For anyone confused by this. Many stormwater inlets in recent developments have oil separators that keep oil, trash, and other debris separated as storm runoff flows through them. The oil separators are regularly inspected, and when near capacity, the oil/trash is removed by a vacuum truck. This is likely what was being dumped into the lake.

@@twinnevans971 if you look into the report they did an investigation and did confirm it was unfiltered waste water and they got huge fines. The water was only cleaned with an enzyme solution which is also toxic to anything living in that lake including the pH of the lake which could lead to bacteria accumulation and swimmers itch if people swim in it etc

Maybe I’m wrong but that’s not a natural lake, that looks like a retention ping which means it’s there for storm water runoff. I live in Florida and we have tons of retention ponds all over the place. It’s for storm water which is what that truck was dumping. I can only assume it was in the area opening up clogged drains and then dumping it in the same retention pond it was going to anyways.

How do you think that lake gets filled with water? Here's a hint. Rain water. Where do you think that parking lot drains in to when it rains? Here's a hint, it drains into that lake.
Water flowing down sidewalks, gutters, and parking lots doesn't magically disappear once it does down the metal grate. It gets diverted to the nearest creek and then lake. It's not treated. Guess what else goes down those metal grates? Dirt and debris like leaves. Guess what clogs those underground drainage systems? Yep, dirt and leaves. Guess where the dirt and leaves go when it's flowing smoothly, yep, the lakes and creeks.
So these pumper trucks suck the dirt and debris, water out of the clogged drainage pipes and then dumps it right back to where it was going and had been going for millennia, the nearest creek or lake.

Right here in downtown Cincinnati, you'll see folks swinging in that nasty water. All kinds of trash, debris, dirty needles, urin, poop, chemicals, dead animals, dead humans, etc. And people swim In that ish. Ive seen people swim in the Millcreek, which is worse, but when its a lot of rain , drains into the Ohio river Anyway, even tho they say it shouldn't , all those chemical plants, and warehouses, and the jergens KAO buildings etc, all these weird places that deal with nasty stuff or chemicals are mostly based right along the mill "creek" its man mad and these huge corporations are constantly getting fined and in trouble for illegal dumping, they continue to do so, the only repercussion is to pay their people off. Rich keeping other rich rich, and helping each other. Sadly

Why didn’t they just let the alleged runoff water run into the ponds that they were designed to run into. Rationale thought would dictate that The truck was dumping something other than just runoff water.

A truck pulled up and a guy came out with several buckets and poured some thick liquid into the river. My mom said she recognized the guy he works at a local restaurant. This is not a truck carrying sewer water(toilet/septic tank). Traffic used to leave an small percentage of oil in the street that once rain is swept into the catch basin(inlet). Inside the inlet they install a oil separated called baffles.
