While there are more than 130 attempts to date Mahabharata and more than dozen attempts to date Ramayana, all of them have lead to different proposals based on, supposedly, same set of evidences from these epics. This causes lot of confusion and makes ordinary individuals wonder if they can trust either these researchers or the evidence, or both!
The problem is not in the evidence, but rather of irrational and subjective methods employed by most researchers. Nilesh will demonstrate a scientific framework for conducting new research or analyzing existing research, and how this simple framework can be used by anyone to determine the quality of any research work or claim.
Besides presenting specific dates for instances of Mahabharata & Ramayana, Nilesh will convincingly demonstrate, with the help of specific astronomy evidence, why Mahabharata war did not happen anytime after 4500 BCE and why Ramayana did not happen anytime after 10,000 BCE.

@@bakshychibber9641 I myself a Qualified Astrologer. I am a Hindu, When I was young I was inspired by Vishwamitra. My interest in Mythology and Astrology is at least 30 years old. I agree it is possible to have two different people with the same name but not in this case, here, many stories maintain the same Identity. Even I do my own research and observation. I know how to make sense out of what Nilesh is trying to illustrate. He is not really convincing. Although, he made many valid technical points. But it is not enough.
Dear Nilesh Oak Sir, According to you Ramayana is dated back just 12,000 years but I have a doubt in My mind coz I Came across a narration from Ramayana In SundarKand where it is mentioned that Hanuman came across 4 Tusked Elephants guarding the Lanka's Gates, and Now in present times we know that these 4 tusked animals looking like Elephants were actually GOMPHOTHERE who were present on earth roughly around 12 to 16 lakh years ago... thus this Supports the fact mentioned in Yugas being of Lakhs of years.. and Ramayan took place before 12 lakh years.

Mahabharata mentions ( in Adi parva - section 177) Mlecchas like Yavanas , Dravidas , Keralas , Sakas , Sinhalas

Obviously the text is composed much later than this period. ( I mean after Alexander’s invasion of India )
Even if we assume the actual events happened earlier , why did the author mention yavanas , Sakas and Dravidas fought against viswamitra’s armies ?
It is true or just mythology?
So how on earth did this man conclude Mahabharata happen between 6000BcE - 5000BCE ?

Translation:
Like that Vanga, Kalinga territories shall be searched along with Kaushika territories available on their fringes, then cast about the Dandaka forest all over its mountains, rivers, and its caves, then River Godavari that courses through Dandaka forest, and then the provinces of Andhra, Pundra, Chola, Paandya, Kerala are to be searched thoroughly. [4-41-11, 12]
Chola , Paandya and Kerala are collectively called Tamilakam in ancient times ( Dravida in Sanskrit , Reference Mahabharata)
These sangam age kingdoms flourished from around 600 BC to 300 AD. ( verified by recent Keezhadi excavations and Radio carbon dating )
These were Tamil speaking regions.
Tamil is a Dravidian language.
So Mahabharata calls this Dravida as Mlecchas ( foreigners)
Anyways Ramayana was composed during or after this timeline (600BC - 300 AD )

Nilesh, You are right about most Indians being very "self conscious" or having low "self esteem" when it comes to their religion or cultural values. They are not proud of it.
I have lived in USA for 22 years and I find that at least there Indians are trying to preserve their culture, unique identity and are proud. Perhaps this is due to fact they are very successful materially and are saying "we are better than whites, so why must we agree to anything that they say or talk about our civilization?"
In India alone you find Indians are aping the West, especially the Americans. You need to talk in English here to tell the other guy you are educated!

From another video, I learned that there are 3 pole stars in all. Archaeological data is very very expensive. Astrological data is more affordable. At around 11,600 years back, younger-dryas occurred, which led to a 400 mts of sea level rise. But then Dwarka was built later. The life-span of people has been reducing too. For example, Bhishma lived till 4 or 5 generations ahead of his own, but by the time pariksht become the ruler, it would have been half of bhishma's. You do a good job explaining the classical western approach to scientific investigations, commonly associated with Greek rationality. As an Indian scientist, more accurately, a Hindu scientist, I must point out a process of discovery and problem solving that I saw in myself and my numerous Hindu colleagues. The classical western scientific method you describe is based entirely on deductive logic; but interestingly, we Hindus unconsciously practice inductive logic in our approach to problem solving and scientific investigations. One of the main reasons that western corporations have set up their R&D operations in India is , I strongly believe, this tendency on the part of Hindu researchers to unconsciously utilize inductive reasoning, which can often lead to novel & unexpected answers. Having spent more than 50 years in research, & having left India a 20 year old, just after graduating from IIT Kharagpur, I became aware of this tendency in myself because the inductive approach is just not practiced in the west. Perhaps it comes from hearing the epics on our grand parents knees. Must be something.

I'm an Indian Atheist, I never believed in Mahabharata easily, I'm born Hindu, I know everything about Mahabharata, even more than most common people do. So I considered all these possibilities :
Logical Reasoning #1 - Indian Civilization inspired by Wars between of Persians and Greeks.
This was not possible because the accounts of Battle Formations, Astras and Divisions of Military mentioned in Indian Scriptures are too vast and numerous and have no known source of inspiration from Persians or Greeks. So, I had to drop this conclusion
Logical Reasoning #2 - Indians invented the Mahabharata Myth sometimes after the birth of Buddha to glorify Hinduism
This was not possible because even Buddhist Scriptures mention Mahabharata and Ramayana, In-fact Buddhists are inspired by Hindu Gods and not the other way
Logical Reasoning #3 - Mahabharata was simply an Imagination and Creation of Ved Vyas
- This was not possible because a single man's imagination could not have imagined all this information in Mahabharata - Border nations of India, Weapons, Modes of Combat, Battle Formations, Weapon Training, Details of Cities, Traditions, Customs, Life of Kings, Queens, Soldiers and Village folk at that time in various cities - From Hastinapura to Gandhara, From Sindhu desh to Ayodhya. There also Historical Accounts of Arabian Ocean, Dead Sea, Caspian Sea, Russia, This would have been impossible to imagine by a Native Indian at that time who would never have access to travel to all these places etc.
So, I'm forced to accept that despite being an Atheist, Mahabharata might have actually somewhat happened !!! I don't believe it happened in the exact same way but some things are definitely true. World Historians need to consider Hindu Mythoogy as History and not just Mythology and study Scriptures like Mahabharata which might reveal the true history of Mankind.
I am an Atheist, but I agree with Ramayan and I think Ram, Sita, and Ravanan were just Humans.

You arbitrarily selected Arundhati moving ahead of Vashishtha, more importantly OUT OF CONTEXT. Vyasa was describing bad omens- unnatural astronomical, climatic, biological and other things. The sholka here lists Arundhati preceding Vashishtha as an abnormal event. That means during that time too Vishishtha was ahead of Arundhati as we see now. As I mentioned this chapter describes many such abnormal events as bad omens.

A few years back (2011 ) India's National Institute of Oceanography conducted a large-scale deep-sea archaeological investigation on the southern and western coasts of India in collaboration with some British scientists, - which revealed the remains of many lost human settlements and vestiges of cities along large areas adjacent to the coastline of the Gujarat peninsula near the ancient Dwaraka, to the Madras area. Those were the connecting lands originally occupying the cut-out edges of the peninsula, and the land mass linking Cape Kumari to Sri Lanka. The remains found there included architectural and metallurgical craft that might be more refined or advanced than those of Mahenjodaro excavations. Scientists determined the age of the Dwaraka remains at 10 to 12 thousand years. According to Mahabharata, Lord Krishna retired to Dwaraka, and historians knew that ancient city was lost in the ocean probably due to some earthquake or sunami in some dateless past. If these new archaeological findings indicate anything, is it possible to place the Mahabharata events back to 10 thousand BC?

No, they only dated Dwaraka to that late Harrapan period to about 1500 BCE.

Indians must start writing Indian textbooks on all topics instead of promoting just western ones to Indian students. In that way there can be comparative studies. Too many times one has to read an English translation by a westener of the Sanskrit scriptures and the written account of Indian history. Sometimes the translations don't make sense as it comes from a western mind.

I completely agree with you, Utubetruthteller. I don't believe in the Aryan invasion theory, but I strongly believe that there was a global Vedic empire in antiquity. Although Vedic culture today is associated only with India (because Vedic culture in its original form survives today only in India), Vedic culture used to exist worldwide. The ancient Vedic writings of India (especially the Puranas) describe human lineages and Vedic culture extending BILLIONS of years into the past and we have suppressed archaeological evidence in the form of human fossils and human artifacts which CONFIRMS this. There are various evidences for the existence of a global Vedic empire, one of which is the fact that the swastika symbol is found on pretty much every continent in the world (you can find swastikas in India, Europe and even Peru, for example). The Vedic writings of Ancient India (including the Puranas) describe Earth as a hollow planet and that Vedic civilisation exists in the Inner Earth World (also known as 'Agartha'). The Norwegian man Jens Jansen and his son Olaf Jansen sailed into the Inner Earth World in 1829 and met very tall people there. Olaf wrote a book about all of this called 'The Smoky God' and said that the people there spoke a type of Sanskrit - this vindicates the Puranas! You can read more about this here:

Not only that, but a statue of the elephant-headed deity Ganesh was found in Queensland in Australia (here is a picture of it: img.4plebs.org/boards/pol/image/1507/82/1507821664719.jpg) and elephants are obviously NOT native to Australia and I'd just like to point out that Ganesh is NOT an exclusively Dravidian deity. These 6 powerful Ishwaras were allies and lived in peace among the Sakthavites who were a major sect revered by all. The 5 powerful Ishvaras known as Vasuki Nagas served Lord Shiva and were depicted as the five hooded Naga protecting Lord Shiva, their Guru and mentor.
They Vasuki Nagas helped the migrants to settle in their Kingdoms for 6 Manvantaras and never had any problems with the migrants who settled peacefully and integrated among the Nagas and their mixed races became known as the Yaksha’s who were the next generation Scientists, Mathematicians, great builders and scholars as well as great healers, inventors and educationalists of the prosperous age known as Satya Yuga of whom Hiranyaksha, Hiranyakasipu and Ravana were the greatest rulers They were the prodigies of Lord Shiva who was generous to all. They became powerful yet maintained a sophisticated lifestyle abiding by the Non Violence principles of Lord Shiva. Vishnu of Patala (Balochistan) was also educated by Lord Shiva and favoured as an Ishvar of Patala but his ambitions led to chaos in India as he plotted to take Lord Shiva’s place in Kailash and the land of Ganges. And this became the nightmare of the Churning of the milky Ocean, infiltrating the Kingdoms of Shiva tradition by deception sneaking in like Tortoise with an underground mafia. It is depicted as Kurma Avatar of Vishnu sneaking under the Meru in mythology. They were ruthless and greedy in nature like any Mafia, even defrauding the very people who would have helped them calling them Asuras. Eventually anyone who opposed them became known as Asuras.
Everything was peaceful in the Shiva country Hindustan until Vishnu joined the new set of Aryan immigrants known as the Adhaman Aryan of the middle east who had settled in the desert Lands of Afghanistan. They were the Devas, initially known as the Gantharvas. They asked help from the Vasuki Nagas for settlements and started defrauding them and the Yaksha’s breaking their patients after getting their help and that pain is represented by the vomiting of Halahala by Vasuki in Mythology. The relationship became Sour which their Lord Shiva had to pacify Vasuki by controlling his anger also to avoid conflict, due to which his throat is depicted as blue and Sakthy, the Sakthavites helped him to overcome dismay as his people were terrorised by the immigrants of the 7th Manvantara. This irritation developed into intolerable heights when Vishnu became unruly and ended up killing the wife of Sage Bhrigu. The very Sages who helped the Aryan Devas to settle down ended up cursing them. The Avatar perpetrators used this as the camouflage when Rama as the Avatar of Vishnu was separated from Sita for a year. But this separation was a planned espionage to tarnish Ravana’s name in order to defraud the Sentimental Vanara Clans of Kishkinda.
Devas were Aryan immigrants to India and they competed for lands especially where the Rivers flowed. It affected the local Naga and Yaksha communities who settled peacefully in India under the guidance of Lord Shiva, the Kailasapathy. The men called Avatars and their collaborators even set fire to local settlements. They either escaped or ended up as slaves when the Devas' introduced feudal system and worst of all "Varnashrama Dharma" which ended up as a caste system and untouchable into India which was a free country before under Lord Shiva, the Kailasapathy.
Beautiful Women called Mohinis' were used by the cunning Devas to entice the Asuras and steel from them when they found good wealthy lands especially mines of Gold and gems. The best finds were code named after Cows and white elephants known as the "Iravatham", the rare wealth which the head of the Deva Indra was allocated. The wealthy lands were code named as cows. The third best was "Kamadenu" which went to Sage Vasishta. and also another called Suseela. The other wealthy land was called Nandini, it was again another named after a cow called Nandini. The best of the lands went to Vishnu, that happened to be Goddess MahaLuxmi, which once belonged to Lord Shiva’s CommonWealth as Mahalakshmi is considered the daughter of Lord Shiva. They were the top of the range wealthy lands and mines so that Vishnu never had to work again. He just lived in luxury and called it laying in the milky Ocean pampered by Adhishesh and Mahalakshmi. They called it Vaikuntha whereas those who lost their freedom ended up into the tyranny of Varnashrama Dharma while their Ishvaran were terrorised with the Sudharshan Chakra and even imprisoned in their own Sanctuaries. They are known as Muneshwara and they belonged to the Yaksha race. They are still revered by their faithful followers in every Village.
The vast forest Land with rich mines of gold and Silver known as Nandini was settled for Jamadagni, the father of Parasu-Ram. It became the cause of the troubles between them and the Emperor of Kathiawar and King of Heheya Kartavirya Arjun, whose Kingdom the mine lands code named Nandhini were situated. When the King asked them to vacate they rebelled and fought the King whom Parasu-Ram destroyed by gorilla warfare and was acclaimed as an Avatar of Vishnu by Sage Vasishta. But ParasuRam was not an Avatar of Vishnu. He was an Ishvara of Lord Shiva, the Kailasapathy. He was a Prodigy of Lord Shiva just as Ravana. They were contemporaries. ParasuRam defeated Kartavirya Arjun of Heheya face to face along with the other Kings of his Empire. Kartavirya Arjun was a follower of Dattatreya. Dattatreya was once considered a Trimurthy Avatar but the collaboration did not last long. He was reduced to Vishnu Avatar.when those who represented Brahma (Chandran) and Shiva (Durvasa) left the collaboration because they couldn’t tolerate the overbearing attitude of Datta, the Vishnu aspect.
All this is to do with materialism and is hiding behind Avatar activities. They will destroy any one who stands in their way. That was what happened to the Yakshas’(Asuras') and who had the best including Lord Rahu and Lord Ketu. Vaishnavism played them by enticing them with beautiful women known as "Mohinis''. Later on during the seventh and Eighth Avatar activities, they have used women of the King's household in place of the "Mohini". The wives of the Hero were used including Sita of Ramayana or Draupadi of Mahabharata. But these women were not physically involved nor were they kidnapped, abused or humiliated in the Court. It was an espionage tactic. They simply spread such tales around to gain support and alliances. It was a war tactic.
These are the achievements and betrayals of Avatar activity. It still goes on. This Video is part of that conspiracy too. So beware of what you hear and what you believe. Thank you very much! I just read Bhagavadgita in a serious translation by a profesor of sanskrit in Prague's Charles university, who uses the book as a teaching tool at his lectures. It is obvious he has done a pretty good job. If I understand it correct, Bhagavadgita is a part of Mahabharata. It's a conversation on the battlefield of the great Mahabharata war. So it's dating is very interresting to me. Especialy concerning the fact that Krishna says something like: Whenever the mankind embraces evil so much that it enthreatens it's existence, I incarnate in a human body and renew the order. He says it as if it was something he had done several times before making the statement. And as if it was something he foresees he would have to do again in future. So, if Krishna says it in

When Lord Jesus speaks about bread and wine, everybody understands these are metaphorical expressions. The same way when he speaks about silver talents, lamps and oil, wineyard workers etc. It is not less valuable then positivistic history. It is more valuable.

Ancient Indians knew how to write timings of events so it can be deciphered by people thousands of years later, rather than this modern day English B/S way of writing dates BC and CE which keeps changing depending upon who controls world order. Science is the only way to progress. Because Science accepts the mistakes and move forward correcting itself. Every progress made in Quantum Mechanics is by Theoretical Physics Scientists like Einstein, etc., and every Scientist in QM field quote Vedas and Bhagavad Gita, does it sound familier. Mahabharata mentions ( in Adi parva - section 177) Mlecchas like Yavanas , Dravidas , Keralas , Sakas , Sinhalas came out of cow Nandhini and fought Vishwamitra’s army :

Yavanas - Indo Greeks (180 BCE- 10 AD )
Sakas - Indo Scythians ( 150 BCE-400 AD)
Dravidas - Tamilakam ( 600 BCE - 300 AD)
Obviously the text is composed much later than this period. ( I mean after Alexander’s invasion of India )
Even if we assume the actual events happened earlier , why did the author mention yavanas , Sakas and Dravidas fought against viswamitra’s armies ?

"The Holy Science" by Swami Shri Yukteshwar Giri. There are upward and downward cycles of yugas.
Shri Yukteshwar believed Dwapar started in 1700 AD (Colonization of India) also Mahabharat to be around 800 BC. This is what I have read from forums. And if this is correct he was extremely brainwashed by Europeans.
So you should research if he said all this or Not and then follow him intelligently. Europeans were first negating Mahabharata then they reluctantly agreed to put Mahabharata around 800 BC. Then newer dates for Buddha came to 500-600 BC so they had to shift Mahabharata to 1400 BC (800 years prior to Buddha but under Aryan Invasion timeline which is 1500 BC to 1700 BC) they vehemently reject any earlier dates as it negates Aryan Invasion theoey. Hindu tradition says Mahabharata is ateast 5000 years old which is also proven by Krishna iconography in Mohen jodarro and Nepal. Thus if Yukteshwar believed Mahabharata to be of 800 BC, he wasn't correct.

Ananda is a spiritual organization founded by Swami Kriyananda (given name: Donald Walters) who was a direct disciple of Paramahamsa Yogananda (who in turn was a disciple of Sri Yukteshwar, author of Holy Science or "Kaivalya Darshanam" in Sanskrit).

Time is Relative in Different lokas (plane of existence).
1 year spent in Swarag Lok is equal to 360 years spent on earth.
King Dasrath had participated in Dev-Asur sangram (war between Angels and Demons) to help Indra. So, when he came back his age with respect to earth will be increased.
Also, time of 12 hours (day or night) spent in Brahma Lok is equal to 4.32 billion years on earth.
So, if Dasrath, Ravan or Parsuram visit Brahma in Brahmaloka to meet even for few minutes their age will be increased to 1000s of years in few minutes because with respect to earth they have spent 1000s of years.
There are 2 other stories mentioned that when a king came back to earth from different lok, millons of years had passed and his age was magnified. I can quote you detailed stories of them as well.
But, there is another remarkable thing as well, whether you know it or not.
Age and height of a normal human is different yugas.
Lord Ram age was around 1 lakh years. Lord Krishna's age was several thousands years. Telling you, it's reason as well.
Oxygen level in atmosphere is different in different Yugas. Dinosaurs were in real Lizards with big size. Scientists tells they have found skeltons of really big animals which are very short right now.
Average life of human in Sat yug is 1 lakh years and average height is 31.5 feet
In Treta Yug average life of human is 1 lakh years and height is 21 feet.
Average height in Dwapar Yug is 10.5 feet and life span is 100 years.
While in Kali Yug Human life is of 100 years and height just 5.25 feet average.
So, only tons of generations of a King can live in Sat Yug and Treta Yuga as their life expectancy is quite high in lakhs of years.

It is clear that ancient Indians had a wealth of knowledge about heavenly bodies...through their observations. The observations were consistent over several years and also now about the heavenly bodies. It is amazing that they were able to chart out the starts and the movement of planets and relate them to the lives of humans on earth. It also appears, religion is evolved through these observations. The heavenly bodies are not reachable and they are out there in heaven and had meaning behind the changing seasons and weather pattern. Night and Day had meaning. The concept of creation, protection and destruction emerged from these observation. Those who were knowledgeable developed a certain beliefs that these heavenly bodies have power and therefore gods. Many civilization developed such beliefs simply through observations of these heavenly bodies. Vyasar is one such knowledgeable person had gathered the vast amount of knowledge and organized allogorically in poetic form that has the stories and explanations regarding good and evil. However, it is not clear that Ramayana or Mahabharatha ever happened in this physical world in the way people are imagining that it happened in such spectacular way. Yet, these writings are taking us in a mystical sense and leaving us with aw and astonishing without knowing how to explain such knowledge came and complied other than simply believing that it is true. More evidence need to be collected that such events have actually happened on earth instead of simply believing about such beautifully written scripts.
