The US offices got back to me about a year and a half later and forwarded me to my local dealership... I ended up buy a ceramic silver AWD 2019 new and I love it! but would have loved to get a GTS

My GTS is turning 1yr old at the end of this month, probably gonna hit 17 or 18k miles in a year which is the most I've driven. This car just eats up the miles!
Dude, when I first got my 21’ Stinger back in 2020, I worked from home as a mortgage underwriter, I still managed to put 13.8k miles a year on it. One month I spent $600 in fuel when testing the Lozic ECU tunes lol - it’s a drivers car. You get to experience some German engineering mixed with KDM, it’s an awesome experience. I've owned two Stingers. The first one was a then-new 2019 Ceramic Silver GT1 AWD. Did mods, no issues with it for the 3 years I had it. Sold it for almost what I got it for. Two years later, I had the itch to get one again, and your channel, which I was following when I had my first Stinger, didn't help..j/k. 😉 So I bought a pre-owned 2018 HiChroma Red GT2 AWD, which yes, first year car, but was in pistine condition, and no first year issues (knock on wood). I do miss the H-matic shifter from the GT1, but I do like all the GT2-specific amenities and don't regret it. Started modding again (of course!), and it's nice to look back at your past content on those mods, many of which I also did with my previous Stinger, and will do again on this one. Anyways, I will speak for everyone here that we appreciate your channel, and keep it up! 👍

@@JamesSarino pros and cons, the AEM, BMS, Injen are all open cones, so you will hear the turbos making more noise and the blow off from the diverter valve into the intakes, which is cool, but for performance, absolutely go with the AFE and get the Velosatech snorkels to connect them, it’s a true ram air system. Im sure you will enjoy it either way! That engine gets so hot and they didn’t design the air intake the best imo.

I love it when people try and guess what car I've got when I pull up. I've got the Indigo edition. Bought it brand new in 2020 during covid. Got a killer deal on it. It's funny when people hate on kia but the car is an amazing car. Coming up on 100k miles. Could use that Mykey to help with cold winters haha
My 2023 Genesis G70 3.3T Sport Prestige came with factory upgraded front rotors. I never had to resurface them, unlike my 2021, which had a constant warping problem.
Ive been looking at several '23 GT2s and ive narrowed it down to an AWD and RWD. Will be mostly daily and dont care for racing in "Mexico." I wont be doing much other than adding JB4, intakes, catchcans, swaybars, and snorkels. So far leaning towards the RWD because I really only care about those 3rd gear pulls! Even if I were to slap on some wider summer performances tires, is the launch really that bad compared to AWD with just a JB4 map 2? Again I might launch it a few times a month, if that, but it will be just for fun. I feel I might get more out of a RWD with the reduced weight. Low four second car is plently for me.
Appreciate the comment! What is your climate like? If you get a lot of rain and snow, the D-AWD is very good, I mean x-drive good. However, with Kia putting a 100k miles warranty on it, they do not allow you to build boost off the like the Audi RS5 on my channel, and there is about a 1 second delay when you launch the car. This can be fixed with a $900 TCU tune to drop in the car. You sound a lot like me lol, JB4 was all I was going to do. RWD has less weight (around 400lbs) compared to AWD and you will not loose as much power through drivetrain loss. But even with a stock TCU, I rode in Adolfo’s GT and he was spinning in second gear with e30 fuel. If you get one, make sure you put an oil catch can on it first thing. GDI carbon build up is ridiculous. If a super nice car just cruising around in, but if you modify a RWD, you will absolutely need to invest in some better tires. The Michelins that come on the AWD are pretty good. Lots of variables here brother.
The AWD system in the Stinger and The G70 is rear wheel drive bias, I feel there's no need to buy a RWD model and you can buy a transfer case tune from Lozic to split the power 50/50 for the AWD system!
I tired to trade my GT for a GTS one time I was at the dealership , the guy just pulled up and they took his plate off , I went to tell the sales person I wanted it, they said another couple buying a car cancelled their deal and said they wanted it first. 😡
I have always wanted a kia stinger and wanted to purchased back during the pandemic but they were going for 60K back then. I kept my paid off Hyundai sonata limited until this past March. I only traded it in due to a problem with the engine. I had to go out of state but I did end up trading my car in to purchase a 22 GT2 ceramic silver scorpion edition. I walked off the lot paying exactly what it was advertised for. Best of all I got a car that I can afford within my means. Is it what I wanted no but I couldn't afford a brand new high end Genesis suv lol. It has been awhile since I have had a car payment. I told myself I did not want a car payment over 450$ and I stuck to my word! Sure the car is not a V8 nor is it a corvette, Ford mustang or bmw but I still have plenty of fun driving my car every day! By the way I am a female and the car turns heads everywhere I go! I even had the guy workers at the kia dealership fan girling over how sweet looking my car was 😂😂. Luckily where I live stingers are not very common. K5's on the other hand are very common here 👎. I have maybe seen 8 other stingers in my city In the last 2 years! Car already came with lowering springs. The only modifications I made were wrapping my roof and pillars in black vinyl, tinting all my windows, and a chrome delete. Next stop is getting a carbon fiber hood installed and then paint protection film and ceramic coating it. No regrets at all with purchasing my stinger 😊

I have the first year, 2018. 62k miles without any issues. The notion that the first year of ANY car brand’s new model will have a lot of issues isn’t always the truth. I used to work for K8 helping with customer service in the forums and groups and I’ll tell you the most people I saw having a lot of issues were cars from 2020 and on for some reason. Especially 2022’s.
Exactly, I got mine 11-2017 and it was THE first one to hit the state. I had zero issues, other than the brake shake, which I quickly fixed with new aftermarket pads/rotors. I'd probably still have it if I hadn't totaled it last year (with 88k miles on the odom, and still received a $31k payout).
I’m only speaking from my experience. If you bought it with no miles on it like mine, then that’s great. If you got it used, I’m sure all the little issues I’ve seen people have got fixed. I still recommend nobody buy ANY make of a cars first year model if it can be avoided. I hope you continue to enjoy it!
The Kia Stinger has RWD in Australia because we don't even get AWD here! I don't know why you're complaining. Being able to floor it from a dead stop when modified and being able to put all that power down without spinning beats an LSD RWD any day of the week! Count yourselves lucky
I’ve seen people say they swapped the GTS rear diff on their AWD. It’s expensive though, I’ve seen G70 owners say they did theirs for around $2500 installed then another guy got one off eBay for $450. I would jump on the KiaStinger forum and check it out, I’m sure more have been done by now. I’m sure there are aftermarket solutions to this by now.

Is it worth it to buy two piece rotors? I put EBC blue stuff on my brothers G70 and Green stuff on mine, stopping power was improved dramatically but brake dust is killing me 😂
@@hasanfadhil6404 if your budget can do it, yes. They are lighter weight so less rotating mass and dissipate heat better. I would look into the R1 concept brakes personally. When you get up to 2 pc carbon forged rotors, those are really just meant for the track / super aggressive braking. R1 makes a combo of both with the cross drilled and slotted rotors, people love em
My first mod was intakes, followed by exhaust. Once I put the MBRP on, it started over boosting often. This is due to a major air flow restriction in the piping by the rear axle. That’s when I put the JB4 on in map 2. I remember I just hit 5k miles with the JB4 and I was all worried about it, but it ran so much better and stopped going limp. However, if I were to re do it, now that the AFE Takeda intakes are out, I would 100% do those instead of the Injen ones as they are more functional. You won’t hear the diverter valve blowing off excess air as much, but you can always get BOVs later on, just be careful on how you install them, they can leak boost or cause turbo flutter if spring is too tight. I think for the money, Lozic makes a great tune. I’ve been told Lap 3 has Kia data, and people say they are the best. So far, they have the best 0-60 on my channel running 100% meth and e30. It wouldn’t benefit me either way you go. ECU is nice to disable the ISG (auto start stop feature) choosing strength of pops and bangs, and maximum power to be pulled out of the engine. I would still recommend you get the JB4 first and then you can stack your ECU on top of it. The JB4 allows you to monitor the tune, record logs, make adjustments, then you can ask for revisions when needed. The only issue I have with Lap3 is charging an extra $1,000 for those features Lozic includes. $2,700 for a Kia tune is too much imo. Otherwise, I can’t really comment on how they feel since I’ve never driven a lap3 tuned Stinger or G70. Those are the only two flash tunes I would recommend for the Stinger.

I just traded mine in at Matt Blatt Kia in Egg Harbor Twp NJ. It has exhaust, intakes, JB4, catch can and carbon fiber additions. Only 40k miles.

Stock BOVs is fine for now, I would say air filter, followed by exhaust.
My first mod was intakes, followed by exhaust. Once I put the MBRP on, it started over boosting often. This is due to a major air flow restriction in the piping by the rear axle. That’s when I put the JB4 on in map 2. I remember I just hit 5k miles with the JB4 and I was all worried about it, but it ran so much better and stopped going limp. However, if I were to re do it, now that the AFE Takeda intakes are out, I would 100% do those instead of the Injen ones as they are more functional. You won’t hear the diverter valve blowing off excess air as much, but you can always get BOVs later on, just be careful on how you install them, they can leak boost or cause turbo flutter if spring is too tight. What ecu tune do u recommend
I think for the money, Lozic makes a great tune. I’ve been told Lap 3 has Kia data, and people say they are the best. So far, they have the best 0-60 on my channel running 100% meth and e30. It wouldn’t benefit me either way you go. ECU is nice to disable the ISG (auto start stop feature) choosing strength of pops and bangs, and maximum power to be pulled out of the engine. I would still recommend you get the JB4 first and then you can stack your ECU on top of it. The JB4 allows you to monitor the tune, record logs, make adjustments, then you can ask for revisions when needed. The only issue I have with Lap3 is charging an extra $1,000 for those features Lozic includes. $2,700 for a Kia tune is too much imo. Otherwise, I can’t really comment on how they feel since I’ve never driven a lap3 tuned Stinger or G70. Those are the only two flash tunes I would recommend for the Stinger.
Been tuned with Lozic for 2 years and 25k miles no issues at all, and Daniel he's a great guy to deal with.
