    Similar experience for me with the same Poynting xpol-2-5g antenna - the download speeds did not improve at all, only the upload speeds, and better SNR.

      Indeed. I see this happen a lot. I think the download is simply managed by the network, but as soon as you get a good connection things are more stable and the network serves you better. These days that's really where the "working remote" setup comes to it's power, allowing people to Zoom / Team etc without any trouble

    Nice demonstration! I've just messaged your website a couple of questions and some info on how I use. If you think this product suits my user case, take my money!

    It would have need nice if you also tried the caravan omni directional antenna as well to compare it with the directional antenna.

    • @RFShop
      @RFShop  2 года назад

      Yes...that'll actually happen on a caravan in the coming months as well

    In settings...Is Max Performance better than balanced like it says battery plugged in for max performance..does this mean it'll add speed???

    • @RFShop
      @RFShop  Год назад

      I am much more in favour of balanced over speed. You may see faster speeds, but consumer modems tend to trip over themselves if you keep pushing it too hard.

    How do you attach the Poynting antenna to the pole? The bolts/bracket that is attached to the back of the Poynting antenna is not suitable to clasp the pole. Do you sell a mounting bracket at RFShop?

    • @RFShop
      @RFShop  Год назад +1

      There is a pole mount / u-clamp included in the antenna that we use to attach is to the pole. I have done a video to explain this as well...see ruclips.net/video/8Uug3lnF4qQ/видео.html

    hello. What are the two connectors you attached from the router. They are white and connected to the antenna lead? Thanks

    • @RFShop
      @RFShop  Год назад +1

      On this particular cable it's SMA connectors. Poynting adds little thumb screws plastic covers over the connectors to make them easier to fasten and loosen.

    RSRP: -110dBm
    RSRQ: -11dB
    RS-SINR: 13dB
    My ethernet speeds keep spiking and dropping from 280Mbps down to 5-10Mbps.
    Am I simply having a signal issue?
    Is it simply a bad position in my house?

    • @RFShop
      @RFShop  Год назад

      I think the RSRP is a bit weak, so you can expect some fluctuation. You would want to see what the RSRP (and RSRQ / SINR) is when the speeds are lower

    I'm using the Bluespot 5G antenna UK with the ZTE MU 5001 5G hotspot stock test 2 signal bar with -107db speeds 280mb - 320mb download 5mb upload
    Antenna on test upstairs window 4-5 bar 5G signal with -85db with speeds 360mb - 530mb download 7mb upload...

      We've had mixed success here in AU with the MU500 units that Telstra sells. At least the reported signal strength seems very good, but the upload improvement is somewhat underwhelming :)

      Holy sheet that's some nice speeds, I max out around 430Mbps somedays
