    Still no no e-sim or built-in memory capabilities.
    Can someone please explain what is the difference between the Nighthawk M6 Pro and non-pro version?

      Does your mobile network operator have a data fair usage policy that might cause this? Just a thought.

    Just got a new apartment and apparently they have a contract with a random internet provider called consolidated smart, so they don’t let you get any internet provider you want. The lady on the phone for consolidated smart told me the highest package for internet they only offer 300mbs which is pretty slow. I game heavily online and need to keep up with friends. Looking into one of these to use every other day for a few hours like 4-6 every other day. Would this be able to help me out?? I would love an answer cause I move in Monday 16th I would need to get internet asap. Please?? Any ideas??

    • @0150r
      @0150r 7 дней назад +1

      You don't need 300mbps for gaming. Ping time is the most important factor. I would take 20mbps with 20ms ping over 500mbps and 100ms ping

    Hi there I found your two Nighthawk M6 pro videos helpful. I think I need a wifi system at home in my detached garage, my art studio, and the place where I film, stream and Zoom meet my online students. Sadly, I am only on a sky BB on copper from the cabinet, offering only a small 4.5 - 5 upload speed. This upload speed in critical for me, as I am always getting dropout lag etc and spinning wheels, as the bitrate drops. I can't get high fibre at this time anywhere.
    So I need to get an ee sim only deal. The 5g router they provide is valued at £300 and the device unlimited plan over two years charges £720 for the same device.
    So I am looking at buying a Nighthawk and future-proofing my coverage as the masts improve etc. My home has two nearby offering great 4g inside and out and a good 5g outside, but not so good inside. Of course that may well change I guess.
    I would run a Nighthawk on mains power, either inside the studio or from USB in my van when I am mobile on painting trips.
    I was and still am worried about mainly upload speeds overall, for streaming and Zoom meetings. EE stated their router would not drop below 10mbps, You mentioned the 5g upload was not good
    so I am a little worried about the cost and getting a bad outcome.
    It is certainly a huge cost as Amazon charges are £770 at this time Uncapped unthrottled EE sim is £42 per month or capped speed at 100mbps is £27. for unlimited data, I also guess EE have a fair usage policy too.
    Knowing my needs would you go for M6pro or the lesser M models such as 6, or 5?
    I apologise for the long message and hope to hear from you soon, many thanks in anticipation of a kind reply
    best wishes
    Paul

    one issue im running into with mine is it will lose signal on purpose when it gets too hot. I’m currently in the desert and it’s consistently 110 degrees fahrenheit plus so it’s hard to keep this thing cool. It warms up on its own a TON so the added heat just has it losing signal ALL the time.

    Would it be possible (maybe "recommended" would be a better word) to use the M6 Pro as a small "event wifi" device? For example, if I wanted to provide wifi to a group of 15 strangers in a park, would this device meet that need? Or would it be too cumbersome?

    • @tdcattech
      @tdcattech  8 месяцев назад +1

      Don't see why not. The range wouldn't be amazing (it's just Wi-Fi after all) but this device would happily handle that many devices connecting up and using data.

    I think you are just being ripped off in the UK.
    These are under $600AU.
    I have had mine replaced 3 times because the internal antennas fail and it is only useable with external mimo antenna.
    I have just purchased a more reliable modem so the nighthawk will probably go in the bin.

    • @tdcattech
      @tdcattech  6 месяцев назад +3

      This is 💯 a rip off. It’s hugely overpriced IMHO (though it is very useful). What model did you replace it with?

      @@tdcattech I have just ordered the Teltonika RUTX50. I should have it in the next couple of days.
      The Nighthawk has been a complete failure for me. I have had 2x M5 and 3x M6 and they have all failed.
      I hope this one will solve my problems.

      A lot bulkier than the nighthawk but it depends on your application. About $1100 AU

    Ours will be used for camping, this is hopefully an upgrade. Using a hotspot in a trailer amounts to being in a faraday cage so an external antenna is necessary and some times with a signal booster.
