That engine "tuned" would still be a parallel twin. And that's what limits it's super-sport capability. That said, it's the only parallel twin bike I'd spend money on. Looks amazing and sounds really good with an aftermarket pipe.

It’s a great bike and really good looking! A little more on the sport/touring side but it’s still really nimble and light. This bike doesn’t compare to the Ninja zx6r though. Different class of bike but either way you made a great choice!
I about your height. Never let your height control you. I did a test on a 660 a few months back, it looks tall at our height, feels abit bulky aswell, but i could easily flat foot one side on it. You never want both down anyway. Go do a test ride. Its an amazing bike, ill get one as my next bike for sure.
its shrinking because its not needed for road use inline 4s are meant for the track most people are commuting or casual riding and are not using 1/3 of the power an inline 4 600 can do even the 1ks are to much for street youre doing 60 in first gear.
I bought a rs660 as a second bike knowing that there could be issues in the long term, but I believe if you follow the maintenance schedule, do your oil change every 5,000km,let it run before throwing a leg over it and you treat the throttle with ReSpect 🫡 it should last a few seasons 😊 nice review! I’m still in love with mine, my friends are jealous lol
Aprilia always makes great entry-level bikes. Or lower cc class bikes. That's where they started! They didn't get into 1000cc class until 1998!

The dealership guy is incorrect; there’s no compression damping adjustability. Rebound and spring preload only.

I think it can be very aggressive with a flash and exhaust .
