you've shown us your ADHD side a lot over the years and in each video). You are totally right, it can be the greatest super power or a horrible curse. You probably won't see this comment, as it's been two weeks since this upload, but I really do appreciate all the work you do and the sage advice you give. You are a wonderful person Graeme and even if you suddenly disappear, know that you've influenced so many people.
Aww I always feel so bad for these babies, but then you and the boys come along and do your utmost to make it all better for them! Your description of your home sounds heavenly, I often wonder why my ancestors ever left Scotland lol.
Im glad you mentioned your adhd. I too have adhd and was medicated for it through school. I eventually found that alcohol worked great for treatment of adhd but became a severe alcoholic and im now 2.5 years sober. By far the best thing for people with adhd is a job that has you work with your hands and can always be improved apon. I was a full time glass pipe maker for 13 years and i still do it as a side job
I feel your pain with the ADHD. I'm the same way. That's why I work in the Emergency Room. Always new; but routines are the same. Hurry up and wait. Always something to learn. Task oriented. Multi-tasking is my best skill set. I can be on the phone with a patient, be doing orders in the computer, and listening to a doc give instructions all at the same time. Totally a gift in my line of work.
That last one, nicely done. :) I have ADHD that after getting older is self diagnosed but pretty obvious. It's like hitting a wall when something stops being interesting.
I'm 65 and was diagnosed with ADHD a year ago. WOW. Suddenly, my world makes sense (in a way). And I can confirm every statement you make about your own experience with ADHD, Graeme, so thank you for sharing so much of yourself. And yes, I find hoof trimming fascinating, although I live in a suburb and only see cows when I drive out to Wisconsin.

While I can’t understand a single word he says 😊, been praying for him. Give us an update when you can. Love to all you guys.
Graeme, I was in my 50’s when I got my ADD diagnosis. I guess my family physician noticed that my thoughts were like a pinball, bouncing from one thing to another. She asked me, “When you start a project or chore; do you finish it?” I gave her one of those, “Your kidding me…right?” looks. She prescribed Adderall, and my world literally changed for the better. I made great grades in school, especially in college, pursuing my degree. All through school, I read and reread texts to really grasp it. I succeeded, but it took so much time. ADD and ADHD get a bad rap. It’s real, and not all in my head; please pardon the corny segue! LOL!!!
It’s such a lovely sight to see you all getting along! Three brothers just doing their thing!! Love the channel. Wishing you all the very best. And a big thankyou to Mrs HGP! You are the driver behind these men! God bless you all! 🐄🐄🐂🐄🐄🐂🐄

I have been following you for a while now. Somehow, your adhd doesn't surprise me. I am late diagnosed autistic myself and find that, in general, communicating with people with similar neurodivergence is easier. This goes as far as that it is often more relaxing to watch video's made by neurodivergent people. It still takes great courage to speak openly about it online. Respect!
I have Audhd(autism and ADHD) its good to see im not the only one that struggles with keeping focused/interested in things. My hobbies are on a constant circle
My late husband learned how to deal with one part of my ADHD. Whenever we were talking about something together, he would say "squirrel" when I would get distracted and start talking about something else 😂
I mean, it has its challenges, but no more adjustment than living with someone else generally takes. You’re kind of making it sound like she’s a caretaker for a terminally ill spouse or something 💀 ADHD is very manageable with medication and therapy
This made me cry for the difference you made in the heffer that had such overgrown toes and over flexing her tendon. What a fantastic job you did. And yes it must be very satisfying to see the immediate difference your work makes. Im so glad i found your channel and watch the videos each week. Well done to you all.
I am 66 years old and was diagnosed as hyperactive when I was 8, now known as adhd. Both of my children are adhd too, my son has a severe case and my daughter’s is not quite as bad. We are quite the group and it takes special people to love us. I am no longer allowed to take medication and that makes things difficult but I do try my best, although I get off course quite easily. Lol. There are plenty of us out here and we understand the daily struggles. A job with lots of variety has been very important and keeps my interest just as your’s does for you. I am glad that you found something that works for you. I find what you do to be fascinating.

My father was a country veterinarian, so I'm always fascinated with things related to animal health and welfare... so this was amazing to see. BUT... I, like my wonderful father, suffer...ummmm... have the amazing superpower of ADHD! You described it to a tee. And what a blessing to have a spouse who not only understands my quirks and foibles but loves me despite them. I too have a profession that keeps my attention because of the developing science and the constant unknown of the next encounter.

My son was diagnosed young also, but he NEVER used it as an excuse to fail. Bless you in your life’s journey ❤❤
Absolutely. Yes. We know our tribe! And isn't it a relief, the freedom of talking with another ADHDer and running several different subjects, simultaneously in the same conversation.
And yes non-ADHDers it can be very difficult and very tiring to limit a conversation to only one subject going step by step to a logical conclusion!
Absolutely! There's always a specific vibe I can't explain too well, but it's there. Secret kinship lol
We find our own! 😊
I'm just here to say thank you Greame for being so authentic and honest. you are a huge inspiration for me!
And for all of us! Even us old folks! 🎉
So much knowledge of random things, but the struggle to remember what day it is QWQ
Keep doing what your doing, may it always bring you interest and joy.
Adhd brains typically crave constant stimulation, yet get easily overwhelmed, so it doesn't matter if you're extroverted or introverted; if you hit the limits of how much stimuli you can take, and if you're not given the time and space to decompress, your brain will just start shutting down. at the same time, it might be hard to realize that you've hit your limits until it's too late 😅
When that happens to me, i start to struggle to verbalize, get frustrated and might lash out with aggression
The switch can be either gradual or very sudden and unexpected
With adhd you're often hyper-aware of things like every sound, every smell, every visual stimulus, and your brain is receiving constant informations from all different fronts at the same time, and adding to that your thoughts are constantly running wild too, so oftentimes it doesn't have that much to do with the socializing itself; just the inability of the brain to filter out the unnecessary stuff
But you might also hyperfocus on something to the point everything else stops existing, and such prolonged focus also exhausts the brain, and also your body cause you forget to take care of it
Tbf it's different with each person and how their type of adhd affects them
That pretty well describes me - anxiety like mad, introvert extrovert, shy show off, disorganized perfectionist. This channel is great at calming me after a tense day at work.
He’s a really sweet, dear gentleman !!!
Intro/extro-version refers to how you recharge your batteries so you can’t be both introverted and extroverted. He’s a hyper social introvert I what I’m guessing you meant. He recharges by being alone while also craving and loving social interaction.
Ambivert, perhaps?
You make cattle in pain, happy. Which makes us happy. Thanks Graeme 🥰
I can't tell you the number of times I've started watching your videos sitting back in my chair, and by the end I've practically got my nose pressed to the screen. What you do is absolutely fascinating.
Think that's the best way I have heard adhd explained. I was diagnosed with ADD as a kid, before adhd was widely used.
That little heifer might be the single biggest improvement in any trim you’ve ever shown. I am in awe of your knowledge & skill.
Much love to all xx (and extra for Mrs Hoof GP for having to live with your randomness... lol xx)
Thank you, Graeme! For helping the cows, and sharing things about your life ❤ you're a wonderful person 😊
Normally my only interest in cows is there milk but i find myself hooked to your videos and cant wait for new content . KEEP IT COMING
Thank you for sharing you experiences with us all 🫶
I just got diagnosed....at 58/59. I'm still learning what it all means!
You look so beautiful Harriet 🙂
Welcome to the club. It's nowhere we really want to be, but it's great to know you're not alone and there are ways to live with these brains we have.
I wasn't proper diagnosed with autism til my 20s. It's a journey.
Alberta 🇨🇦
You will enjoy it
I have adhd and I find myself rewatching him even as my hyper focus hobbies change he will always be here
I’ve NEVER met a Scotsman who absolutely did not wax on very fondly about his love for and the beauty of his Scottish country side..….no matter where I’ve bumped into him..Home is where the heart and bones belong…❤
My other half has ADHD, it is challenging at times within the relationship but we're still together with our beautiful children. We adapt and do things our way, and what's best for us, and that helps everyone 😊
Great job on the hoof trimming.
Listening to you describe adhd is perfect I have dealt with it my entire life and couldn’t help but laugh when you were describing yourself! I know just how you feel and understand all of the comparisons.
Same here, big smile on my face!
You are like my son. Excited when he starts something new then gets bored. He has Adhd also.
lol I have started to play 14 instruments. If I could focus on one I’d be a professional musician. But instead I just progress to where I’m adequate and move on the the next.
My grandmother was from Scotland. She never said where. (strange bird) The only thing she ever said about growing up was her football (soccer) name was "Dirty Kate" I enjoy your channel and I am always thinking about how kind you seem to be. Hoof trimming is like teaching, there is always something new and I never got bored teaching for 50 years..... viewed in San Diego, California, USA by and 80 year old retired teacher. thanks
I completely recognise what you say about your SUPERPOWER! ❤ 18 years ago got diagnosed, it becomes easier to deal with, for yourselves, as well your friends and family.
Some great jobs you did!
Guys!!, protect those eyes!!
Yay! I have adhd too! I Also have aspergers ASD. It's a fun combo.
Aww I always feel so bad for these babies, but then you and the boys come along and do your utmost to make it all better for them! Your description of your home sounds heavenly, I often wonder why my ancestors ever left Scotland lol.
That is the part of this that makes me so happy. That beautiful little girl now has the chance to heal and move forward. ❤
Thank you to you and your team for caring and Loving these beautiful Souls!!!!!!
I crochet. It keeps my hands busy and my mind somewhat occupied but can still watch this and true crime videos
I so appreciate you showing that the diagnosis can be a bonus in some people’s lives.
@janetf9076 it's all about finding where your skills are and finding a job that works well with those skills.
You are certainly doing gods work caring for these magnificent creatures.
That last one, nicely done. :) I have ADHD that after getting older is self diagnosed but pretty obvious. It's like hitting a wall when something stops being interesting.
Don’t self diagnose. Go to the doctor first. It could be something else.
I could hear you tak all day LOVE the accent -- Hay there from New Zealand Taranaki
The Cow 🐮 Nail Salon 💅 🔥
I'm 65 and was diagnosed with ADHD a year ago. WOW. Suddenly, my world makes sense (in a way). And I can confirm every statement you make about your own experience with ADHD, Graeme, so thank you for sharing so much of yourself. And yes, I find hoof trimming fascinating, although I live in a suburb and only see cows when I drive out to Wisconsin.
Oh that little girlie is walking so much better. Well done guys. I just love this channel! Ordered my book as well. I look forward to hearing your story. How is your other worker who was in hospital?
LOL!!!
Night and day for that young heifer. What a great job 👏 👌
It’s such a lovely sight to see you all getting along! Three brothers just doing their thing!! Love the channel. Wishing you all the very best. And a big thankyou to Mrs HGP! You are the driver behind these men! God bless you all! 🐄🐄🐂🐄🐄🐂🐄
I've got ADHD and I can look up from something to see hours have passed...or I can have flitted from thing to thing and it's not even been ten minutes. Glad the cows keep you interested and focused!
Respect!
I know nothing about farming but I find your channel fascinating to watch
I thought I saw signs you were one of us! I came by my Dx late in life (46) and it explains soooo much!
I have Audhd(autism and ADHD) its good to see im not the only one that struggles with keeping focused/interested in things. My hobbies are on a constant circle
It is very freeing knowing others have had similar experiences to me with ADHD. Thank you
Can I just give a word of support to Mrs. HoofGP, being married tor someone with ADHD is incredibly difficult. You're not alone.
Not necessarily!! I found my husband totally fascinating at what he could accomplish!
Warmed my heart to see the last cow walking so much more comfortably. 😊❤
Wow that last cow's hoof sure looked a mess the poor lass , the difference at the end was amazing . Great job lads as always .
This made me cry for the difference you made in the heffer that had such overgrown toes and over flexing her tendon. What a fantastic job you did. And yes it must be very satisfying to see the immediate difference your work makes.
Im so glad i found your channel and watch the videos each week. Well done to you all.
Fellow ADHD person here!!! Love your videos Graeme, so you’re definitely keeping my attention!!!
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
I am 66 years old and was diagnosed as hyperactive when I was 8, now known as adhd. Both of my children are adhd too, my son has a severe case and my daughter’s is not quite as bad. We are quite the group and it takes special people to love us. I am no longer allowed to take medication and that makes things difficult but I do try my best, although I get off course quite easily. Lol. There are plenty of us out here and we understand the daily struggles. A job with lots of variety has been very important and keeps my interest just as your’s does for you. I am glad that you found something that works for you. I find what you do to be fascinating.
With ADHD my daughter was still able to become a registered nurse and is continuing her education married with a 10 month old daughter is a lot to handle for anyone but like I said hoof GP she was able to achieve her goals. Although she took a 4 years of college by and finished after 2 years. Love your channel even though my wife is like gross Dave what are you watching. I said “ it’s something I didn’t know about so I wanted to learn! “ I’m 61 was fully disabled 6 months into 2 new careers in my thirties as a first responder. Now I collect knives and if you got an old one, hoof knife could you send me one I’ll pay shipping and price. I’m setting up some of my friends in the knife community. I started by looking up hoof knives but blocked out hoof knives, and already they are curious. I’ve said I got it from a prince should be here anytime now. Nobody has figured out what I’m up too! Hahahahaha 😂😂
That was an amazing improvement!
I'm so excited when I see your videos! I absolutely love watching you and the guys. Hope y'all have an amazing day! 💜
Oh Graeme, I've got to say, this is my favorite episode EVER!
As a fellow ADHD diagnosee, the comment about inconsistency in mess and people is SO on point. 😅 then you added about the random details. 🙌🏼😂
100% looking better, it's a good job the farmers have you to help these lovely cows walk much better.
Your ADHD hasn't hindered your ability to teach about the cows' hoof care & how you treat them. Love your vids. Thanks.
Oh how sweet and little the lady girlie was....great job taking care of these beautiful animals!
The magic of the girls getting their nails done, and the big bulls.❤
Hi Graham, from Toronto Canada. As a senior who was only diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 60 I love seeing successful ADHD-ers. Love your videos. They are educational and full of heart. Keep up the great work. ❤️
Absolutely amazing how much better the cow is walking!!!
Your videos are a refuge on RUclips from the chaos of current events. Thanks so much for sharing the beauty of Scotland, and your care and sensitivity for the critters.
I feel ya Mate! Old school adhd here. Just a large amount of crafts and messy house!❤
I just call it being very creative!
That little heifer at the end nearly had me in tears. You could just see the relief in her body when she walked on that back left leg and it was correct. Graeme, going above and beyond as always.
What music around the 3:30 mark? Very peaceful
every video I see you can just feel the passion you have for this.its beautiful and comforting knowing these beautiful beings are being cared for by someone who cares so much.
15:06 that is one beautiful cow there ❤ lovely mark on her face
Wow that was amazing how she was walking after you fixed her foot ❤
It’s one of those pat yourself on the back moments when you see them walking 💯 better, fantastic job team 👍🏻
The look of pride and joy on both of you guys is golden. That was an incredible job. I hope you give us a follow up on this girl.
Perfect explanation of ADHD. Bless his heart, the bull looked so pitiful. Listening to your videos is actually calming while I work. I love how everyone jokes so well and doesn't get offended by the sarcasm!
Hello Graham, Kev and everyone, I have been watching your videos for some years and enjoy the help you give, being an old city boy I don’t really understand it all but I know you always do you best for the cows and bulls! Could I just say that watching the beginning of the video I could see you were in the zone, relaxed and enjoying your work! Harry
Remarkable difference!
