This video was a brave one for you to make. You are spot on. I stayed home with our 3 sons and my husband worked very hard. I made sure he was able to relax when he would finally get home after a more than full day of work. Dinner was on the table, house was picked up and the boys were so happy to see their dad! We had to economize in many areas of our life, but I wouldn’t have changed a thing. It might sound like I was not a “with it female”, but I have had a wonderful life. I appreciate the opportunity I was blessed with.❤

Her husband unfortunately sounds like he “deserves” fancy foods because he works and thinks he’s working sooo hard! She sounds like she’s overworked and trying to pacify everyone. He needs to step up and maybe work 2 jobs and her to stop working in the home. She doesn’t get help or a break! Tawra you were very gentle telling her that her husband needs to step it up!

I was a child are provider for 25 years. My kids hated left overs so making lunch to reheat for our dinner my kids felt they were always second. Always. So I started doubling Donner and reheating for the the daycare kiddos. I quit food program but the requirements of our state was the same. You can use it as a write off on taxes. Less inspections. I also got the parents to start sending lunches for their children. That saved a lot!!! The last 2 years were so much easier not providing lunch. I feel for you hun. Daycare and homeschool ( I did for my daughter too) is a lot.

I had an in-home childcare program, which I closed 18 years ago, so I don’t know the current guidelines. But when I was part of the nutrition program that reimbursed a portion of the meals. I used a weekly menu plan that I rotated every 2-4 weeks.
I incorporated a lot of low cost meals like oatmeal, apple slices, milk for breakfast, or cream of wheat, slice banana, milk simple and economical.
Lunch might be tuna casserole, veggies, a fruit & milk or p&b sand, cheese slice, veg & fruit slice, milk.
Snacks: orange juice & crackers or sliced bolonga and crackers.
    Keep it simple.
My own children would eat the same meals as daycare children. It kept Breakfast, Lunch and snack nutritious & easy prep time for me.
You can Check with the food program specialist for easy meal options that meet program requirements. Hope something in here will help or give you ideas 🥰

The kid is only 7 years old if I heard correctly. The amount of time she is spending for a child of that age is plenty. There is no need to spend hours and hours at that age for schooling. Kids learn a lot through play at this age too.

    • @edefyinggravity
      @edefyinggravity 11 месяцев назад

@@rosannasauereisen2827 guess it depends how long the kids nap and how much educational activities Mom does with her daycare kids. An hour or so is not sufficient schooling for a 7 year old. Play is wonderful, but it is not a well rounded education. Something like Easy Peasy or Khan Academy would help take some of the burden off of Mom.

look for cheapest whole grain foods (google a list online) like brown rice, oats, and barley . for example kids get a serving of barley with beef or chicken flaver for a side (in the correct portion for their age). It was no difference to them, that getting 2 tbl spoons of ricearoni or mac and stuffing. Most kids ate it, when they saw everyone else eating it. It was just getting use to it. Of course that wasn't the only thing, but 1 or 2 times a week. The food program is really good. It is worth it. It also great for learning the REQUIREMENTS of food for different ages. 28 years of daycare here.

I think she needs to use other foods for her food categories. Use a whole grain pasta, oats and brown rice. That would be way cheaper than whole gold fish and English muffins. Definitely redo the meal plan. And with the oats you can add fruit which would help cover that area of the food plan. And use the same foods for home and daycare. Its all in how you plan the meals. Good luck.

I buy water from a local waterman that also our sells pool supplies and things like that. I bought five 3 gallon jugs and refill them every 2 weeks for 25 cents a gallon!!!!!! It’s reverse osmosis water, we have well water and a salt water softener and you are not supposed drink that water. Gallon water cost $1 at grocery store.

I usually don't comment or criticize, but u feel the need to here. Sounds like hubby follows a high protein diet, as I do. The benefit of this diet is that we can burn fat for fuel and don't need emergency meals(this does not apply to diabetics). I had a physically demanding job and frequently went 18 hours without a meal, I considered it a fast. If we're healthy, we don't need a constant supply of food in out bloodstream, we just want it. Also, I'd never request that my husband make special foods for only me to eat. I kept WalMart turkey sticks which have a 1 year shelf life in my locker at work and protein powder to mix with water for a quick meal. She needs to set limits. Please don't come for me!

Tier 1 is 3.12 Tier 2 is 1.88 for lunch. From here I would suggest arough budget of 50 cent to $1 on meat, milk 30 Veggies 30, fruit 30 and bread 35. If you price the items you serve out, you will soon find out which meals are too expensive to serve. Or perhaps which ones you will serve only once or twice a week and than to lower costs foods the rest of the week.

some walmarts will sell the 10 lb chub of hamburger for $32.00 they used to be 27 dollars six months ago. but well prices go up don't they. and it's really easy to cut that into 10 sections for 1 lb packages. and date and freeze. just checked it went up a dollar so now it' 32.84 here in the Arizona Mountains it's 73/27. which makes really juicy hamburger patties. and great meat loaf!

Most grocery receipts are usually shown online. I've checked my online Walmart receipts many times to compare prices when an item is on sale at another store, particularly on items that I don't buy often. I have some prices committed to memory but not all. Frankly, I'm often surprised to learn that some items are cheaper at Safeway than at Walmart.

    My advice would be:
    Stop doing daycare.
Put the 7 yr old in regular school, if that is an option.
    Start shopping better for groceries.
Tell the husband, if he works overtime, he can buy his snacks and treats, otherwise he will eat what you pack him for lunch, or he make it himself.
They don't have an income problem, they have a spending problem.
    That wife is overwhelmed.

They should run some numbers. How much more do they pay insurance and wear and tear on the home to do day care? How much do their taxes increase for her working? Subtracting those 2 from her income will probably surprise them to see how little she is making for all the stress. Plus other children coming in often cause more illness to your own kids. If she needs to contribute to their income, working part time while dad provides day care and learns to do the house things might actually contribute more.

You did a really nice job of telling her what she is supposed to do and she’s gonna have to put her foot down on all this work, and to retrain her husband to help her by making more money and/or eating what you makes for lunch. Trained Husband are what we need to do because his mom did not have the time or the wherewithal to raise a bunch of kids and train them men to really be men so when you get the husband, you have to train him to help you or he will not he will watch you do all the work around the house. He will watch you cook all the food he will watch you do all the shopping he will watch you do it all if you allow him to, so you need to step up and stop allowing him to take you to the stressed out level. It may even take two years to get him fully trained to help you without you asking for help but you will have to continue to ask for what you want every single day because he will try you every single day.

I go to the dollar store, and you can buy a package of muffin mix you just add what the directions say, like 1/4 cup of milk .It cost $1.25 and they taste good and come in multiple kinds.
