Jeff Newman What Transmission was it? I’m curious what the difference in reach would be between your setup and the way I did it? It depends on which transmission and which engine/crankshaft register length. One way doesn’t fit all applications. www.novak-adapt.com/knowledge/gm-crank-spacing
On the Passenger side of the early truck intake there is an unused vacuum port that’s sealed, all you have to do is open the end. I’ve also drilled/tapped/installed a barb fitting to the oem plastic intakes. JD

Peter. Hatch As long as you don’t have the extended flange like the early 1999/2000 6.0 then the bolt on adapter and flat flexplate will work for a TH400 or 4L80e Check out the link in the description for the break down of the engine/transmission/flexplate combos. 👍

@@HeadFlowInc I’m running the same flexplate with bolt in spacer with a th400 converter from jegs which is said to be the exact same as b&m. I’m not running spacers either. Thank you
meathead1011980 This is a 6.0 flexplate 😉. All 6.0 flexplates are “Flat”, the early 6.0 has a .400” extended crankshaft register/hub 1999-2000 used the flat flexplate no adapter. The 2001-up 6.0 uses the bolt on adapter, seen in my video, to properly locate the flexplate to the starter. 👍
HeadFlowInc yeah I got the years mixed up... mines is made on to the plate... I can’t unbolt it... this is good info because I didn’t know that... thank you my guy
I have 2006 6.0 on a 4L80E it's the original engine with the original trans ..the problem I'm having is that the flexplate keeps breaking around the bolts which is around the bolt on adapter(spacer)..do you know what could be the cause of this?..its my work van and it has 523,000 miles runs great and shifts smoothly. Manuel Figueroa The Novak guide shows the truth about all the old school transmissions to the LS engines! Thank goodness I found this information on what works! JD www.novak-adapt.com/knowledge/gm-crank-spacing
I’ve gone through 3 converters so far! I haven’t installed the 3rd one yet. 1. Don’t waste your money on a B&M anything especially the Holeshot 3000 it’s cheap junk. 2. I had decent success with a TCI 10” Super Street Fighter w/anti ballooning plate 3500-3800. 3. New converter is the “Entry” level boost PTC 10” w/anti-ballooning plate spec’d for my combo. *** The best Bang for the Buck converters are the Jegs XHD 10” built by TSI. Decent price and a solid/proven performer up to 800+ wheel HP. JD
I put mine together and it started clinking really bad and I did it just like how they said with just the adapter to the TH350 and we all know that's a lie!!
Keith Walker It depends on which flexplate you use, I would not use the ring adapter with a dished flexplate it’s a cheesy pos but lots of people do. It’s a choice we all have to make. JD
Yes very loose B&M Holeshot 3000 converter. It didn’t stay very long, I’m using a TCI Super Street Fighter 3500-3800 w/anti-ballooning plate #241002 until I can afford to upgrade. JD
I’ll be honest, I’ve never used a B&M converter I’d recommend to anyone because they’re cheaply made for the price. You can get a entry level PTC converter for +- $500.00-$550.00 shipped. I can’t justify spending over $400.00+ on a B&M. The only off the shelf converter id recommend is the Jegs XHD converters made by TSI. Currently on sale for $337.99 are excellent quality with dual anti-ballooning plates rated at 800hp. Check them out in the stall range you need, if going turbo make sure it’s big enough to get into boost. JD

@@HeadFlowInc thank you Sir, love the channel 👍
Did you have to use spacers for the torque converter mounting tabs to the flex plate
No I did not need spacers, I’ve never had good luck running spacers without having vibration issues.
If you need spacers they need to be precision flat and all exactly the same.
I wouldn’t waste time or money on a B&M converter either. JD
@@HeadFlowInc I’m running the same flexplate with bolt in spacer with a th400 converter from jegs which is said to be the exact same as b&m. I’m not running spacers either. Thank you
6.0 flexplate 2002
meathead1011980 This is a 6.0 flexplate 😉.
Adapter is for flat flex plate
I have 2006 6.0 on a 4L80E it's the original engine with the original trans ..the problem I'm having is that the flexplate keeps breaking around the bolts which is around the bolt on adapter(spacer)..do you know what could be the cause of this?..its my work van and it has 523,000 miles runs great and shifts smoothly. I never had any work done on the trans except change fluid and filter..
I forgot to mention, it's a flat flexplate with bolt on spacer from autozone (pioneer brand) 5th one purchased
i like it good job thanks
Manuel Figueroa The Novak guide shows the truth about all the old school transmissions to the LS engines! Thank goodness I found this information on what works! JD

What torque converter are you using?
JD
@@HeadFlowInc thanks for the quick response and the advice!
Is this the same for an LY6 to th400?
Tommydco Yes, check out the link in the description, it will clarify everything. Thanks for the feedback I appreciate it! JD
How about a 700 r4 to LS
Check out this guide:

I put mine together and it started clinking really bad and I did it just like how they said with just the adapter to the TH350 and we all know that's a lie!!

Is there suppose to be space between the flywheel and torque converter
@HeadFlowInc I have the flat flex plate and the spacer and there is still a gap between the flex plate and the torque converter what should I do now
This video is misleading. The spacer would have worked. This issue was slag on converter from beginning.
Keith Walker It depends on which flexplate you use, I would not use the ring adapter with a dished flexplate it’s a cheesy pos but lots of people do. It’s a choice we all have to make. JD
Let's not forget this is the same guy that didn't know why the ears busted off his transmission when his torque converter wasnt fully seated .
That’s a bold face lie, I’m sorry you’re so lonely.
Is that a B&M torque converter
Yes very loose B&M Holeshot 3000 converter. It didn’t stay very long, I’m using a TCI Super Street Fighter 3500-3800 w/anti-ballooning plate #241002 until I can afford to upgrade. JD
Do you think the B&M 20484 would work good
I’ll be honest, I’ve never used a B&M converter I’d recommend to anyone because they’re cheaply made for the price.
JD
I'll let you know I found a pretty decent torque converter for really cheap look these guys up Freakshow torque converters
Did you bait us into watching another video....WOW
I hope so! Sorry I just found this post from a year ago! JD
👍👍
