Thank you so much for loving my storage ideas! I just got my husband to watch the video with me on the TV and he was impressed. Our consumer debt will be paid off next month. Wonderful! They can still be bought today. My house is very very old but kitchen was remodeled back in the 60’s or 70s and I believe that’s when that cabinet was put in.
My parents had one of those put in the 1924 house they bought and updated in 1964. (Honestly, nothing had been updated since 1924. And that particular 40-year period had seen extraordinary changes, from appliances to cabinetry to telephone and electric!) A local cabinet-maker built it in place, with solid cherry wood exterior doors. It was my mother's pride and joy, (after us kids, of course), and it was called "the Cannarama" (so 1960s!). It was a genius use of space, still is.
Wow! Love that pantry storage & the tips & tricks Kimberley has for storage! Really awesome! I've loved seeing how others store things! 🥰Blessings from South Australia💕🐨
I love eating green beans and beets straight out of the can. I’ve done it for years I don’t end them heated up, it’s kinda like snacking but on healthy foods
We use a spare bedroom as a pantry. We use an old computer armoire to put cans and some small boxes and condiments. Just shut the doors and nobody knows.
I got that computer cabinet at Office Depot 15 years ago. it was a floor model that had slight damage and I got it for 60 bucks. When we were no longer using it for the computer I stored blankets and stuff in it and then when I started stockpiling food and needed extra space that’s when I came up with the idea to use that cabinet.
I can totally relate to health issues and its effect on how much you cook being a factor in what groceries you buy. There are days that cooking is just to much for me.
This lady, Kimberly, was by far my favorite grocery audit. If I could nominate someone for the award, she would get it. She’s obviously not afraid of working hard to organize herself and to prep her foods from growing to processing packaging. I really take a lot of inspiration from Kimberly AND she is relatable.

I don't do instant coffee just because it's more expensive to make larger amounts. The best thing we have started is "cold brew" coffee, it's so much cheaper. We bought a large 1 gallon glass jar with built in strainer. 1-2 cups ground coffee per 1 gallon water. Let it sit in the fridge or counter for 24 hours. (Then keep in fridge otherwise molds in about 4 days.) It has just as much caffeine as almost as much as hot brew due to the longer "brew" time. (Coffee grounds in with coffee longer.) Then coffee is ready all work week in the fridge.
Instant Coffee usually contains gluten. I'm gluten sensitive, but I keep it in the house for a backup spare in case of emergency. Hubby drinks coffee often. * I use your gf cookbook all of the time. Love it!❤
Speaking of expiration dates. I found a can of clam chowder dated 2013. I opened it, smelled it and cooked it. Just a sip tasted ok so I ate it and never got sick from it.

Oh my, Kimberly. I have never found another person who owns the 1970’s vintage metal “Flour” and “Coffee” canisters (@14:42). I bought the set of four when I moved into my first apartment during college. And? Am still using them for rice, quinoa, lentils, etc. (I now live in rural Nebraska. Think: Critters.)
I made my own chocolate sauce using 4 ingredients to give as gifts. I did add peppermint extract to one jar and orange extract to another. Two I left plain chocolate. So easy and good!
I use an inexpensive espresso maker, but use regular ground coffee. It's as fast as microwaving a cup of water for instant coffee. It's also cheaper and tastes much better.
Instant coffee doesn't hold a candle to Community Coffee...Even Folgers is better than any instant available. Imo, instant is not worth drinking, as it does not taste good. At all. It's like comparing name brand Coke or pepsi to a generic diet cola. (Community Coffee is a Louisiana brand).
I have 1950 old home with inbuild wooden cabinets in lounge room there but of space on top that's my stock piling area dry beans rice pasta tin fish tin vegies tin tomatoes tin soup etc
I don’t know why people don’t use instant coffee either. I’ve had Keurig’s, Mr. Coffee, nonelectric drip coffee pots and I’ve gone back to instant coffee. I usually only drink one cup of coffee a day anyway so why take up a lot of counter space when I can use instant. I find I like it better. This was a great video with lots of great ideas. Oh, I got Diing on a Dime volume two and made the cranberry slow cooker roast and it was amazing. I’m going to try the fruit cake too for Christmas too
You were asking on another one of your videos about where you wanted to put your flour and sugar MI I finally bought the stackable Tupperware it worked out perfectly in my cabinets
Have you ever considered doing a show with food recall updates. Thought it might help those who have short to long term pantries make sure nothing is recalled.
Wow, that lady has it all together! I also had your old paperback cookbook, Not Just Beans. But sadly I misplaced it when we moved. ( I know it's somewhere in this house. I would not have thrown it away) I am going to start packing my car with some snack foods. Today I was driving home from my kids ( a two and half hour drive) I have fibro and RA and was getting really tired and hungry. So I stopped at a Big Boys ( not a fancy place) and got a philly beef sandwich with a coffee...cost me over $20.00, not including a tip! crazy!
Regarding dogs...Mine was a fuzzy little puppy when I got her. She just kept growing to 110 pounds. She sometimes wants to sit in my lap but can't fit so only half of her can be in my lap. She will probably eat better than me if something really goes wrong. She knows when someone is coming long before I do so I figure that is her security pay.
I drink coffee everyday all the coffee even Starbucks but I drink instant too I think it’s a little stronger when I need a little boost. My brother in law does same thing he’s a welder. Instant coffee is a great option
I have a five cup coffee maker and grind my coffee from beans. It is WAY cheaper, and I can have my 2 cups of day to make me a nice person. I won so much coffee in years past, I gave away 60 bags to the police dept. Beans do better in a cool area, but not frozen, as you don't want to deal with mold. It is good for many things, including flower fertilizer. And it makes the house smell amazing!
I have water under my sons bed. Used to have it other places but I poured it out so we could refill it but then that space got taken up. So I'm back to square one.
Tawra, I know you are a tea aficionado so I’ll use a comparison to perhaps help you understand since you’re not a coffee drinker the difference between using instant coffee and ground coffee. Do you make a cup of hot tea with instant tea powder? It just doesn’t have the rich full taste does it? The same is true with instant coffee it even though it’s only freeze dried coffee powder it has some kind of different, off maybe even chemical taste to it. I think the popularity of all of the different ground, coffees and flavored ground coffee’s has resulted because of advancements in. Coffee making equipment. With all of the fancy machines that are out there what I do is the pour over method where I boil water poured over the ground and let it drip into a pot or a cup. Same taste, or better, as a fancy, expensive drip coffee maker.
I would have bought all of those items at those prices - I live in Hawaii and the prices have always been sky high to cover the shipping costs. The stores here do not do coupon sales like the mainland. I do grow my fruit and I'm thankful not to pay for heating in the winter. I gave up drinking soda.
Instant coffee isn't so bad. Im alone and i rotate between my coffee press and instant. I think many people use too much instant coffee grounds and not enough water. It is very concentrated, use less it will probably taste better.
when it comes to coffee if depends on the person. I know for a lot of people its about how quickly you can have coffee or the taste/smell of coffee. I don't mind having a machine for my coffee.
From the looks of her food pantry- not sure why she’s doing much shopping at all? I just threw out (a bunch) of freezer burnt meats, veggies. It was because I would buy things “ because it’s on a good sale” and forget all that I had. Making menus now and not buying anything I could substitute another item on hand for. Hopefully I can get the 4- freezers cleaned out and go from there.
Agree, instant coffee tastes terrible. I would rather do without coffee than to drink instant. I don't have a fancy coffee maker.....I use the pour over method which makes an excellent cuppa joe.
Have a quick question. On the coffee, Hills Bros. it was $9.16 or 30 Cents an ounce. The Great Value was a bigger can for $9.96 (yes 80 cents more) but more ounces and only 20.8 cents an ounce. Or did I look at sign wrong??
My husband pointed out to me that it wasn’t that fair of a comparison because great value was a larger can. He prefers Hills Bros. so I bought that but yes I did miss that. Too focused on videoing.😆
I use instant cause its just me ...I buy a good brand that, taste good ...I use to make s pit if coffee or Kerug n i wssyed souch money n coffee down the drain ...😮
Just my opinion, instant coffee doesn't taste as good as kcups. Gallon jugs of water fit nicely behind your couch. Also, if you have a stand alone fireplace, you can store a ton of cans behind it.❤
Instant coffee does Not taste good. That’s why we don’t all just make it. I have some for emergency purposes. I don’t use pods. They are way too expensive. I just brew a large pot and heat what’s left when I need a cup.
Great eisode tho when shopping there was definitely foods she could of got no name or bought margarine not butter ! I believe people have become coffee snobs, bouiche; Here in B.C. Canada even instant coffee is expensive unless get at Costco tho no decaf instant at Costco.🇨🇦🍁
from what I have heard, instant coffee tastes awful. My Mom used to drink it all the time back in the 60's onward but got a coffee pot in later years and never looked back
Yeah honestly people are not smart getting addicted to the coffee promotions. If you go to let's say Starbucks I'm assuming you pay around $8 for a cup. Me (26) and my husband (27) have instant coffee store brand $3.99 for 3 weeks worth of coffee everyday only thing that's "pricey" with this is coffee creamer which I only buy one on sale. The coffee taste different but you adapt to it plus coffee creamer masks it. Also you have to be careful the water isn't to hot or it will burn the instant coffee and taste so gross. I did splerge this week though as treat for hubby on caffine because my discount store had those fancy steaz antioxidant brews (made organic coffeeberry) it was 2 for $.67 and usually 2.83 each. Better then redbull I would think.
I wonder what people are going to do when they can't get all their medications ? I also notice the foods are full of chemicals and are making us sick .. We better get in shape get off medications n choose our food better while we can .
Good points. I reorder my medication on the earliest day I can and after doing that for a few months you can build up a little bit of extra medication. Unfortunately with chronic illnesses you have to have medication. If it was not available I would just use it till it was gone and then suffer.
My problem is that I cook from scratch easy recipes, so al, the packages and boxes and cans, are not what we eat. For mrñe it is very easy to colk from scratch, llts lf vegetable , some potatoes , rice and pasta and that is it. So keeping all, those boxes and cans is not what we eat.
Here's my "Tom Thumb grocery" Iist I'd like to get this week. (Not saying hubby will get it all but here's to hoping.) They had lots of awesome sales this past week as well, where he gathered up baking stuff this past week. We only buy our coffee when it's on sale too. Even though the new sale price is the old regular price, but still a savings in today's world for sure. * I didn't add the meat as I'd like to have a turkey to go with Christmas dinner, and I saw where I could get it at .50¢ per pound if I order online, and pick up at different store. But to be honest, Tom Thumb has some really great meat sales this week as well. Like .97a# pork butt roast limit one, or $1.49 a # for fresh boneless skinless chicken breasts limit 10#'s, (if this is your thing) they also have $4.99 a pound T bone steaks limit two, as well as $4.99 per # raw shrimp sold in two pound packages @$9.98 ea limit 2, or $8.99 a pound for snow crab legs or dungenous crab. Since we'd be spending just over $30.00 it gives us the option for a spiral ham @ .97¢ a pound limit one. If he doesn't want to go elsewhere to get the turkey cheaper Tom Thumb also has turkeys for $1.49 a pound which isn't terrible either. Here's my list (without the meat.) All are sale items some need digital coupons added to your store shopping card per online account and some have limits as well to get the deals. 1) 60 count Lucerne eggs $6.49 2) 2 pounds Lucerne butter $3.98 3) 1 gal milk $1.99 4) 2-5# bags russet potatoes b1g1 free $3.49 5) 2-32oz coffee mate coffee creamers $3.98 6) 4#'s granny Smith or gala apples $3.16 7) 2-7count bags of avocados $3.98 8) 2#'s of strawberries $1.94 9) 2 cans pumpkin $1.98 Total Equals *if I did my math right and got prices all correct* $34.00 not counting meat. That's a lot of food for that amount. So figure forty some odd dollars with either the turkey or ham. Plus I have everything else I already need at home for a nice turkey or ham dinner, like home canned cranberry sauce, stuff to make pie crusts, I make my own mayo, so I could make deviled eggs, I make my own gravy, corn bread dressing, and yeast rolls, I also have veggies already as I too like to keep a good working pantry at all times if I can. We always shop this way around sales. I am not about paying full price or feeding the greed if we don't have to. We buy as much as possible on sale, and stock up around those sales also. Or if there are no good sales we'll only get what need at the cheapest place we can find it at. We do have pretty good picking options as far as places close by to shop at as well. I kinda freak out when I see other peoples grocery bills though.
The cabinet in my living room has tubs of freeze dried food Augason farms, my patriot supply 4patriots etc. I probably could get a good 4 to 6 months of food just out of that cabinet. Plus I did not show my water storage I did not show my water filtration I didn’t show everything. I showed what was needed for the video because I wanted to try to inspire other people and to get inspiration and help with my budget for my groceries from Tawra. 👸 I have a 7 ft.³ freezer in my pump house that’s full of food. I have a woodstove in my basement I have a fire pit I have a grill I have my sterno and butane burner so I have many ways to cook food plus I have two fireplaces. I’ve done everything I can - yes if everything collapsed I could not last seven years tribulation but I don’t plan on being here. I’m always learning and expanding my knowledge. If you do have any suggestions I would be happy to take a look at them. We’re all doing the best we can with what we have with what budget we have. I do have about two years of dried firewood and a forest on my property along with the well. We live a few miles from a river where we can fish and we have wild turkeys, deer, and other animals that we would be able to hunt if needed.
I don't like instant coffee but keep some on hand because unopened it can last forever. I can also agree with Jack about peanut butter as I love it so much I think I could live on it if I had too.
My son is a nurse, when my husband had to be life flighted due to a heart problem, my son came home and said "lets pack our lunches for the next few days, we are not eating hospital food". I always have left overs so it was not a problem to pack a little cooler and off we went each day to the hospital.
Before "that thing" went around, our local hospital had a great cafeteria and I could stop in and get a substantial, very tasty meal for about $4.50. I didn't have health problems, but was working 10-hour days, and some days just did not want to cook at all. They also offered a huge croissant, over Filled with excellent egg, chicken or tuna salad on lettuce for $3.29, And they made the best hand-dipped milkshakes in this town. It was one of this small city's best kept secrets, mostly just staff knew about it and used it. Alas, those days are gone...

Here a tip for all those who are storying pantry like the soda can boxed etc... like buying the store shelf ie: tunna packets grab the shelf box and all that left dont leave the empties take them home use them in pantry and really cool tip
use either spray oaint or brush paint use primer then the colors you like and take a lable off a can and then use a water sealent primer and or can use a glue that dries clear and it will help the cardbord not to become musty moldy affect and it free to use also if you want you can find like tiny bottle caps to glue on to raise them up just a bit to give air flow to keep everything from moisture... moisture is how can begin to rust or mold so get those in camper section find for keep moister i forget name of them and to help keep bugs away sasha of the spices and herbs that detoyr naturaly insexts spiders etc... no chemical mess around your foid storages and if you got a root celler cedar and pine needles help sometimes...
still always once a month at least esoecially in root cellers go and sweep and clean each can dusting isn't just for furnature as my granny said growing up...
hope this helps i'm not able do all these fancies yet it nice see y'all do like my family did before they passed on.... thanks take care everyone sorry my post so long

Love it!
I drink coffee everyday all the coffee even Starbucks but I drink instant too I think it’s a little stronger when I need a little boost. My brother in law does same thing he’s a welder. Instant coffee is a great option
Love the video. Thanks
We have both instant and for the pot because we get alot of company lol
Great video!
Great video. Love 💕 and Hugs. ❤❤❤
All good ideas, nice pantries. We use individual coffee bags when we don't want to make a whole pot, have instant in the long term pantry.
I have water under my sons bed. Used to have it other places but I poured it out so we could refill it but then that space got taken up. So I'm back to square one.
Love it❤
My husband drinks instant coffee. He dosen't have the patience to wait for it to perk. 😂
She didn’t realize on the coffee, though the great value brand was $.10 cheaper per ounce then her Hill bros brand.
My husband pointed that out. He prefers Hills brothers so I buy that or Aldi’s brand.
That's what I do also. Agree 💯.
I would have bought all of those items at those prices - I live in Hawaii and the prices have always been sky high to cover the shipping costs. The stores here do not do coupon sales like the mainland. I do grow my fruit and I'm thankful not to pay for heating in the winter. I gave up drinking soda.
Where is the credit/link to this "Kimberly" channel that is being reviewed? I don't see it or is this just a friend?
Does the lady have a channel so we could follow her as well?
No. Thanks for compliment though.
Hello from Deadwood! Great show 👏 Thanks
Hello there!
The only freeze dried coffee that's good is Cafe Bustello, otherwise, they do taste different-not in a good way.
A coffee taste test is a great idea. Try different brands.
I only you regular instant coffee
Have a quick question. On the coffee, Hills Bros. it was $9.16 or 30 Cents an ounce. The Great Value was a bigger can for $9.96 (yes 80 cents more) but more ounces and only 20.8 cents an ounce. Or did I look at sign wrong??
My husband pointed out to me that it wasn’t that fair of a comparison because great value was a larger can. He prefers Hills Bros. so I bought that but yes I did miss that. Too focused on videoing.😆
Regular instant coffee.....nooooooooo. Doesn't not taste the same. I have it in my stockpile but as a last resort.
Also, if you have a stand alone fireplace, you can store a ton of cans behind it.❤
Keep an eye on the water -- I've had gallon jugs of water leak within a couple years.
Instant coffee does Not taste good. That’s why we don’t all just make it. I have some for emergency purposes. I don’t use pods. They are way too expensive. I just brew a large pot and heat what’s left when I need a cup.
Great eisode tho when shopping there was definitely foods she could of got no name or bought margarine not butter
! I believe people have become coffee snobs, bouiche; Here in B.C. Canada even instant coffee is expensive unless get at Costco tho no decaf instant at Costco.🇨🇦🍁
Instant coffee is as appetizing as instant tea. No thanks, I'll pass in favor of plain water and be just fine.
Instant coffee doesn't taste the same as fresh brewed.
Instant coffee tastes terrible.
from what I have heard, instant coffee tastes awful. My Mom used to drink it all the time back in the 60's onward but got a coffee pot in later years and never looked back
Instant coffee does not taste like fresh brewed.
😂you won't spend on butter, but you will get junk food
Pack a jar of salad
Here's my list (without the meat.)
All are sale items some need digital coupons added to your store shopping card per online account and some have limits as well to get the deals.
1) 60 count Lucerne eggs $6.49
2) 2 pounds Lucerne butter $3.98
3) 1 gal milk $1.99
4) 2-5# bags russet potatoes b1g1 free $3.49
5) 2-32oz coffee mate coffee creamers $3.98
6) 4#'s granny Smith or gala apples $3.16
7) 2-7count bags of avocados $3.98
8) 2#'s of strawberries $1.94
9) 2 cans pumpkin $1.98
Total Equals *if I did my math right and got prices all correct* $34.00 not counting meat.

When SHTF happens her family is DOOMED if that is all they have
Yes, she should stockpile more food. Even though she is doing really good, just need more.
I think she’s doing great. She has a whole other freezer full of meat. She isn’t feeding a large family.
I have a 7 ft.³ freezer in my pump house that’s full of food.
Update- took your advice and did a stock up shopping trip yesterday. Can’t fit anymore in pantry. Freezers full. Should be good for months. 👍

Instant coffee is disgusting. Just sayin ;)
I don't like instant coffee but keep some on hand because unopened it can last forever. I
can also agree with Jack about peanut butter as I love it so much I think I could live on it if I had too.
Love you ideas Kimberly. You are AWESOME!😊
🎉Great job Kimberly. Love your pantry. Tawra how is it that a world known cookbook author has a Mon (and coauthor) that won't eat beans and a son that would live on pb & j? Hilarious. 😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤
