He’d probably have some sort of tripping peaceable block like villager tripping sapling, a recovery with a better hit box, and faster mining
Tidus or Lightning is the only option here. More Lightning, because she had large ability list that can be applied to Smash mechanics. For example she can shoot and other FF main characters cant.

Considering the Gematsu leak, I'm pretty sure the Rhythm Heaven rep was going to be the Chorus Kids but they probably were scrapped for the same reason the Ice Climbers were and in the end they probably weren't considered a priority for Ultimate since they didn't have many base game newcomers (or they still had issues with 8-player-smash).
I think a Rhythym Heaven character would be hard because of the difficulty of making a character that represents the Rhythym Heaven series. There are just too many iconic characters in the series, and those characters dont have as much depth as a fully developed characters that they could have added easier like Cloud and Bayonetta already having more than a few moves in their games.

I feel like outside of Cloud, and I know I’m going to get told wrong from this, but the only character that first comes to mind for ME is the classic FF1 Black Mage.
I always felt Cloud being the choice Final Fantasy character was a bit generic but at the same time the right choice considering FF7 is kinda the Final Fantasy that everyone has played. Plus its a better choice than going "uh whats the latest game to come out? Just put that guy in."
